you and me are meant to be

Hello! Can you guys believe it’s Wednesday? This week is flying by! Slow down week!
Today I have a fun mini album to show you guys. A lot time ago (I’m talking months and months), I signed up for a class being taught by Elizabeth Kartchner. I *finally* got a little time to do it this weekend, and I am so glad! It was a great self-paced class with videos, etc. And now I can’t wait to make more mini albums! I am also so grateful that they left the class up this long! Do you all wish there were more hours in the day too?

Okay, so there are a lot of photos in this post! And, of course, some Lawn Fawn stampyness. This is a mini book of the story of me and Mike :).

Here is the cover:

page 1 a
I went a little crazy with my paint on the cover, but it was so much fun that I don’t mind it! I just love the Fly Free birdie ready to fly right off the page!
page 2 a
I used some letter stickers in Bannerific to put our names on the inside cover. The velum envelope holds pages for journaling. It is so nice to write our love story down. I never have, and I am so glad I am doing it now!
page 2 b
A fun little adornment on the opening of the envelope. I just had to add another Fly Free bird.
page 3
This is the first photo we ever took. It’s in Mike’s dorm room at UC San Diego. We met at a 24 hour burrito place after a Wind Ensemble rehearsal. Yup, we are band nerds in love. This page is canvas, and has some spray ink on it. I am getting more used to the stuff. I really need to keep trying it! (Oh, and please excuse my eyebrows. What was I thinking?! Haha!)
page 4
This is a photo of us in our first apartment. I just had to take one right when we got the keys to enter. We still miss this place. There was something magical about it there. I used the present tag stamp from Bows and Holly for a little journaling tag. It works so well for that!
page 5
This is an acrylic page I also over painted. Once I get painting I can stop. I also like to finger paint better than paint with brushes. It’s just more fun! ๐Ÿ™‚ This photo was taken by Chenin Boutwell of Boutwell Studio for our engagement photos. Mike just make me smile :).
page 7
The other side of the acrylic page. I decided to do two photos here also shot by Chenin Boutwell of Boutwell Studio. I added a bow from Bows and Holly for an extra embellishment. It also make me think of “tying the knot!” ๐Ÿ™‚
page 8
Another vellum envelope is adorned with the “love life” sentiment from Fly Free. This mini set is just perfect for mini albums! I also used Teeny Tiny Backdrops to decorate my tag. I used the music notes, since we met playing music!
page 10
I just did some quick journaling on the back of the tag. Since most of my thoughts are in the envelopes, I decided to just put little things around my photos.
page 11
This is one of my favorite photos from our wedding. (Shot by Chenin Boutwell of Boutwell Studio). You guys need to go check out her photos! They are so gorgeous and inspirational! I used Bannerific for journaling here. It is wonderful for titles, dates and all kinds of journaling!
page 12
The last two pages where Bannerific and the Fly Free bird from the cover make an appearance again. I just love adding stamped images as if they were special die cuts just perfect for my pages. I just love that you can customize them with patterned paper or coloring!
page 13

And now the end. I had to include an Instax photo! I just love that little camera! The journaling here says “new year’s eve/starting our 12th year together full of bliss & joy/ this is family/this is true love”

I just had a blast making this book and can’t wait to do more. I can’t wait to make a Say Cheese one! Have you incorporated stamping into a mini book lately? We would love to see it!

Have an amazing day,

rainbow birds say thank you!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! I have a happy sunshiny card for you today to combat all of the dreary rain we are having here!

These little birds are from Critters in the Forest. I colored them in a rainbow pattern. I love the idea of all of these birds all lined up in a row on a wire in the sky. ๐Ÿ™‚

I cut clouds out of some fabulous American Crafts Hello Sunshine paper. I LOVE that line. I adhered them directly to the card and with different levels of foam adhesive to give the card some dimension. I also adhered my panel to a card base (also in white) with some foam adhesive. I love the white on white. It looks so cool! I also used Just My Type, Too for the sentiment. I just love that font! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hoping for some rainbows today! ๐Ÿ™‚
