Hello and welcome to the first post of Lawn Fawn’s March inspiration week! We are just so excited about this week! We are featuring three stamp sets and our paper line Bright Side, and we will have fun posts and giveaways and lots of inspiration!

We already have two places you can leave comments to win:
Our big giveaway post!!

AND today’s post too! 🙂

Today is another look at “Bright Side“, and we have some seriously gorgeous layouts today!   We also have a little video on the bottom showcasing our Lawn Trimmings cord and fun ways to dye it!

We also a fun treat today as the absolutely spectacular Amy Heller is guest designing for us today!

Hi everyone! It’s Amy Heller here today I’m so excited to be guesting for Lawn Fawn today! A little about me:

I was introduced to scrapping in 2004, like many scrappers, from an in-home party. But I didn’t scrap with real consistency until 2008, once my kids were a bit older and out of their infancy stages. 🙂 As a graphic designer by profession, this hobby has brought me back to the fundamental reasons why I fell in love with design in the first place : paper, color, letter form and layout. My style has, of course, evolved from those early days. Now I would definitely say that I have a fun, cheerful, colorful and whimsical style. I LOVE to layer pattern, color and texture (especially with buttons, ribbon and sewing). I think it’s safe to say that I love to embellish on my work. 🙂 I currently design for American Crafts, October Afternoon, and am a Garden Girl for Two Peas in a Bucket. I’ve been fortunate to have had my work published in several magazines ranging from Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, CARDS, Paper Crafts as well as Scrapbooks and Cards Today. I am from the beautiful state of Washington, but I currently live in a small quintessential New England town in Connecticut with my awesome husband of 12 years, our daughter, 9, and our son who nearly 6.

Thank you so much for joining us today, Amy!

Remember to click on the person’s name or card to see all of the details and leave these wonderful DT girls some comment love! 🙂

Amy‘s layout is one of those layouts that makes my jaw drop! I just love how she used Flutter By and paper piecing to create a gorgeous garden! The Lawn Trimmings twine looks amazing as the butterfly bodies, and the buttons look so cute on the flowers. I also adore how she tied the twine around the photos, too. The Bright Side stickers look fantastic with the mixed sized title. Thank you so much for the inspiration, Amy!
Tiffany‘s layout of her new baby girl is just perfect! How amazing are those flowers?! I love the Silver Lining chevron paper as the sky and her photos are just adorable! I just had to get a Lawn Fawn onesie made for our new little Fawnie and I think she looks adorable in it! 🙂 The Lawn Trimmings twine looks great as the clothesline, too!
Melissa S.‘s layout is so fun! I adore the strips on the sides of the layouts, and her custom cut titles are so cool! What a fun way to do a list of nicknames! Critters Ever After is the perfect set because Melissa’s cat’s name is Griffin! She also cut one of the cards out of our Happy Thoughts paper for journaling. Perfect!
Melissa M.‘s layout is so fun. How cool are those circles?! I just love the pennants coming down, too. This is such a create go to layout! It is great how she picked out the kraft, teals and greys for her layout. It is a really fun color combo. Combining Claire’s ABCs with the Bright Side stickers is perfect because they are the same font!
Kim‘s layout is so fun! I just love the Jump For Joy kraft paper as a background. The frames cut from patterned paper around the photos looks awesome, and I just love the way that Kim layered all of the strips. It looks as fun as her trip was! 🙂
Linda’s layout is so clever! I just love the way she cut titles out in the Say Cheese polaroids and then layered the 6×6 papers behind it. So cool! The pennants were also done from the 6×6 papers which shows how fun these are to use on layouts. I also just love the airmail strips from You’ve Got Mail around the journaling. Perfect!

Make sure you click on each of the design team’s names or pictures to go to their blogs and see the details of how they made their cards. You will walk away inspired for sure!

Now, I have a little video for you showing our Lawn Trimmings twine and some fun things you can do with it! I hope you enjoy it! Watch it below or at our You Tube channel.

Thank you so much for watching!

I hope you have enjoyed this look at “Bright Side”. Tomorrow we have our intro to Flying By! For now, though, it’s giveaway time! In honor of Melissa’s layout leave us a comment telling us your pet’s name (if you don’t have a pet, tell us your favorite pet name) by March 28th at 10:00pm EDT, and we will randomly pick one winner!

Make sure to come back tomorrow, Tuesday March 26th, at 12:01am EDT for our next sneak peek day!

Thank you so much for all of your excitement for our inspiration week! Your comments, tweets, facebook and YouTube messages mean so much to us! Every one puts a big smile on our faces! We think Lawn Fawn fans are the best in the world. We love you guys! 🙂

Thank you so much for visiting!

  1. Gorgeous projects, gorgeous products!
We don't currently have a pet 🙁 – but my favorite name is Ruff (my in-laws' dog…he used to have a brother named Rowdy but now they're a one-dog household).
Thanks to all the designers, and thanks for the chance to win!

  2. WOW Melissa is totally awesome…her layouts are gorgeous…love all the fun details…

Always love your videos…so fun and cheerful…
I have two Dogs…Poodles…there names are Curtis and LoLa…they are my babies…

  3. My pet's name is HeiHei, which means Blackie in Mandarin Chinese. I usually call him Hei, especially when I want to get his attention. However, it gets a little awkward sometimes on walks, since "Hei" and "Hey" sound exactly the same, so people on the street look at me weirdly because I keep saying things like "Hey! Get off the grass!"

  4. I wish i had a kitty. It's my dream that someday i'll end up in MY PLACE where i dont' have to worry about MOVING coast to coast, over the ocean, and don't have to worry about the owner of the place! Anyways, my recent fav. is my online friend's new puppy's name; Meatball!! LOL!! i thoughtit was soo cute, and this puppy is so cute too! Thanks for this Experimenting videoo clip! Now i know what to work with your twines. I'm still impressed with your Packaging for twines, Kelly Marie! I have so many twines, and they are all tangled up and everytime i use, i have to just pull as much as i can and CUT, so that i can have Twine. I'm sure i'm wasting a lot. But this packaging, it's easy to store, and easy to use!! The best idea i've seen for twines!! 🙂

  5. I never had a pet (except for "Goldie the goldfish" when I was a young kid and had no imagination for naming), but I love food names for pets. If I get a dog, I'd like to name him/her a tasty name like Cashew, Pancake, Butterscotch, or Biscuit. I'd pick the name based on the color of the dog's coat.

By the way, I'd like to point out that you wrote the giveaway's deadline being February 27th. Shouldn't it be March 27th? Unless we're all a month late, or 11 months too early. 😛 (No worries; we all make mistakes.)

  6. I absolutely love layouts that honour our furry friends. Thank you for the inspirational post designers 🙂

We have 3 girl ratties as furbabies. They are still under a year and very, very busy. Coco, Fae and Princess light up our lives every day.

  7. My husband and I have 2 peach faced lovebirds called Chis and Char. Chis and Char are named after the bands Cold Chisel and Good Charlotte.
I just bought some of Lawn Fawn's twine so that video has been great for me to watch!

  8. And once again … awesome layouts!! Woooow!
Thanks for the inspiration and cute videos!!
I had a black lab for 13 years.
    He died 7 years ago.
    His name was Falco!
He was so cute & adorable
    (and big) 🙂
    I still miss him and maybe it's time for another dog… I don't know…

  9. These layouts are just amazing! The one that Amy made is a killer 🙂

I had small puppy called Romi some years back but he dies of infection. Stayed with us for just a month and I still miss him. He was so adorable!

  10. My sister has a gorgeous dog, a Boxer called 'Thadie'. His name comes from the way her partner, Jamie, said his own name when he was a toddler. Such a cute idea for a pet's name 🙂

The Bright Side papers look absolutely amazing in Amy's layouts. I'm in awe of all the paper piecing in the first layout – it's beautiful.

  11. We had three kitty cats but they have all passed away now – I miss them! My favorite name out of all three was Toby – we had him only a short time and it has been many years but I miss him the most. Still makes me sad thinking about him right now!

  12. My cats are named by my then two-year old, hence: Mouse and Pingu (the penguin). It is very confusing for people when we call out for "Mouse", and a cat comes running ^-^

  13. Such cute designs with this collection!! My hubby and I have two cats – Katie and Daisy – and they are complete opposite of each other. I love them both like children!!

  14. All of these LO's are just amazing! Beautiful work everyone!!
We have 2 dogs here, one beagle named Petie, and one large shepard/st bernard named Chief. Our pals!

  15. Fabulous projects!! I esp. like Melissa M.'s- LOVE those circles! We have 2 feline fuzzy children. Bucky in honor of Wisconsin's Bucky Badger (we're actually not fans but there was a big resemblance when he was small) and Aeryn after a character on Farscape (they have VERY similar personalities!)

  16. I have lots of pets. I'm a huge animal lover and rescuer. I have princess my border collie/springer spaniel mix, spike the chihuahua, Chatam the boxer, belle my female chihuahua. Then my cats, grace, Clyde and jack. Thanks for the chance to win.

  17. Sadly we lost our pet this past winter. His name was Charlie and he was the best dog ever! He was a Springbat (Springer-Basset cross) so he looked funny but we loved him!

  18. All of these projects are amazing! The Lawn Fawn paper is so cute! And unfortunately I don't have a pet yet. I am trying to convince my husband to let me have a cat!

  19. I have 2 dogs, Bailey and Chardonnay. I know it sounds like I might be an alcoholic, lol, but I promise I'm not. Bailey was after a favorite character and Chardonnay was in fact after the wine as a way to convince my father to let us get her, since he makes wine I was trying to butter him up to say yes. It worked, lol!

  20. I currently have two dogs, they are littermates (they were the WHOLE litter, so we took both of them). Cooper is one of them, and he is named for Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame. Dobbie is the other one, and he was named Dobbie after the house elf in Harry Potter. My little Dobbie was named for Dobby because when we got him at 8 weeks old, he was all eyes and ears, just like Dobby. And, I put an "ie" at the end instead of a "y" to make it more diminutive since he is a little dog (20 pounds). They are absolutelya dorable, I wish I could show you a picture of them – they are absolutely stunning! And, P.S. I LOVE the "Griffin" layout! THANK YOU for these incredible stamps and designs!! And paper! Oh my!

  21. Lacey because as a kitten she would pull on our shoe laces. Bayley, adopted from our daughter when she moved out of state. And Sophie who wandered by just before a thunderstorm and I could not leave her out in the elements nor later find an owner. All are gone now 🙁 but left fond memories.

  22. Wow! Wonderful layouts….so inspiring!!!! Here we go…Dirk, a dachshund; Scout, a dachshund; Sassy, the cat; Happy, a mix/abandoned dog; and the Border collies – Gus, Elly, ChaCha, Myra.

  23. Great layouts – and great (very informative) video!!!

I purchased the neutral cord, so I will absolutely try this technique!! Love it!

My house feels somewhat like a farm of smaller animals right now, we have a mini-wiener dog named JJ, 2 Guinea Pigs named Sunny & Krystal, and 2 Hermit Crabs named Crappy/Courage (depending which kid you ask) and Hermie :).

  24. I don't have a pet now, but I used to have a Japanese Fighting Fish names Mirage. At 12 years old, I thought that was the coolest name ever for a fish.

  25. Hello! I have two puppies that are Westies (white scottish terriers). Their names are Baxter and Bonnie. Just like your papers, Bright Side, they are my Bright Side of my life.
Those layouts all came out so good. Love the one with circles and banners. So nice with that collection of paper.

  26. The projects today are amazing! I love all those bright butterflies flying up the page in the first layout. We have a dog named Max and a cat named Charlie, both very traditional pet names. We used to have a very hyper Jack Russell terrior named Tyler Marx, box of sparks! hee…

  27. All such adorable layouts!

We have cats named Silly and Tiaterimus, but my favorite pet name of all time is Roadkill. The namesake was a tiny kitten, only a few weeks old, when my sister found him in the middle of the road and brought him home.

  28. Those layouts are so adorable! I have several pets. I have a Sharpei/Shepherd puppy named Zeus. A mutt of some sort named Aspen. I also a grey and white cat named cookie and a calico named Summer.

  29. My Mom has a dog Charlie. I dont have any pet yet, even tho my girls want to have a kitten…lol.
I am speechless with today's creations. TFS

  30. We have two adorable new baby finches named sugar and spice! They join our shetland sheepdog sisters named Star and Angel!

  31. I've had 4 cats over my lifetime, Garfield, Jose, Kitty, and Victor. I've always loved adopting older cats from shelters and so they've all gone off to the "kitty farm". I'm currently looking for my next cat.

  32. we don't have any pets b/c my kids are allergic to cats & dogs but when I was 10 yr old I got my first puppy and I aptly named her Princess. She was by my side and my BFF for 10 fab years. I actually got to hold her when she was born (she was a puppy from my cousins dog next door) and I held her as she took her last breath. Talk about learning the circle of life. <3

  33. When I was little we had a cocker spaniel naned Timmy. Since I have been married we have had 7 dogs, 2 cats, 3 rabbits, a couple of hamsters and probably a fish or two.

  34. We have a 14 yo Lilac Burmese cat called 'Boogie' and her new little sister is called 'Lilith'. They rule our house (maybe it's their house…)
Thanks for the chance to win!

  35. Wow! Scrapbook page layouts! LOVE IT!!

Before we were had children we joked with another couple about some day having "little waldos" (kids), someday. So when we got our yellow lab, we named him Waldo. It fit so well- he was so laid back and loving! Miss him!

  36. GORGEOUS layouts, ladies!!! Kelly Marie, you know how much I love all your videos!!! I leap for joy whenever I see them pop up in my news feeds!! 😀

I don't have any pets, but I used to have a goldfish and called him Nemo (: If I ever get a cute lil dog as a pet, I would name her Dolce! I just adore that name–SO cute! (:

  37. Fun! I love all the ways to personalize the cord to whatever color you need! 🙂 My childhood pet's name was Princess – and she lived up to the name!

  38. I have a dog and her name is Shelby she is my third child because my boys have moved out of the house. I don't know what I would do without her, I depend on her as much as she depends on me 😉

  39. Love these layouts especially Melissa and Melissa's! 🙂 I have 2 dogs at the moment – Atticus (a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Doberman mix) and Jem (a pitbull mix). SWe lost Scout (also a pittie) last year. 🙁 Can you guess what my favourite book is?

  40. We have 3 adorable and precocious dogs. Rufus is the king of the castle, bailey is our love bug and loves to play fetch, Talulah belle is also a cuddler

  41. Wow all these layouts were beautiful and very inspiring for sure!!! I Love what these ladies did with their layouts!

I have a Shih Tzu dog, his name is Tiki and he will be 8 years old in November. He is my little man and I love him dearly!

  42. omg the layouts are gorgeous i love them. i really enjoyed the video on the lawn trimmings it was filled with great ideas.

Hope that comes across as the compliment it's meant to be!!!! Anyway, my pet's names are Mama Kitty and Baby Kitty. Clever names huh? LOL. 😉

  45. Lovely layouts! Super cool way to combine the papers and new fairy tail stamps!
Pet names … when I was very young – 5ish – we had a German Shephard names Fritz. I don't remember much about him, but have heard stories from my older siblings.
Now I have a grand-dog named Winston Boxador that was found on the roadside in Carbondale, and I'm so happy my daughter-in-law & son took him in.
I also have a grand-cat named Biestro who was found purry inside the engine of a Bobcat (construction equipment)when he was 3-4 days old. I'm so happy he was very loud and the workers heard him purring before starting up the equipment.

  46. All the LO's are so beautiful. I have 1 dog – Little Miss Stella, 2 cats – Taz and Bijou, 2 fish – Mr. Whiskers and Killer B. I also have one Angel Dog, his name is Tucker. We had to say good bye last year. Still so very sad.

Thanks again for all the lovely inspiration!

  47. We have two fabulous cats with us: Sissy and Gizmo. Our beloved orange tabby, Tiger, is no longer with us but always in our hearts and minds!

  48. We have two dogs–a miniature pinscher and a catahoula (sorry about the spelling). The mini pin is named Rosie and the catahoula is named Lily. We had found another dog and named her Daisy, but we found her owners after three weeks. Dogs are the only way I can grow a flower garden. LOL

  49. Amazing projects! I have a dog named Abby. And by the way your posts keep saying to come back tomorrow on February something for the next sneak peek instead of March something!

  50. lovely lovely. I had 2 cats, penny and gwen. A friend was shocked that I would have cats teasing me that I should have a penguin instead (I was a penguin collector at the time) so as a bit of a spiteful joke I named the cats as close as I could to penguin

  51. I had two golden retrivers named Scratch and Sniff. The funny thing was, Sniff had horrible skin and always scratched, and Scratch spent most of his time wondering around sniffing. They were the best!

  52. Gorgeous layouts! Love all the inspiration!!! I don't have a pet right now, but when I was a kid I had a hamster named Robbedien, hi hi. At first I wanted to call him Robbedoes, which is a comic character here in the Netherlands, but then I learned he was a she and I changed it to Robbedien! 😀
    Hugs, Wendy

We have a cat named Rex, my son named him after Captain Rex (Star Wars). At first he wanted to call him Jimmy, so Rex was a good compromise. 😉

When people hear that name for the first time, they have to laugh.
