Merry Christmas (a lotl)!

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you are enjoying a lovely holiday!

Christy joins us today to share some sweet axolotl inspiration with you!

Christy used Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire to blend a watery backdrop for a pair of axolotls from our new mini set, I Like (a lotl)! She used Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs to create the look of sand. She splattered more of the oxide ink on the background, then she added sparkle by sprinkling on Liquid Stardust!

Christy stamped all the images with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored them with Copic markers. Then she cut them out using the coordinating dies.

She assembled her adorable scene and finished by stamping the sentiment and bubble hearts in coordinating colors of Distress Oxide ink!

Christy created a video tutorial for this card. To see how she put this little gem together click HERE to visit her YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for sharing this adorable inspiration with us today, Christy!

Lawn Fawn Video {12.24.20} A Merry & Bright Card with Chari and a Fun Stitched Mug Card by Yainea!

First up today we have a very merry and bright card by Chari! She used a rainbow of colors to create a special Christmas card! Check out the video below or click HERE to watch at our YouTube channel.

Thanks so much for watching!

Chari used the Snowy Sky Stencil and some embossing paste to add glittery falling snow on her beautifully ink-blended background! She used a combination of Oliver’s Stitched ABCs and Riley’s ABCs along with Scripty Merry to spell out her cheerful greeting!

I love the happy rainbow colors of cardstock she used; repeating them in the Mini String of Lights, Oliver’s Stitched ABCs and the sweet trees from Shadow Box Card Mountain Add-On! She added more glitter by cutting Scripty Merry and the Stitched Hillside Border from Sparkle cardstock!

And now we have a fun card design that is also a gift by Yainea!

Yainea used the Stitched Mug Frame to create a pocket to tuck in the makings of yummy peppermint hot cocoa! It’s a hot beverage gift in a card that’s perfect to give all winter long!

She decorated the card with stenciling using the Snowflake Trio! Then she framed it all with a Let It Shine striped Reverse Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Window! Tuck little bags of hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows in the “mug” and include a candy cane to delight someone special!

Big thanks to Chari and Yainea for inspiring us today!

Mini Box Dioramas with Grace Featuring A Creature Was Stirring!

Grace has a special project to share with you today! She created 3 mini dioramas using our Fancy Box die set! These light-hearted little scenes feature mice from A Creature Was Stirring, Crazy Antics and You’re Just My Type!

To decorate the outside of these amazing little boxes, Grace created shaker elements! She combined Stitched Scalloped Circle Frames with For You from the new Shutter Card Add-On set. She filled the shakers with Chunky Glitter for lots of sparkle to complement the Let It Shine papers!

Grace die cut 2 Fancy Boxes for each diorama; one she used to create the box. She used the other one as the cover from which she removed the side flaps. She decorated the inside of the box as a background for the scene and cut a rectangle window from the lid. To help build dimension for the scene inside the box, Grace made cardstock spacers using the measurements in the photo above.

Once she built the tiny scenes inside the assembled boxes she added a Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frame to coordinate with the Let It Shine paper she used to make the box. For this one she combined Cream Sprinkle ‘n Shine with creamy shimmer cardstock.

To add even more shine, Grace embossed the Christmas greeting from Shutter Card Holiday Sayings with pretty gold embossing powder!

Grace used layers of foam adhesive and the cardstock spacers to fill these little dioramas with lots of action! The cute little mice are stirring up some yummy Christmas treats!

Grace filled in the scenes with fun images from Baked with Love!

Each little scene is a mini masterpiece! These definitely qualify as “keepers” to be cherished by the recipient and displayed for years to come!

These mini gems are the perfect size to tuck in a loved one’s Christmas stocking!

Thanks so much for sharing this clever and creative project with us today, Grace! Your Fancy Box mini dioramas are so amazing!
