Jessica’s Scootin’ By Birthday Card

We can’t wait to start sharing all of the amazing new products we have been working on! Summer Release Week starts on Wednesday June 16 with our Big Giveaway Post! We hope you will join us, we are so excited!

Our Fawnie, Jessica joins us today to share a super cute Scootin’ By birthday card design!

Jess gave her background a beautiful watercolor look using Distress Oxide inks in Salvaged Patina, Rustic Wilderness and Twisted Citron. She used the ink smooshing technique on the Puffy Cloud Border tree top and the sun as well!

She die cut the Grassy Border in just a bit from the side of the background so that she could tuck the Little Picket Fence Border and Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop behind it. It’s such a fun way to add some detail and interest.

She stamped the images from Scootin’ By and Virtual Friends Add-On with Jet Black ink. Then she colored them with Copic markers, adding lots of character! I love how the little mouse is hiding behind the flap in the tree ready to send birthday wishes!

Jess finished the greeting from the card front on the inside using Magic Messages! She filled in the open letters with a white gel pen for some subtle definition!

Thank you for sharing this adorable card with us today, Jess! I love the special design details you created!

  1. I love the card. Loved the little mouse popping out to say happy birthday…
I am learning so much from all the cards you post. I just made a card with the palm trees and hammock with the little fox laying on it… on the outside of the card I put “Your density awaits… it is a Father’s day card.

  2. Dear LF and Jessica – Such a great card!! Thanks for sharing. I especially loved the effects of the ink smooshing!
