Design Team Inspiration

The design team has made the most amazing samples! We also have two videos at the end filled with inspiring ideas for using these new sets! Remember to click on the person’s name to see all of the details and leave these wonderful DT girls some comment love!

Audrey‘s beachy card is so awesome! It makes me impatient for summer to get here! She started with a beautiful watercolor background before building an amazing beach scene. She arranged Palm Trees and some images from Life is Good, then she layered the Giant Hello Sunshine on top. I think the black and white of the die cut make it look so amazing!

Grace created an interactive card that is just so amazing! She layered lots of Puffy Cloud Borders on a Sunburst Backdrop before adding Giant Hello Sunshine!

Then she made this card really special by having an Outside In Stitched Sun pop-up out of the clouds! So special!

Elise’s design is so summery, I just love the colors she chose! With the bright yellow sunray stenciled in the background and the cool aqua of the Giant Hello Sunshine, this card says “summer”! I also love how she used the pastel colors of the Spiffy Speckles paper to fill in the letters!

The Super Star mice are so cute with the Embroidery Hoop Star Add-On! And Megan‘s little scene looks so great with the Dotted Moon and Stars Backdrop!

Elena combined Giant Hello Sunshine with Fly High to create a beautiful design! The cheery colors are special and I also love the pretty cloud pattern stenciled in the background!

Latisha‘s card is so creative! She used lots of sweet summer colors with the Fall Leaves Background Stencils and it looks so pretty! It’s so perfect as a backdrop for the bright pink Giant Hello Sunshine!

With a smiling sun peeking through the clouds, Giant Hello Sunshine is the perfect greeting! Tammy‘s rainbow colored Beary Rainy Day scene is so much fun!

This card by Mindy makes me so happy! I love the Lots of Stars stenciled in the background in a fun rainbow of colors! And her embroidered star is so pretty as the focal point of this design!

Melissa‘s card is so fun! The happy colors and bright yellow Giant Hello Sunshine are so eye-catching! And I love how she used just the “sunshine” frame without filling in the letters!

Marine started this adorable card with Rainy Backdrop with Spring Showers clouds and sun layered on top. Then she added the Giant Hello Sunshine filled with colorful Really Rainbow paper! The gold glitter looks so cool layered on the scripty hello!

This card by Mindy is so full of sunshine! She used Sunray Stencil to add sunny yellow, then she used rainbow colors to fill in the letters!

Yainea‘s card is so happy! The Really Rainbow paper on Giant Hello Sunshine looks so fun! I also love the rainbow washi tape accenting each side!

Caly stitched up a colorful star for her amazing card! I love the Dotted Moon and Stars Backdrop with Really Rainbow paper showing through. She found the perfect sentiment in the So Jelly mini set!

  1. I think a flower would be nice, a present (I admit I am not sure how to create such a small bow but I am sure you would find a way) or a Christmas tree.

    1. These are so cute! I am loving reading everyone’s ideas. I am thinking some simple stitch words. Could be single lined. Like thank you or hello. Maybe with a mini flower shape.

    1. Seasonal item, like a pumpkin, school house, snowflake, flip, flops, etc… loving all of the ideas.

  2. I would love to see faux embroidery stamp sets for the embroidery hoop. Like images made of little X’s and dashes to look like seeing without actually sewing lol

  3. Perhaps an oak leaf or maple leaf would work for the embroidery hoop. Absolutely love today’s projects from the DT!!, they are all packed full of sunshine and happiness!!

  4. Happy Mother’s Day!
I would love to see a butterfly, bee, rose.
I also would love seasonal items – Jack o lantern, ghost, pumpkin, turkey,
Christmas tree, Santa Claus, reindeer, snowman, heart, love, 4leaf clover,
    Easter bunny or basket.

  5. An acorn – the squirrel from Ice Age just came to my mind stitching an acorn just to finally get a hold of one 😀

  6. I am loving the look of the Giant Hello Sunshine! There is so much you can do with that! I think a coffee cup would be a great addition to the embroidery hoop collection!

  7. LOVE the embroidery hoop! The star add on is awesome! I’d like to see a butterfly and coffee/cocoa mug, as a start. Do you have any patterns to use with the full circle? That would be awesome, too.

  8. I’ve had my eye on that sentiment die! And what a surprise – a new embroidery design. I love the idea of a cupcake or a balloon for a birthday . . . or maybe a few birthday candles? With fall around the corner, wondering about a pumpkin or leaf! And then winter . . . endless possibilities.

  9. A flower, a bee, a butterfly, a snowflake, a Christmas ornament, or a short word, like hi, hello, or love.

  10. Embroidery hoops for the different holidays.
Halloween would be a fun set.
    thanks for sharing.

  11. Love the new star hoop and the “hello sunshine”! I think some holiday ones would be fun. Pumpkin/jack-o-lantern, spider, christmas tree, and a dreidel.

  12. I do so many birthday cards I would say anything I could use on a birthday or celebration card!

  13. That “Sunshine” will be so sweet as an addition to my collection. That is perfect for my nickname for a couple of people in my life. Will look so good on their cards. Great!

  14. So cute! I’m obsessed with your adorable mini embroidery hoop designs. Halloween themes would be cute. Fall leaves. Christmas present, tree, florals. All year long florals. Birthday present.

  15. A hexagon, to go with the bee theme. A triangle that could be used as a tree. Or a square.

  16. Love the new release! Also loving the ideas shared already like a birthday cake and flower. How about fruits like an apple or strawberry?

  17. Hello sunshine!! Love this!! And the embroidery star so cute! I think a present or a flower.
    Always love the inspiration!

  18. I would love a cat, a ladybug, a seashell, a leaf, a pansy or another flower. That’s all I can think of right now. I’m sure whatever you make next will be amazing!

  19. A partridge. It took a year to complete but for Christmas one year I crossed stitched 12 sets of “The Twelve Days Of Christmas” characters to place on 4” embroidery hoops as ornaments for their trees. It would be great to repeat this as a set of 12 cards to send out as gifts to family and friends.

  20. I’m not as big a fan of the cross stitch, but maybe a sun and/or moon. But I love the “Hello Sunshine” die!!!

  21. Beautiful samples!
I’d love to see a ghost design and a pumpkin! And a snowflake would be beautiful!

  22. Your design team has done it again – beautiful cards!! Love the new embroidery hoop add on – perhaps follow up the
celestial theme with a sun or moon.

  23. Loving the new stitching trend on cardstock.

A flamingo/ tropical set, or cactus/desert set as well as any holiday theme. Looking forward to seeing what you develop.

  24. The first things that popped into my mind are baby items – maybe a simple cradle/bassinet, booties, a bib, or a rattle.

  25. Some seasonal items (acorn, snowflakes, flowers, beach ball) would be good to have. I also like the idea of an old-fashioned sampler.

  26. A hexagon would bee great for all the bees!
A leaf for all the bugs and flower stamps!
A snowflake or X-mas light for the holidays!
A diamond gem shape. Imagine with a sparkle thread!
A callout outline we could stamp a greeting in the middle of. With coordinating everyday greeting stamp set. Happy birthday. Hey, friend! Miss you. A happy hello. Happy holidays. Merry Christmas.
    A pineapple.
    A palm tree.
    A sunshine.
    A pumpkin.

  27. I’m loving all these suggestions. For me I’d like get well items, bandaid stethoscope pills cast crutch even. Wait for it……….. stitches. Ha . Thanks this is fun!

  28. Love the sunshine sentiment. I’m not much of a sewer, but I would love to get one of these cards! I would like to see a flower, Christmas tree, holly.

  29. Love the Hello Sunshine!! Something beachy for the hoop. Beach ball, shells, or sandels

  30. I would love to see things for Mom for the embroidery hoop, tea cups, flowers etc. Also would love things for every season.

  31. Oh my, I love, love, love your embroidery hoop designs! I think the holiday related designs are terrific – as long they are released well in time to complete, lol.

  32. Classic Christmas icons! I love love love the font of the “Sunshine” in the new hello sunshine die and hope you do more things with that font!!

  33. Oooo. For embroidery hoop wishes, I like
I ❤️U, and an alphabet of smaller letters that can be cross-stitched to form short phrasses, like BUG OFF! or THANKS. (Yes, I do live in a binary world: I❤️U / GO AWAY) Ha ha ha

  34. I like the idea of a snowflake or Christmas tree. Any of your cute animals…..a pumpkin, fall leaves, a sunflower….I could go on and on!

  35. I’m loving the new products shown today!!! I would love to see cherries for the embroidery hoop or a hello. I better use the rainbow one hoop soon!!

  36. A house for housewarming and a tree would be so cute with different seasons… also think you could make a set of stamps that are floral that look like stitches or little stamped stitch sayings for those of us who do not sew.

  37. Seasonal item, like a pumpkin, school house, snowflake, flip, flops, etc… loving all of the ideas.

  38. There are some wonderful ideas listed in the comments.
Before reading the ideas listed I thought of a flower, or a kitten. But I do like the ideas of a sun, butterfly or a word.

  39. I think it would be fun to have a pumpkin/jack-o’-lantern for Halloween. A Christmas tree for Christmas or even a candy cane. Things to celebrate the holidays. Fireworks. Etc.

  40. I would like lots of different flowers in the embroidery add-ons, and maybe some words of sayings, even some sampler like ones

  41. sun … everyone needs more sunshine in their lives …. a Christmas tree and snowflake would be a nice addition too

  42. For a mini-release – it is jam-packed with goodness. Love everything I’ve seen so far.
Regarding the embroidery hoop, aside from the seasonal suggestions others have made,
I like the idea of a house, sun and flower, basically things you would typically see on
    an embroidered or cross-stitched design.

  43. I love the embroidery hoop and can think of a hundred ideas for add-ons; seasonal/holiday icons, as well as some simple scripty uplifting words like love, joy, peace, hope, smile, etc., would be useful.

  44. Very cute cards and love the embroidery hoop star. I would add small images (eg. small stars, hearts, leaves, vines) or sayings (eg. Be strong, I believe in you).

  45. I would be surprised if this didn’t come out in your next release but a Christmas tree, a stocking, Santa hat, etc.

  46. I love embroidery: ornament, tulip, ghost, pumpkin, santa hat, clock, balloon, party horn, stocking, tree, present.

  47. Loving the new Hello Sunshine! Seasonal items would be fun to embroider like sun, flower, balloon, pumpkin, tree, etc.

  48. I’m likely not going to get time to sew but love the look… so I’d like to see embroidery stamps for lazy people like me!

  49. I love how cross-stitch companies will often offer monthly designs….so my vote is monthly. 😀 Snowflake for January, Heart for February, Shamrock is March, Rainbow April…etc.

  50. I’d love to see patterns for words and sentiments to stitch. I’d also like to see a jar of honey.

  51. I’d love to see a butterfly, a bee, Christmas ornament, pumpkin. But I could honestly make these without a specific die and use the original round embroidery hoop with a regular cross stitch pattern.

  52. wow, i love the Hello sunshine..so perfect for creating a fun card. Love the star add-on as well! Really loving this release!

  53. A Christmas tree, flowers, or sun. Also like the idea to see faux embroidery stamp sets for the embroidery hoop for times when you don’t have time to sew.

  54. I think there could be a lot of cute embroidery set items, but since Halloween is my favorite holiday, I would love to see things related to that.

  55. I would love to see a pumpkin for Halloween or a present for christmas time! I also think a flower would be super cute!! Maybe fruits too!

  56. Adorable cards shared by the team today! A heart, square gift box, animal faces or simple flowers will be great!

  57. Please create a little cat embroidery hoop! 😍

A snowflake and a pumpkin will be great for later in the year too.

  58. I definitely think some vintage floral designs would be perfect with the embroidery hoop! So you can create beautiful vintage/traditional embroidery designs!

  59. Oh so many things! different animals would be cute, a butterfly came to mind first but maybe different foods to match some of the other stamp sets.

  60. I can think of so many things for the Embroidery Hoop Add On.

Flowers…Sea Life (coral, shells) … Fruit

There’s so much more but this is a start.

  61. I have Lawn Fawn’s embroidery hoop and heart. I suggest Tea or Coffee cup (with the saucer). In fact, I’m planning to just make myself the one without having a die, just stitching on the one I have, but am not sure whether it’s possible or not. So, that’s my suggestion! I love this BIG Hello Sunshine die. In fact, believe it or not, I just bought a Kate Spade watch which says “Hello Sunshine”!! lol I LOVE this sentiment! <3 <3 <3

  62. Dear LF –
I think a sun/moon set would be terrific. I also think that some sort of a large-ish flower like a tulip or a big daisy (think of the paper-piece gnome and whether he could fit next to it or under it) would be good.
    Lori S in PA

  63. I have a few suggestions for the embroidery hoop. A flower would be cute. Some seasonal items, like a Christmas tree, bunny face, Thanksgiving turkey or cornucopia, Fourth of July fireworks. A picture frame so that we can add stamped and die cut critters. A grassy border so we can build scenes. A house. I really like the die that die cuts a grid of dots, so maybe some patterns with mice, bears, etc so we can make our own scenes on the die cut panel.

  64. Christmas tree; letters; shamrock; sun; daisy flower; sign language i love you sign with fingers

  65. I’d love to see a lighthouse and sea creatures (crab, fish, dolphin, seashells), a palm tree, an umbrella, an engagement ring, Christmas tree and Christmas bells. So many fun little items that would work!

  66. The embroidery hoop is such a fun die set & the Hello Sunshine font is amazing!! I think that maybe a snowflake(s) would be sick a fun thing to incorporate with this die!!

  67. Fun monthly icons would be cute for the hoop add-on – Like snowflakes, hearts shamrocks etc for a calander type home decor

  68. How about different types of flowers? Or maybe some simple/short sentiments? For you, just a note, thanks, hi there, hello, happy bday

  69. My ideas for Embroidery Hoop Add-Ons are a Christmas Tree and a Candle with tiny streamers for birthdays. These will be cute for cards and banners, easy to stitch.
They’ll coordinate with Lawn Fawn’s current Add-Ons, too. When making banners, different Embroidery Hoop Add-Ons can be put on each end with letters between them. :
    )

  70. Love the ideas of snowflake, birthday cake, fall leaf, but what I think would be awesome is A PATTERN BOOKLET TO USE WITH THE BLANK HOLES DIE!! I’m obsessed and have gotten so many cute ideas from the Lawn Fawn Addicts facebook group 🙂 Everyone who has done one, PLEASE add your photo to the “album” in that group 🙂 I have seriously done like 20 of these or more 😉 LOVE IT SO MUCH!!

  71. I’m with all those that said seasonal, flag, sun, leaves, pumpkin, bat, turkey, Christmas tree, holly, ornaments, presents, hearts, shamrocks, and Easter eggs.

  72. I love the big Sunshine die! The embroidery hoop has endless possibilities. I can think of a bunch of ideas for just a heart alone. I would want a tree for Christmas.

  73. You could go Holiday mode for embroidery add on- pumpkin, leaves, christmas tree. easter egg, shamrock,

  74. Maybe a flower, butterfly or lady bug. Anything!! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!! That star is a must in my stash!!

  75. Sadly using my embroidery hoop die(s) is an ongoing battle… shims, upside down die, right side up die, precision plate, new die cutting machine, new set of the dies all to no avail. Maybe an instruction video showing the best way to use the die in a Big Shot or similar manual machine would help? I love everything Lawn Fawn, and if I were going to create an embroidery hoop die it would be a beehive.

  76. I’m wishing for some Christmas ones to use to decorate with – like different Christmas ornaments, snowflakes and trees!

  77. Fantastic suggestions already
I love the idea of some Lawn Fawn critters, flowers and a Christmas tree
    Great cards from the DT!

  78. I’d really love to see another basic add on with smaller distance between each hole so we can create even more intricate designs. But otherwise I’d love to see a snowflake set for Christmas or a snowman.

  79. The embroidery hoop definitely allows more customization.

Palm trees, bubbles, various flowers, zodiac signs. Hopefully those give some insight! 😀

  80. Birthday cake, party hat, gift to make a lot of birthday cards.
And of course a Christmas tree or snowflake should not be missing on a Christmas card!

  81. LOVE the new Giant Hello Sunshine and Embroidery Hoop Star Add-On! Both are fantastic!
re “suggestions for Embroidery Hoop add-on sets” — how about a silhouetted cat? Or a bow, cupcake, and simple flower motif?

  82. I love the new Giant Hello Sunshine!!! Please keep coming out with these Giant Messages! They are my favorite.
I make 5×7 cards and these are perfect on those!!

  83. A paper airplane with a trail to be able to say safe travels, love you from afar, bon voyage, sending love, moving day, we’ve moved, etc.

  84. How about Seasonal Icons…Holly, candy canes, Christmas tree, snowman for Christmas and a menorah for Hanukkah

  85. I would love a pumpkin for the fall. One that I could use for both Fall cards and then as faces for Jack-O-Lanterns!

  86. The “Hello Sunshine” dies are so fun!! I think a cupcake would make a nice addition to the embroidery hoop!

  87. Such great cards and inspiration! I think a fun embroidery hoop add-on would be a sunflower. It would be fun to make the knobby flower center, and the beautiful long yellow petals. That would be so pretty!

  88. I just love the embroidery hoops. I definitely think we need a deer embroidery design. 😉 and maybe a maple leaf or autumn leaf for a fall add-on?

  89. Love to have flower or moon. Also it would be fun to have zoom up of Lawn fawn critters face or full body.

  90. Ohhhh, I’d love to see a 4 leaf clover, simple words, like hello, thanks, great, Birthday, etc. A flower, butterfly, party hat, bird, graduation cap! Just to name a few!

  91. The embroidery star add on is my favorite in this release because I like to stitch. Looking forward to add this to my craft stash. How about adding sentiments to stich on.

  92. I think faux cross stitch stamps that you can either just stamp or stitch if you want. Like the beginner cross stitch designs that have the x’s already in place and you just stitch over them.

  93. I would love to see the following embroidery hoops; Fawn, a dog, a bear, a lion, a tiger, a Christmas tree, a poinsettia, a haunted house..the possibilities are endless.

  94. Love the hello sunshine! Love in the demo how each letter is a different color, it really makes the sentiment pop!
