Fawny Holiday Video

Joy created the most whimsical Christmas card featuring the new Christmas Stocking! You can watch her video tutorial below or click HERE to watch at our YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for watching Joy’s tutorial! We hope you have been inspired by our videos this week!

Joy created a whimsical Christmas Stocking filled with so much color and fun! She used a Lacy Rectangle as a backdrop with shiny All the Sparkles paper. I love how the sentiment from Window Scene: Winter fills the space at the top of the card.

Joy filled the Cozy Sweater stenciled stocking with one of the Gingerbread Friends and cute holiday die-cuts from Build-A-Critter Christmas Accessories. The holographic “jingle bells” look so shiny! And there’s more colorful detail from the Mini String of Lights she wove around the stocking!

More Design Team Inspiration

How amazing are Mona‘s holiday bookmarks featuring Build-A-Fox! She built them on the little tags from Tassel Tag, tying on a Nordic Border with thin gold cord. Mona added sweet details to the fox and cat with holiday images from Build-A-Critter Christmas Accessories. There is also a pretty pink bow from Christmas Garland.

Franci was “dreaming of a ‘mice’ Christmas” while creating this charming card! She featured Caroling Mice in a cute scene on an Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle, then she layered it on a Stitched Snowflake Backdrop panel!

Lynnette gathered all the Cozy Cats in a beautiful Christmas card design! She framed the cats and Giant Be Merry with a Winter Wonderland Window and stamped the sentiment on a Stitched Sentiment Banner. Then she included holiday greenery and a big red bow!

Our Cheery Deer is so cute on Yainea’s Giant Be Merry holiday card! She layered them on a vellum strip, which she added to a String of Lights Background stenciled panel. I love the hint of red striped All the Sparkles paper as a border.

Marine‘s creative Christmas design features a Big Messages: Christmas sentiment in a pretty snow globe shaped card. She used Magic Iris Snow Globe Add-On for the base with a Stitched Circle Frame for the globe. And then she wrapped the snow globe base with a red bow from Platform Pop-Up.

Inside the card is a frosty and fun Caroling Mice scene! There is Santa and his reindeer in the All the Sparkles starry sky.

Marine continued the Christmas greeting to the inside, stamping a Caroling Mice sentiment on a Big Messages: Christmas coordinating scalloped circle die.

  1. I’ve made a wreath of Christmas balls and lights years ago. It is my first handmade decoration and I’m still using it every Christmas.

  2. When I was a kid, we each had “stick horses” on the tree. The 🐴 head was made of felt and embellishments that acted like an upside down U pocket. A large curved candy cane was the stick and would be placed in the pocket/horse head each year. After the tree came down, we got to eat the candy.

  3. When my daughter was in kindergarten, she made a painted handprint Christmas tree banner on burlap and decorated with pompoms, and plaid ribbon. I love hanging it up every year.

  4. It’s the first ornament I created ever since I started buying Lawn Fawn stamps, with the mice decorating the tree. It’s four years old now, and I’ve created few more after, but that one is still my fav!

  5. My mother made a glass bead Christmas tree in a glass dome. It’s beautifully decorated, with lots of miniature gifts under the tree..

  6. I go to a wreath making workshop with my friend at the beginning of December, that’s probably my best handmade decoration 🙂

  7. My daughter’s preschool had them make us a wreath of handprints, with thumbprint holly berries, in a piece of muslin. The edge was folded over and sewn so that a thin dowel could go through it. It hangs on the wall every year. Her hands were so little twenty years ago!

  8. I love the ornaments my kids made at school that involve tracing their hands or using their fingers. So fun for them to see how small they were and how big they’ve gotten!

  9. When my children were little we strung painted pasta shells with yarn to make a garland for our tree. I still have most of this garland 30 years later!

  10. Every year I hand paint an ornament for family and friends. Usually ends up being about 20 ornaments. This year’s ornament is a little reindeer promoting love. : ). It brings me a lot of joy to make these ornaments and I’ve done so many, my friends almost need a separate tree just for my ornaments!! I’m so glad they enjoy them.

  11. My son made a wreath with rice and glue in kindergarten almost 20 years ago. It must weigh 2 pounds and it’s huge but I love it so much.

  12. I have a wreath made by son when he was in Kindergarten. It is made of plastic baggies. The ugliest most precious thing ever!

  13. I love the small ceramic ornaments for the tree that my MIL Carol made years ago when she took a class. They are dainty and so prettily painted. I sometimes hang them on the handles of our kitchen cabinets so that they don’t get lost on the tree.
I love everything you’ve shared this week! Thanks!!! Your DT is sensational and brilliant!

  14. My favorite decorations (I couldn’t say one) – the ornaments the mother’s club made us each year in elementary school (my dad cut out the Christmas trees from wood for our kindergarten ornament) and the Ceramic Santa, sleigh, and reindeer my great aunt made. She always had this on the table at our family Christmas party. My mom got it when she passed away, but unfortunately it fell off our mantle a couple years ago and all the reindeer broke.

  15. I have a holiday globe made with clear plastic cups and colored lights. It’s hard to describe, but it’s a treasure to me and brings back so many family memories.

  16. Every year we make ornaments for Christmas. Last year I stamped the little Lawn Fawn reindeer on wooden circles and used color pencils to add color.

  17. I made holiday decorations for my new home 32 years ago using shades of pink/mauve, gold & iridescent
to create outside & inside wreaths, garlands, ornaments, ribbons, stockings & tree skirt. I also designed
an arrangement with 2 reindeers with twinkling lights pulling a sled holding a Santa Clause with gift bag
filled with presents & flower arrangement! 💖

  18. Special handmade ornaments are ones I crocheted and go near bottom of the Christmas tree because we have 2 German Shepherds that have swishy tails. Some have jingle bells on them so I can hear & know when the dogs have been near the tree.

  19. I have hand-painted personalized ornaments once for my daughters whole dance team and another time I made an entire snowfamily ornament set for my MIL (it depicted all the couples/people in our family!)

  20. I have hand-painted personalized ornaments once for my daughters whole dance team and another time I made an entire snowfamily ornament set for my MIL (it depicted all the couples/people in our family!)

  21. I have many handmade ornaments that I make for my family each year, my favorite are the gingerbread ones I made this year!

  22. We have a wall hanging advent calendar with pockets and Velcro numbers that I made for my children many years ago. Now my grandkids have fun with it when they visit!

  23. I don’t have a favorite handmade holiday decoration, but I’ll tell you about one from the past that stands out in my mind. When I was a kid, my first crochet project was a giant granny square that somehow grew a fifth corner. I had NO IDEA what I was doing with crochet! I made the granny square in red, white and green yarn because that’s what my crochet teacher had on hand at the time. The granny square wasn’t really big enough to be a blanket. I didn’t specifically intend it to be a holiday decoration, but my mom decided to use it for a Christmas tree scarf. The way she wrapped it around the tree, you really couldn’t tell it was wonky and had a fifth corner. She used it every December for years!

  24. I made an ornament a few years back with some Lawn Fawn products. I made a little scene with the critters in a plastic bulb and added some fake snow. I still love it!

  25. Gosh I don’t have 1 single ornament. My grandma tatted and when she passed away I took the tatting thread and gave it to a special friend who tatted and crocheted snowflakes that we hang on our tree. I feel like my grandma is with us as we decorate the tree.. (nice memories). I also have the Christmas ornament celebrating my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary and my dad’s Santa light bulb (it doesn’t light up anymore) but I made it into an ornament and it hangs on our tree too. One year my friend and I made Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudolph felt ornaments and those always bring a smile when we hang them. The design team has really outdone themselves…love it all!!!!

  26. I have my 2 ceramic nativities one created by my mom and the other one by my mother-in-law. They are both gone now so they are extra special to me.

  27. Years ago I made some fabric Christmas trees in holiday prints for my mom and my best friend – they both still have them!

  28. Too many favorites to pick just one. Both of my Grandma’s used to make ornaments and so I have many special handmade ornaments on the tree each year.

  29. Every year we hang up paper snowflakes my kids made when they were little. They still remember which ones are theirs and it’s fun to talk and laugh about those fun memories 😊

  30. It’s a garland with Santas and presents. Originally made of wood I copied it several times using foam plates that I cut and colored

  31. My favorite ornament I made is with glitter on the inside with an angel stamped on vellum that was on the inside of the ornament as well. It was one of the first projects I made when I started stamping!

  32. My favorite homemade holiday decoration is a clear glass ornament with fake snow inside and a snowman face painted on the outside.

  33. I like the handmade tree skirts. I made one for each of my daughters and one for myself. Now that my granddaughter is older, she asked if I was going to make her one.

  34. I made some ornaments out of jar lids and they were my absolute favorite! I covered them with material and added an image

  35. My favorite handmade decorations are my kids little “First Christmas” stockings that I made! One is crewel embroidery and the other is counted cross stitch. Those stockings have a place of honor on our fireplace mantel every year!

  36. My favorite handmade holiday decoration is a garland my oldest daughter made when she was a little kid. Makes me so happy when I put it on the tree each year,

  37. It was a little plastic angle that I colored on and gave to my Grandpa before he passed. I have it now and put it up every year ✌🏽

  38. My daughter and I made Christmas-themed family portraits from polymer clay at a local studio a few years ago – they are so cute and I love getting them out for the holidays every year.

  39. Years ago I made a lion & lamb ornament set that is my absolute favorite.
They go on the front of the tree to show off every year!

  40. My favorite is a little clothespin royal guard made by my husband when he was a child. I make sure that gets on the tree each year.

  41. My daughter and I made blue and white ornaments with blue and white tissue paper that she ordered. We both have a lot of blue/white decor inn our homes…..they turned out beautiful and were less expensive that retail stores for something similar.

  42. I have this unique puffy stuffed 3D tree that was a gift from a lovely lady when i got my first real job. I’ve hung it up every Christmas and it always makes me smile.

  43. My favorite handmade decor is an ornament my niece made! It’s a snowman holding hands with it’s snowman family. It’s paper, so I try to protect it as much as I can.

  44. Adorable projects today! Loving the Holiday Week inspirations!
My favorite ornaments are a set of two angels that one of my aunts made many, many years ago.

  45. When we were kids my grandma would make sugar cookies that we would all decorate, my dad would drill a hole in the top, and we would hang them on the tree. We looked forward to making those decorations every year.

  46. My favorite are the glass bulb ornaments my mom and dad used to paint. I still have one remaining Santa bulb that hasn’t broken.

  47. My parents had a artsy friend who years ago gave them some handmade ornaments. Since my parents didn’t do trees, they were given to me. They are beautiful angels and I think they are the nicest ornaments I have ever seen!

  48. ALL! I love ALL my decorations! It would be like to pick your favorite kid! I only have one kid, so that’s easy. But decorations for the Holidays, no no, Can’t pick one. 😂

  49. Favorite decorations are cookie-cutter-cut-out ornaments made from a mixture of applesauce and cinnamon and liquid glue…non-edible, but oh so fragrant and cute. Love all the cards and projects featured all Inspiration Week.

  50. My husband painted sand dollars as Christmas decorations and I added the ribbon to hang them on our Christmas tree. Now I treasure them each year since he passed away as I hang them on the tree. I also have a ceramic nativity set my father made years ago that I treasure as I set that out each Christmas. Precious family memories.

  51. My childrens and grandkids Christmas projects that they have made when little. I save them and put them out for Christmas.

  52. Our neighbor used to hand paint plaster ornaments. I have a bunch of them from when we were kids. I love the vintage vibe they give!

  53. I made a dimensional nativity scene card using stocking fabric over 3 decades ago. Sadly, I do not think I will be able to re-create it because I do not recall how I did it.

  54. My favorite handmade ornaments are ones from my kids’ preschool. They include popsicle stick Santas, painted pasta-noodle Xmas trees and angels, and felt gingerbread person ornaments. I’ve repaired a few of these treasures many times and will continue to do so – love the memories of my kids when they were little!

  55. My favorite handmade ornaments are the ones my husband made in elementary school many years ago. They feature his school picture from each year.

  56. My favorite is the wood standing Christmas trees that my boys made when they were little. I put them up every year. They are getting a little rough around the edges, but the ric rack , sequins are hanging on there!

  57. My mother died when I was in 4th grade. I have a ceramic elf she made that makes me think of her when I put it out.

  58. When I was a child, my mom used to make sugar ornaments for the Christmas tree. We used a mold to form the bells and c used a spoon to scrape out the extra sugar. The sugar made them sparkle in the glow of the tree lights. 😊

  59. Some of my favorite ornaments are one my kids made was a tiny angel made out of macaroni that was 30 years ago. I still hang it on the tree to this day. Ornaments I’ve made that are Santa, Stocking, Snowflake shaker ornaments with sequins that are painted with stickles glitter glue. All bring back so many emotional memories and love and joy to the holidays.
