Hello and welcome to the first post of Lawn Fawn’s Spring release week! We are just so excited about this week! We are featuring three stamp sets, dies and the Pink Lemonade paper collection, and we will have fun posts and giveaways and lots of inspiration! These products will all be available on February 21st!
Today is our showcase of “Summertime Charm”. This 4″ x 6″ set is such a great go-to set. It is so fun! The design team has made the most amazing samples! We also have a little video on the bottom showcasing some fun ways of using the set!
Remember to click on the person’s name or card to see all of the details and leave these wonderful DT girls some comment love! 🙂
Chari‘s card is gorgeous! She used the new Pink Lemonade papers along with the stamps from Summertime Charm. I love how she stamped on vellum and created adorable pinwheels from the fruit in this set! So brilliant!
I just love Lynnette‘s coloring and shading of the jar. The idea of a colored lid is so cute! She used the fireflies and their “glow” stamp, and some Pink Lemonade Lawn Trimmings. This would be a great card to do for mass reproduction!
Elena‘s card is beautiful! I love how she used Pink Lemonade papers and stickers. That label sticker looks great layered behind the jar, and I love the Lawn Trimmings tied around the lid. The scallop stamp is great over the label, like she did here, or at the top of the jar. I love that you can hand write in the label, too. This is great for personalization!
I love how Latisha kept it simple and gorgeous with just paper piecing with Pink Lemonade papers and black stamping. I love the country charm feel of this card! Doilies are the perfect touch for this set!
Kim‘s layout is so sweet! She die cut Pink Lemonade papers and used the stickers, also. Her small jar was cut from the paper, and her large jar was stamped with Summertime Charm. I just love the confetti hearts at the top. That is a perfect way to use the icons in this set!
I just love Kim‘s pleated paper and paper pieced label. She used the new Daphne’s Closet papers! It was so clever to use the firefly “glow” as a frame for the heart, and I just love that Pink Lemonade hello sticker!
Yainea‘s card is so beautiful! She shows that lots of other Lawn Fawn stamp sets would look great in the jar! Those Flutter By butterflies are perfect for this! She has a layer of vellum down, her stamped butterfly, and then a layer of acetate. It has the glow of a jar. Genius! I love her layering of Pink Lemonade papers and sweet paper piecing, too!
Make sure you click on each of the design team’s names or pictures to go to their blogs and see the details of how they made their cards. You will walk away inspired for sure!

Nancy from Happy Heart Studio works with us here behind the scenes at Lawn Fawn. We are so lucky to have her! I just had to share this gorgeous Judy’s Blooms and Grand Greetings card. She really made these sets shine! Isn’t that watercolor gorgeous? I love that it looks like it was a background stamp! Thanks for sharing this beautiful card with us, Nancy!
Hello, everyone! We are SO excited about this week, and that is because we are teaming up with our friends at Operation Write Home! Operation Write Home is an organization that sends blank handmade cards to deployed service members so they can write home to their families. As of March 2012, they’ve sent 1.7 MILLION cards! How amazing is that?!
This week we are focusing on creating cards for deployed service members to send home to their kids, nieces, nephews, etc. We love the idea of creating cards for kids, and we think Lawn Fawn is perfect for that! 🙂 We are going to have lots of cards to inspire you to create for Operation Write home both here and on the Operation Write Home blog, and we have a fun contest on this post where you can show off your awesome cards!
Melissa S.’s card is too cute! Bright layered papers and a critter is perfect for kids, and the collage look means it could work for an older child, too! Awesome!
Operation Write Home shared a quote with us that I thought was really powerful and might motivate you to create some cute kids cards!
“To tell you how your cards have made a difference to my family, I’d like to share with you a little about me. My husband and I have 3 daughters; 6, 12, and 16 years old. Our 6 yr old barely remembers my last deployment (thankfully) as she was only 2 then. Our older 2 girls are blind. With your tactile designs, I have written my girls quite often, always taking care and extensive deliberation over which cards they would enjoy most (best “feeling”). Of course for my youngest I chose cute cards, whether silly or pretty but all associated to aesthetically pleasing. I took mid-tour leave in February, surprising our youngest for her 6th birthday, and found all of the cards I’d sent them! Each girl had her own growing collection that she treasured and could revisit whenever they missed me.” -M.A., U.S. Army, Iraq
Make sure to head on over to the Operation Write Home blog for some more inspiration! Also, we thought it would be fun to have some funny jokes that are perfect for kids with the answers on the other blog! 🙂 What do you get when you cross an elephant with a kangaroo?- Answer on the Operation Write Home blog! And the answer to their joke: Because of its bark!
