Lawn Fawn Video {7.4.23} Kara’s Mixed Media Card with Build-A-Drink

Save the Date! Our next Create with Us Live is on July 12th! We can’t wait to talk all things crafty while making cards with new Summer 2023 sets! Make plans to join Kelly Marie and Jenn, it will be so much fun! You will find all the details to craft along with us, HERE.

Happy Independence Day, friends! Kara has a fun mixed media technique to share with us today! Then she will create a fun card using Build-A-Drink and Build-A-Drink Cocktail Add-On. You can watch the video tutorial below or click HERE to watch at our YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for watching!

Kara created the “1960’s kitchen of your dreams” to highlight our Build-A-Drink and Build-A-Drink Cocktail Add-On sets! Her yummy strawberry margarita is a perfect theme for a hot summer day!

To create the “tile backsplash”, Kara used the Honeycomb Stencil to add a blue hexagon pattern to her card front. Then she stenciled again with Clear Stencil Paste over the top to give the tile a shiny finish!

The Pastel Pearlescent Vellum looks so cool as a “strawberry margarita” in the Build-A-Drink Cocktail Add-On glass!

Kara used a fun mixed media technique to create the marbled “countertop”! She filled a paper plate with dollar store shaving cream, then added drops of Distress Ink refill. Using a craft spatula, she created the marbled pattern. She lightly pressed a plain white cardstock panel into the shaving cream. Then she lifted it up and scraped off the shaving cream revealing the marbled pattern of the ink. This is such a fun technique!

The So Smooth blender, cocktail glass, strawberries and ice cube tray fill up the left side of the vintage-looking counter, while the Build-A-Drink Cocktail Add-On margarita sits on a “table” in foreground, filling the space to the right.

Kara also used the marbled paper to die cut Scripty Enjoy bringing the fun texture to the inside of the card, pairing it with a sentiment from On the Beach.

Thank you so much Kara for this amazing 60s inspired kitschy kitchen design! I love seeing that shaving cream technique again!

Jessica’s Rain or Shine Encouragement Card

TODAY is the big day! Join Kelly and Jenn at 5PM PT/8PM ET for another amazing Create with Us class! In this free online class, you’ll create two adorable cards featuring the Wheely Great Day and Fly High stamp sets. You can follow along — or just pop in to say hi! — on YouTube Live. You can find all the details HERE! We can’t wait to get the crafty chat started!

How sweet is Jessica’s encouragement card? The little mouse from Fly High is holding the On the Beach umbrella for his elephant friend! After she stenciled the clouds, Jessica added a Meadow Border and the sun from Spring Showers, both cut from What’s Sewing On paper! The fun stitching design gives the pieces a pretty pattern. Jessica added shading to the background and die cuts with Distress Oxide ink.

For the card greeting, Jessica combined Offset Sayings: Everyday with a sentiment from Beary Rainy Day!

Thank you for this sweet encouragement today, Jessica!

Lawn Fawn Video {8.7.22} Samantha’s Punny Summertime Card

Happy Sunday, friends! Samantha is enjoying all the fun of summer while it lasts with a “croc-ing” punny card! You can watch the video below or click HERE to watch at our YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for watching!

Samantha’s pool side scene features the “croco-gators” from Croc My World and Wild for You! She created the pool using Stitched Pond, giving it some movement with Stitched Ripple Backdrop!

Samantha included some summery images from Pool Party and On the Beach to set scene! She also created a textured pool deck with Brick Stencil and White Stencil Paste. To give the bricks some color, she mixed in some Manatee Ink.

But the star of this card is the “croc-ing” punny sentiment with Henry’s ABCs! These crocs are rocking the summer vibe!

Thank you so much for sharing this adorably fun inspiration with us, Samantha!
