PTI Blog Hop!! (my first one!)

This is my first Papertrey Ink blog hop! So fun! The challenge was to use tissue paper and Papertrey Ink products. I used Background Basics: Text Style for the background and Fresh Alphabet for the “…… YOU”.

For the tissue paper, I decided to make it look like that shabby, gauzy ribbon people have been using lately. I don’t have any, so I thought this was a great time to try and make it! I died the white tissue paper with worn lipstick distress ink and my foam applicator. Then I scrunched it all up and distressed it some more by added some more ink. I put down some sticky strip tape and scrunched the tissue paper along it. It held perfectly!
I had a blast creating the background with Text Style and distress inks. I covered chipboard with patterned paper and strung it along with twine. I will add the supplies later, so that I am not late! 🙂

Card stock: Neenah Paper Environment (desert storm)
Patterned paper: Sassafras (my type), Crate Paper (ripple) – Studio Calico’s Joyland kit

Have an amazing day,

monochromatic merci

Hello! I saw the Caardvarks monochromatic challenge today, and I decided to give it a go! That challenge is really making me want some Core’dinations card stock. I have never tried it!! Craziness! I must get my hands on some! Edited to add: I just realized I made ANOTHER one layer card! haha! 🙂
I also decided to bust out one of my new PTI goodies. I absolutely love this impression plate, but the sandwich for the Cuttlebug that they list EXPLODED my B plate. Watch out with that one! At least I managed not to injure myself this time! Haha!
Isn’t that impression just gorgeous? It’s subtle, but so pretty! It would be great to make these in a bunch of colors and give them as a box set. Oh, and that little merci stamp? That is a little gift I give out with each Lawn Fawn purchase. There are 5 different thank you stamps and we keep track of which one you were already sent. So, next time you should get a new one! 🙂 Yay!

Okay, I am going to go watch 500 Days of Summer with my hubby and tomorrow go check out Stamp Fever, a stamp shop in Orange, CA. I am so excited!

Card stock: American Crafts
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (merci)

Ink: Ranger Distress Ink (mustard seed)

Gems: A Muse

Have an amazing day,

Torendi Earth Day Planters

Welcome to the Torendi blog hop! Hopefully you came here from Jenn’s blog. If not, you can start the hop at the Torendi blog. Remember to comment on all of the blogs for a chance to win some goodies! Read about the details here.

So I decided to get all earthy and make planters out of the bottom of water bottles. I wanted to actually plant some flowers before this post, but as you can see in this picture, I had seeds, but no soil! I’ll just have to do a post Earth Day planting :).
Rub ons are perfect for making these little planters! I especially love the EAD ones. The red ones are from the Love Fool kit, and the orange is another EAD set. They are vinyl and just look so nice! Check them out at Torendi!
OPP Tape is so fun for these! I just applied it to the bottle. Then I knew I wanted to make flowers out of this fabric I received in a package. Yay for recycling! I made them by rolling and knotting strips of the fabric and stapling it together. Then I glue dotted them to the bottle.
Another OPP Tape one. This time I used sticky strip around the top to adhere that fun houndstooth American Crafts ribbon around the top.

I hope you have been having from hopping around for Earth Day. Next stop: the mega-fabulous Tiff! Click here to see what she has created! And don’t forget to comment on each blog to win some Earth Day goodies!

Tape: OPP (fuss, happy friends)
Ribbon: American Crafts (haute: elle)
Rub-Ons: EAD (love hurts)
Fabric: found in a gift
Plastic bottles: My cupboard. I drank a lot of water today to do this post! 🙂
