Sunny Thank You

Hello and happy Wednesday! I got out an older Studio Calico kit for this one. It was so fun! I stamped this doily border stamp up and down the card base in Versamark for a subtle background.

These awesome Cosmo Cricket letters worked so well with the wood veneer sun from Studio Calico. I actually used my Tattered Angels mist for once. I did it in the sink so I wouldn’t glitterfy my whole desk (surprise, glitterfy was not flagged by my spell check. Madness!) I really like the juxtaposition of wood grain and sparkle! Add some Dear Lizzy American Crafts paper, and this card just screams “Smile! Like right now. Even if you don’t want to. I am working so hard. Please smile!” Yes, this card has a bit of a complex about how bright it is. So just smile, and the card and I will stop talking. Hehehe!

Okay, enough with the wacky! Have an amazing day!

Have an amazing day,

It’s raining thank yous! (plus a video)

Hello! I hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday! Today I have a video on how to make this card with masking. I’ve had a lot of people ask me to do a masking video, and it was so much fun! I was inspired by two challenges: Get Sketchy and Off the Wall Craftiness which Lawn Fawn is sponsoring, so make sure to go over there and play along for a chance to win “Partly Cloudy“!

So here is my video! You can watch it here or over at YouTube.

Here are some of the masking details from the card. I just love that Studio Calico paper, and I can’t seem to stop myself from using the Papertrey text style stamp!

I really want a yellow umbrella in real life now. Don’t you? 🙂

Guess what: Lynnette has some awesome blog candy over at her blog (Lawn Fawn stamps and CARDS magazines!) Go check it out and leave her some love!

Also, I can’t believe it, but we are almost at the June release! DT sneak peeks start May 31st and the 3 stamp sets will be released on June 3rd at 12:01am EDT! Check out formspring for a silly little sneak peek that I posted about one of the sets!

2 sketches 4 you 53: Thanks

Hello! Welcome to a really fun week at 2 Sketches 4 You! This week we are sponsored by W plus 9 and Position-It, a new tool from the folks at Scor-It-All! Keep scrolling because I have a photo tutorial on the Position-It below!
How fab is this sketch?! Thanks, Kazan! 🙂
Here are some details from my card. This was my first time using Core’dinations card stock and it rocks my socks! So cool!

Let’s check out the Position-It! I used it here to show how you can fix a stamping error. It is a wonderful tool. Next week I will do a video so you can see it in action too!

I used a stamp from Woodgrain Silhouette Additions from W plus 9. I thought it went really well with this American Crafts Botanique paper. The ledger stickers from October Afternoon remind me of someone studying botanicals in a lab.

Card stock: Neenah Paper Environment (desert storm), Coredinations (katydid crisscross)
Patterned paper: American Crafts (botanique: wanda), Lily Bee (whimsy)

Stickers: October Afternoon (thrift shop mini market stickers)
Ribbon: Webster’s Pages (lullaby lane alphabet fabric ribbon)
Brad: Pink Paislee (queen bee bella brads)
Tools: Position-It
