Remember to shine

Two crafting days in a row!! Wowza!!! I made a layout with Lunar Lights and got distress inky and therefore got happy! Hehe!

I used two Studio Calico kits (Who’s Who & Metropolitan) for my layout and some stuff from my stash. I absolutely adore Studio Calico kits! Such a good mix of stuff, and really great people running the company! Check them out! 🙂

Here is my entire layout. This was the first time I made one about myself. It was nerve wracking! Oh my! I used these really cool House of Three paper that already has embossed areas on it and added Distress Inks. I love the look and there was something so therapeutic about it!

I absolutely love paper piecing the lanterns from Lunar Lights. They are the perfect size for custom embellishments on a layout! After I cut them out I used a paper piercer to pierce a whole through the lantern “loop” and then through the base paper of the layout. I threaded some baker’s twine through to make them look like they are hanging. I just love this look!

Here is my journaling:
“Sometimes I get dragged down by the every day. I let little silly things affect me when I shouldn’t. I need to remember to always let my best self show through. I need to remember to be awesome. I need to remember to shine. 2/24/2011”
I always need the reminder to shine and not get dragged down by the little things. This is a reminder I especially needed today!
