You’re the one for me

Hello! Today I have a layout I made for Nichol Magouirk‘s July Scrapbook Stamping class over at Two Peas in a Bucket! This month’s class is all about creating your own stamped backgrounds!

I had so much fun making this layout with a fun photobooth picture from a wedding! (I love these photos as favors! Too fun!) The hearts on top were done with Teeny Tiny Backdrops and Versamark ink. I love the tone on tone look for backgrounds that are not the main focus. I also used the same technique on the bottom of the layout, but this time I used the single camera stamp from Say Cheese, Too and repeated it for a fun pattern. I drew a pencil line to help me keep my first line of cameras straight. I erased it and was able to fill in the rest of my pattern with no problem!

The light blue paper was stamped with the ledger from Schoolhouse Backdrops in Versamark. I Distress Inked the edges for it to match the other papers. It was fun to make a custom patterned paper to match with a stamp!

The leafy pattern was created by repeating the long stamp from Blissful Botanicals. The trick I used to make it look like patterned paper was to make sure the pattern goes off the edges, then it looks like a  trimmed patterned paper piece! It was so fun to use this stamp because I was able to custom color it with Copics to match that gorgeous plaid Girls Paperie paper. I used a light grey Copic marker over the colors it for it to be more muted like the paper. I also Distress Inked the paper for it to match.
Lastly, I used Schoolhouse Backdrops for the lines in my journaling frame from Fanciful Frames, and I used a sentiment from Clear to See to finish up my journaling which was fun!

Make sure to go check out Nichol’s July Scrapbook Stamping class and play along!

  1. WOW WOW WOW! That was so cute and everywhere you look there was something I missed! Thanks for sharing that with us! I would have never thought that you used only one piece of actual "patterned" paper and the rest you made! You are amazing!

  2. This is a really amazing layout using all your beloved stamp sets..Actually, they're my beloved too. Hehehe. This is really great. i have to learn to make layouts. I hope your grandfather is recovering well.

  3. I love making my own pattern paper with stamps. It makes the project/craft more unique & special. Love what you did to your layout! I'm a sucker for those tiny shaped hearts `=]

  4. You know, Kelly Marie, I had to literally look at this 3 times to take in all of the cool stamping fun!!! WOW! I love how you Versamarked the backgrounds – and the fact that you also made TWO of your own patterned papers!!! This is too cool! How do you think up these things!?!?!?! One of the things that I LOVE about Lawn Fawn is the fact that you obviously think up cool stamp ideas based on things you like to use & see! Fabulous layout!!! Also, I’ve forgotten to tell you, I love how you said (in your Moxie Fab interview) you keep up with trends but use them to suit your style… well I don’t think you said it like that (maybe you did) but I really love that about you & I aspire to be the same! You don’t follow trends, you make them your own! I love that! Thanks, again, for being so inspiring!

  5. Oh Kelly! Love these photos and the LO is great! Love how you used the stamps for a pp look! Thanks for the inspiration. I have several LF sets now not only because the stamps are so cute, but partly because of your inspiration and the great videos you do. Keep up the good work!

  6. Love this layout and all your custom backgrounds. Looks like some Studio Calico KOM – I just love getting papers & extras that "go" together. Also love how your wrote in the Fanciful Frame!!

  7. Wow! What an amazing layout! All the details you put in… all the different stamps you used… your color story… the cute photos… just fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! It's a layout to be proud of for sure!
