CrittersInCostume
Chari‘s comic book inspired card is amazing! I just love her gorgeous distress ink skies! The white space the dies leave around the images pops perfectly off of those skies!

Guess what?! Nichol is back on the design team, and she is wowing us with this incredible haunted house! Such a treasure! She also shows how great the Critters in Costume work with other Lawn Fawn Fall and Halloween sets! We will show you more of her house on a separate post after Inspiration Week!

CrittersInCostume2_yainea
Yainea‘s card is too cute! I love how she combined the Critters in Costume cat with the Critters in the ‘Burbs cat and Hats Off to You witch’s hat! The sentiment is from Happy Haunting, and the papers are a mix of the new Into the Woods and Peace Joy Love papers! So clever!

Elena shows that this set is great for year round cards, too! I love the tree she made with the new Woodgrain Backdrops. She cut the holes in the tree with our Circle Stackables, and Home Sweet Home and Blissful Botanicals help set the scene! So sweet!

Lynnette‘s scene is adorable! I love the background she created with the smaller elements in the set, and I love how the squirrel is holding the trick or treat bag. Too cute! The Retro Lawn Trimmings is the perfect finishing touch!

Latisha‘s treat bag is so sweet! She cleverly used our new Stitched Journaling Card die as a tag, and the new Stitched Leaves set the perfect scene for the pumpkin bunny from Critters in Costume! This treat is sure to make anyone’s day!

Make sure you click on each of the design team’s names or pictures to go to their blogs and see the details of how they made their cards. You will walk away inspired for sure!

  1. oh… my goodness! Love these adorable critters! Amazing projects too… I'll be sure to check them out for all the particulars!
My favorite Halloween costume…. when my daughter was little I made her a darling Tinkerbell outfit and I was Peter Pan! That was so fun! She was in preschool at the time, and is 30 now!

  2. Wow! The house! The 3d hole in the tree! The amazing colors of the comic-style! Everything's fabulous! As for costume, probably the year I went as "Jen's Apartment." It was the year "Joe's Apartment" was in theaters and I had a grad school apartment that was regularly visited by all sorts of small crawly things (that's what happens when tree roots are under the apartment, there's a crack along the bottom of the wall/floor joint in the kitchen where the root is, and you're in TX.) I simply taped plastic bugs onto my clothes and wore a sign that said, "Jen's Apartment". It was a hit.

  3. Those cards are adorable, of course. Man, some serious creativity there! 🙂 My favorite costume was probably when I dressed up as a grandma. Second runner up was dressing up as a chocolate chip ice cream cone! 🙂

  4. what fabulous cards and projects done! This set is so flippin' cute!!! love love love!!! My fave costume was a Princess Leia costume my mom made when i was in elementary school.

  5. I am simply wow'd by the DT samples! Each one offers something different. This is the cutest stamp set, too…the Critters are adorable, I just love them! I was always a princess of some sort for Halloween. When I became an adult, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and I chose to be a harem girl…it was a pretty racy costume, but I loved it!

  6. Those are so creative! Great cards and projects:) my favorite costume was when my son was two and he was a dinosaur. He was so stinking cute! And he loved playing the part.

  7. I love love love this stamp set. My favorite Halloween costume has to be the bumble bee. The Lawn Fawn Design Team did such an amazing job on the samples. I am so inspired!

  8. I just adore this stamp set!! And the DT made such great projects!! I think my favorite Halloween costume was dressing up like a Dalmatian when I was little 🙂

  9. Gorgeous stamp set, the DT projects are fab! I've nearly always dressed as a witch from altering a black bag when I was little, to adapting my own clothes now to suit my hat 🙂

  10. Love the DT projects! Everything is super adorable! My fave Halloween costume is my shirt that says, "this is my Halloween costume" makes my kid patients giggle!

  11. these little costumed critters are perfect to get me in the mood for halloween! they are too adorable! As for my favorite costume… I was strawberry shortcake a few years back, I had a lot of fun with that and as a kid I was spiderman once… but only because my older brother already called being batman 😛

  12. OMG!! the design team has stunned me with their creations!! wow!!!
my favorite halloween costume when i was little was a witch costume i created by using one of my mom's shirts. i think the best part was going into her closet every year to get the same shirt and knowing it was hers!! 🙂

  13. wow–great projects! I don't recall having a fave Halloween costume growing up, but I did make the majority of my kids costumes…the fave? would be a toss-up of either the Heinz ketchup, or the Salt & Pepper duo (my boys are twins, and they wanted to do this!) it was a blast putting it together!

  14. Oh wow, I have NOT been interested in this set at all, even after watching the video last night. But TODAY is a while different story! Designers, you have ALL made me want this set now!! All your projects are fantastic and wonderful! My favorite Halloween was last year at Fright Fest at Great America in Gurnee, IL. That was SOOOO FUN!

  15. What a cute stamp set and the DT's creations are outstanding! Awesome+++ My favourite costumes are those my niece and nephew wore last year: she was a bat, and my nephew a billy goat. Tooooo darn cute!!

  16. Growing up I dressed up as a witch for years. I love to see the creative costumes that come by the house now. One of my Faves was the little girl who was an aquarium! She had all sorts of fish "swimming" and it lit up, too cute!!!

  17. Wow! The creations made with this set are so gorgeous and super smart! I just love all of them! 🙂 Here in Belgium we don't really dress up for Halloween but we do dress up for another occasion :). My favorite costume was a fairy!

  18. A-ma-zing projects today! My fave Halloween costume was made by my sweet Mom, and it was a Laura Ingalls Wilder costume. I wore that costume LONG after Halloween was over, pretending to be in that Little House on the Prairie! 🙂

  19. Oh my GOSH – that house is MAGNIFICENT! And all of those cards are beautiful, sigh, I love your products… I love your videos.. I Love Lawn Fawn! My favorite costume growing up as a puppy, and it was one of those cheap plastic body ones with the paper face mask too, but I love puppies, so I didn't care, LOL! Thanks for the chance to win!

  20. Cute set! My favorite costume would have to be when I dressed up as Pippi Longstocking! My mom worked so hard to get my braids to stick straight out just like hers! 🙂

  21. Oh my gosh, I love this set!! I never really did any costumes for myself but I did sew up a costume a few years ago for my husband. He loves the Assassin's Creed video games, so I made him an Ezio costume. It was a lot of work, but it was absolutely perfect 🙂
    <3 Emily L.

  22. My fave costume was the year I dressed as Dracula. It was so much fun to play with the fake blood and vampire makeup. I tend to be more traditional in my halloween costume ideas.

  23. Awesome inspiration! Love how the set is so versatile – even beyond Halloween! My favorite costume was when I was a fairy princess – covered in glitter!

  24. Back in the 60s, I had this glow-in-the-dark skeleton costume with plastic skeleton mask that I loved!! I wore it trick-or-treating for a couple of years and other times around the house besides Halloween! Sheesh..my parents were indulgent with me! Ha.
    <3 J

  25. I love this! The Critters are adorable!

My favorite costume was last year. I was a Rockford Peach from League of their Own and my fiance was Jimmy Dugan. I think we are going to wear it again this year (we just moved very far away, so no one here has ever seen it!)

  26. You ladies all did a fantastic job on today's projects. My favorite Halloween costume was one of my daughter's. When she was 2, she was the Halloween fairy & cute as a button!

  27. OMG! So darn cute! My favorite costume was when my hubby and I dressed up as Fred and Wilma Flintstone.

  28. I love all of your critter sets so much (this one is no exception)!! The bear in the bee costume is so cute! I would say my favorite costume would have been my kitty costume…I'm pretty sure I used that one on a couple different Halloween's because I loved being a cat 🙂

  29. Halloween is my favorite holiday and that haunted house…I will have to try and make one myself….wow!!!
My favorite costume when I was little – when my mom made me a Princess Leia costume and the double bun hair….that was AWESOME!

  30. how cute those stamps are! My fav. costume was me being a Tinkerbell in my sophomore year in college! I spent LOTS of money (back then!) to become Tinkerbell ! cuz I couldn't find the already made costume in the store. in 1980s', as a Poor College Student, I spent over $120.00 for becoming one! haha … sad thing is that I never used any of it ever since! So, $120.00 for ONE NIGHT at COLLEGE party. hahaha 🙂

  31. The ghost house is amazing. All of the projects are great.
My mother made all of my costumes. that's been so many years ago I don't remember any of them. I think one year I was a gypsy. I know they were always wonderful. She was a good seamstress.

  32. One of the last years it was OK for me to go trick-or-treating, my mum and I dreamed up a costume of a clear garbage bag filled with mini balloons! I was a bag of gumballs! I still look back fondly on that DIY costume!

  33. My favorite costume was when my daughter was snow white and I was the wicked step mother! Super great projects. I just adore Halloween! I cant wait.

  34. My favorite Halloween costume was when my son was 4 months old, we dressed him up as a pumpkin. Amazing projects!! TFS

  35. LOVE LOVE LOVE the new critters! My favorite Halloween costume was my daughters last year. I made her a Carebear costume and she still loves to wear it!

  36. OMG, not only does Lawn Fawn have the best products, but the best design team as well! Each one of these projects is adorable and makes me want to get my hands on the new products and start creating. Thanks so much for the chance to win as well.

  37. YET another set of cute and adorable LF critters. I am in love with these cuties. We didn't have Halloween while growing up but I love the witch dress my daughters wears…lol

For us girls our own Poodle Skirts each our FAVORITE Colors, with contrasting trim and Pom Pom fring then the sweetest little poodle appliqués that were all hand made by my mom!! My dad and brother got decked out too and we were the coolest family on the streets that Year!! We were able to use them ago during our city Parade on our Family Float!! THANKS for sharing and have a Fabulous Weekend!! 😉

  39. I had a spider lady costume, I really can't remember what it looked like but the Coca Cola bottling plant had a Halloween party every year and they had best costume contest. I won one year for my age group. Now I am going to have to find a picture, that is going to involve some digging around.

  40. I think my favorite Halloween costume was when I was about seven or eight—I was ET!!! A family friend made the costume for me, and I just loved it!!! Thanks for the incredible inspiration and the chance to win!

  41. I just love these critters and wish I could get my hands on some. Not easy to come by in New Zealand…. We don't celebrate Halloween too much here but one year my daughter dressed up as a witch (with my help for her gross make up) and my 6yr old son dressed as Angus Young from AC/DC (school boy costume). He really loved how he looked but wouldn't leave the house!!! Looking forward to tomorrows blog post!

  42. Hi Kelly Marie!
Oh my goodness! These little critters in costumes are so ADORABLE! BEAUTIFUL projects too…thanks for sharing :)! Have a wonderful day!

  43. I love this set! All of the DT girls are fantastic! My favorite costume was the first costume I sewed for my daughter for her first Halloween. I made her into a ladybug.

  44. I always look forward to your stamp releases! Favorite costume….the lady in Nashville who dressed up as a witch to hand out candy and scared the begeeves out of my brothers and me! circa mid 60's.

  45. You know, the first thing I thought of when I saw the owl was that he was a superhero! then I scrolled down and saw the cute "hero" card that was created with him! 🙂 wonderful!

  46. Oh, I forgot to mention the costume! sadly, I never really had much of a halloween costume as a kid, but I loved the cute pumpkin costume my sis-in-law made for my daughter when she was a tyke!

  47. I lived in Chicago for about 2 years when I was little. I always remembered my first Halloween costume. My mum dressed me up as Snow White! I wonder if my mum and dad had a picture of me in it?
Love this stamp set! All those critters are just so cute, particular the bear in the bee costume!! ^_^

  48. I once dressed up as a pumpkin. Homemade costume stuffed with newspapers. I wore brown tights and my Brownie beanie. I had to walk quite a ways to the party. While at the party, my girlfriend thought it would be neat to take my newspapers and burn them in their incinerator. Needless to say I got in trouble. She took the fifth. Walked home humiliated and deflated. Literally!!

  49. Great stuff. Love that purple happy haunting card. I didn't really celebrate Halloween growing up but I did dress up for Purim (Israeli festival.) I think my favorite one was what a remember to be a Charlie Chaplin-like outfit.

  50. This set is too cute! love love it! I can't wait to add this to my collection and start playing. I remember you mentioning how not all of your drawings made the cut for turning into a set… just thinking it would be so cool if we could take a peek at these maybe even vote for our favourites to one day appear as a stamp… just thinking out loud here 🙂 ok so favourite costume I wore would be the pumpkin costume my mom made for me when I was a kid (maybe 10ish) complete with stem lid, favourite costume I made was the mummy costume I created for my brother out of old sheets ripped in strips and some truly horrific face painting… people were really scared of him at the pub.

  51. I love the new stamp set! The cards are so cute! I think my favorite costume was a witch because I think I dressed up as one every year growing up! Haha!

  52. This new set is so darling and the design team have created some incredible samples! Way to go, girls! So fun seeing Nichol back! A few years ago I dressed up as the Travelocity Roaming Gnome (from the commercials) — I even made myself a beard out of felt and everything. It was pretty cool. I got a ton of compliments.

  53. I recently discovered Lawn Fawn and have to say that these are some of the cutest stamps ever! Such an amazing design team. I love your stamps and can't wait to make some holiday projects with them.

  54. My favorite halloween costume was a indian maden costume my sister made for me out of corduroy, embellished with embroidered ribbon and a headband that had yarn braids,I loved it. My mother said it was too cold to wear it to trick or treat in without snow pants. My sister's took out a encyclopedia to show me pictures of indians in snow pants, I was too young to know they were really pictures of eskimos, needless to say i wasn't buying it. Lol.

  55. My favorite Halloween costume was one my mom made me when I was in high school. I believe I was a freshman, and my mom made me a satin maiden-type medieval dress with super long beautiful sleeves – it was so great!

  56. This stamp set is amazing and all the projects as well!!
I never had a Halloween costume as this isn't such a big event here in Switzerland…but there's a carnival sort of festival in February and my favorite costume was a pink, fluffy princess fairy outfit with a crown and a magic wand 🙂

  57. MY Goodness… I accidentally hit send before finishing. As I was saying… That Hunted House is superb! It is no longer spooky though with those stinkin' cute critters. And I really like the first card. Very striking. And my favorite all time Halloween costume was Huckleberry Hound complete with my Huckleberry Hound cardboard head covering mask I got from Kellogg's as a kid. A turquoise sweatsuit and a tail and you're all set to go!

  58. my favorite costume was a witch. My mother made me an amazing crushed maroon velvet cape that was lined in pink satin. It had a hood also. I put a hunch back on, along with a white face and black teeth. I looked so scary I scared myself. Those were the days. Sigh.

  59. My favorite Halloween costume was the year my mom let me dress up as a screaming banshee. How often does a 9-year-old get permission to run around screaming her head off? lol Thanks Mom!

  60. OMG…this set is so darn cute! I LOVE that haunted house too!!!! As for me, my favorite costume as a child was when my mom made me a Mrs. Potato head costume. It was a crack up! She sewed what was basically a brown bag with ears attached and I wore big fake lips!! LOL!

  61. GAW!! This critter set is so darn cute i MUST have it!! My favorite costume from childhood was when my Mom used wire coat hangers and tissue paper to make butterfly wings! I never wanted to take it off!

  62. WOW such awesome projects and I just love Nichol's haunted house!!! Awesome!!! Loved the video too! My favorite Halloween costume was my sexy red devil costume that I wore when I was about 18 years old.

    Hugs,
    Jo

  63. Brilliant cards yet again, I always feel inspired after reading a Lawn Fawn blog post. I LOVE the owl in the super hero costume, really brought a smile to face x

  64. Such cute ideas!! Love all the Halloween inspiration. My favorite costume was the year my mom made me a wedding dress complete with a veil so I could be a bride 🙂 I think I was only about 7 years old haha

  65. I love Lawn Fawn critters and I love making Halloween projects. This set is definitely going on my wish list! I don't have a favorite Halloween costume. My favorite thing about Halloween was (and still is!) – CHOCOLATE! 🙂

  66. My mom made me this fabulous kangaroo costume with a joey in the pouch that could be snapped in our taken out. It was incredible! I couldn't believe mom actually found a way to make a kangaroo and made it look so cool. I need to go call her and thank her right now!

  67. My favorite halloween costume was the year I thought I'd go as a Vegas table-game dealer. I was just about in the last year of trick or treating so I thought it made great sense. Though maybe that's just my favorite because it's the only costume I can independently REMEMBER. LOL!

  68. Love all of the projects! What a talented bunch! My favorite costume for Halloween was a Dorothy costume from the Wizard of Oz that my Grandmother made by hand! Thanks for a chance to win these adorable stamps!

  69. Wow wow wow!!!!!! Some amazing projects – unbelievable creativity!!! I don't remember many of my costumes from Halloweens past. But I do remember loving my Wonder Woman costume – I thought she was so cool!!! Especially the belt and the bracelets!!!

  70. My favorite costume was a storebought Babs Bunny costume. I was a 90s kid, and Tiny Toons was one of my favorite cartoons, so I couldn't resist wearing the costume to school for Halloween. The mask may have been made from cheap plastic, but man, was I proud to be Babs that day.

  71. Yikes these are the cutest little stamps! My favorite costume was from about 4 years ago when I dressed as an Egyptian queen! My sister-in-law brought back a beaded headress from Egypt that was so beautiful

  72. When I grew up in the uk Halloween wasn't such a thing, but there is one memorable photo of me whene I was about 6 I had a witch had and had raided my mums stuff to do my own make up, it was everywhere!

  73. My fav costume was when I was a care bear for like 4 years! :). My mom made it and it was super warm and living in South Dakota I didn't have to wear a coat over it! Loved it! I was cheer bear 🙂

  74. Love these little critters and the stamps set is awesome!! Great job by the DT especially Nichol's house….she rocked the house with this project!! I am feeling a little sad though b/c I cant remember a single costume I wore as a child for Halloween – granted that was a LONG time ago (60's and 70s). Heck, I cant remember what I had for dinner last week…..LOL.

  75. One year my Mother made me a costume as a green dog…neon green 🙂 I am thinking that the fabric must have been on sale. Lisa NH

  76. amazing projects-especially love Chari's backgrounds on the first card-outstanding!!! I actually didn't dress up for Halloween as a kid, but I loved the year my son was a dinosaur and my daughter was Minnie Mouse-they looked so adorable!!!

  77. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays……that being said, my favorite halloween costume is one that I made for my son…..a slice of bacon!!! It turned out fantastic!

LOVE the inspiration on this post!!!!

  78. So cute!!! Love it all!! I once won a Halloween costume in the prettiest category as a "flapper" in middle school but I was going for punk bride. I wore my mom's actual wedding dress from the 60's that was shorter skirt (not mini or anything). That was pretty cool…punked up hair, etc. The judges apparently didn't know what to make of me but liked it anyway.

  79. This set is cute and the team did a great job with all of the projects. I haven't dressed up in years but a favorite costume of my kids was when I dressed my baby as Blues Clues.

  80. We don't celebrate Halloween in our country, but we have a carnival when the winter is ending, so we try to scare it away.

My favorite costume was the snail, which I designed from some cheap brown blankets and stuffed it with pillows. I also wore cap with eyes (of a snail) on thin wire. It was hilarious, but we had more fun creating it than scaring the winter away in it! 🙂

  81. I L.O.V.E. this set! Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday, my birthday is in October, and I love critters and cute things! My favorite Halloween costume was when I harnessed up my brother's Golden Retriever, put on some Sun glasses and went as a blind person with a guide dog! I got to spend the whole party with my doggie and it was fun! What was your favorite?

  82. My favorite Halloween costume was when I dressed up like Jasmine… I felt like a princess 🙂

That haunted house is Awesome! OMGoodness… you all never cease to wow me 🙂 love it!

  83. Wonderful inspiration! The stamps are wonderful and will be on my Halloween card this year! My favorite costume was when I was in college and went as a B-52. I wore a garbage bag as a dress, and teased my hair into a mile high beehive! LOL!

  84. I don't remember many of my own Halloween costumes, but I remember the Winnie the Pooh costume my mother made for my sister. I was done in blanket material and she wore it for months as pajamas.

  85. love this so much. I think my favorite costume would be a zombie. My mom loves to sew and she made me this body suit that had white pieces of gauze plastered to it. I also had the fake wounds and bandages 🙂 thanks for the chance to win 🙂

  86. I can only imagine the cuteness I could make with these. My favorite costume (Idea) is an Elvis. I have begged my boys for years to be Elvis and they won't!

  87. I just spent hours looking at all of those wonderful cards – especially the haunted house! So much talent! Especially the first card with the distress ink sky – love it!

  88. [oops, pressed publish too fast!] And my favourite costume was actually for a performance I was in back in high school – it was a Halloween musical and I made a headband that had an axe stuck into it – very scary!

  89. Oh, dear…ummm…I guess it was a court jester. I'm the youngest kid in my family, so I always got the hand-me-downs and I was a clown for 3 years, so when I got to get a brand new court jester costume (I know, not very different), I was thrilled.

  90. i tihnk my fav was actually my hubbys costume i made for him in 2011 i made him a dr evil one and we painted his face white did the scare and everything then he dragged our poor cat around under his arm the whole night it was so funny!!!!

  91. Wow, this set is so cute! My daughter wants it for making cards for her friends. My favorite costume as a kid was a gypsy. We put it together with bits from my closet, Mom's closet, my aunt's jewelry box. It was so flashy and fun, but the most comfortable costume because it was real clothes.

  92. Love this set and matching die! My favorite costume was my punk rocker one from 3rd grade. I got to wear weirdly mismatched clothes, put a spray color in my hair and wear bright and garish makeup! Thanks for the chance to win.

  93. My favorite Halloween costume was the one that my niece wore last year. She was a baby lobster. Her dad was a chef. He walked around with her in a big pot. It was the hit of the neighborhood. My SIL heard about it while riding the commuter train the next day.

  94. I have no idea what my favorite costume was! That was way too many years ago. I am certain my mom never bought one and I know she didn't sew a special costume. We used what we had. I do remember every year my whole grade school would go across the street to the nursing home and have a parade for those living there. There were three class rooms of each grade, 1st through 6th. That was a lot of kids!

  95. As the leisure side of Milton Keynes grew with the opening of one of the largest indoor shopping centres in the UK, so did the need for short-term accommodation. Hotels in Milton Keynes first began to appear in the central areas with a few bed and breakfast choices found in the outlying villages. Today, the shopping centre is just one part of the attraction of visiting the city. Many come to stay in the Milton Keynes hotels to enjoy the indoor ski slope, the artificial skydiving experience or have a night on the town.
