Elise‘s trio of Narwhal and Friends tags are adorable! Wouldn’t they look great on gift packages throughout the year?

Chari added a layer of Glossy Accents on her colorful String of Lights! The greeting from our Let’s Bokeh set coordinates perfectly with the shiny details!

I love how Melissa S. cut the String of Lights from Perfectly Plaid Christmas paper! She used a sentiment from Winter Big Scripty Words as a title for this festive holiday layout!

Latisha stitched up an adorable felt ornament using Narwhal and Friends! I love the whimsical colors she chose!

Lynnette‘s card is full of joy! I love that she added cute smiley faces to the String of Lights using Make Me Smile!

Chari decorated a plain gift sack with an adorable felt Narwhal and Friends seal! I love the hand-stitched details on the hat and nose. Chari finished this cute gift with a Tag You’re It tag stamped with Birthday Tags and a Snow Cool greeting!

I love the awesome watercolor “glow” Audrey created for the String of Lights! She finished the colorful panel with Stitched Scalloped Borders in Storm Cloud cardstock. The greeting is from our Winter Gifts set.

I love that Lizzy gave a wink to her home state with this totally adorable Narwhal and Friends design! She used felt to make the cute whale and to cut Finley’s ABCs for the greeting. She cleverly created floral accents using die shapes in this set!

Elena shows two ways to use her beautiful shiny String of Lights! They look beautiful as a banner strung on Black Tie Lawn Trimmings cord. And I love the gift tags she created by die cutting photos of her kids with the light bulb shape; such an awesome idea!

Lynnette created a jolly little seal with the Narwhal and Friends set! I love how she coordinated his winter cap with the Perfectly Plaid Winter backdrop.

Now I have a little video showing Narwhal and Friends in action and some fun things you can do with this set. I hope you like it! You can watch it below or at our YouTube channel.

  1. Oh dear! These projects are just too nice! I have strings of light in one of my windows all year round. I didn't bother taking them down one Christmas. And I always cover the Christmas tree with lights of course. Thanks to all the DTs too. The light bulbs with pictures are such an awesome idea. Imagine taking pictures of friends and giving them tags with their face on! Talking about custom made….

  2. Yes, we always hand a string of lights in the front porch. I love this set, especially Narwhal. Love that the DT used felt for some of the projects!
    Hugs

  3. My wish list keeps getting longer….these die sets are so cute! The more Christmas lights the better. We hang them around our front door, on the mantle above the fireplace, and our tree is always loaded! Just thinking about it makes me smile 🙂

  4. I love those string of lights! I did a holiday card using something similar and my children's photos. I normally only hang a string of lights on our tree, not the house. My hubby has not hung lights around our house (outside) for the last few years because he just never gets around to it. 🙁 I love those icicle lights that drip, though.

  5. The narwhal and friends are just adorable and the string of lights is great fun. We string lights along our veranda and through the Camellia bushes either side of our front stairs and in our Chrissie Tree inside.

  6. I hang strings of lights all around the house. This set is just made for me and this year I also hang those paper lights. Thank you for this set and a big compliments to your DT ladies.

  7. Yes I hang strings of lights on Christmas trees.
I think this is my favorite post of this inspiration week. The projects are so different between them that the post is full of inspiration!!!

  8. WOW!!!! What a day of inspiration and cuteness!!!! I love all the tags and cards!!! I really love how you have 3 different sizes of lights and I know I'm going to have to buy the Narwhal and Friends Lawn Cuts dies because my grandchildren are just going to love making those ones!!!
We hang Christmas lights every year!

  9. What absolutely adorable sets. I loved Lynnette's samples as well but was unable to leave a comment on her blog for some reason.
I DO string lights. I surround every window visible to the road, as I know how much I enjoy going for drives to see the lights. My husband and I make a point every year to take our aging relatives (those who don't drive anymore) out to "see the lights". It is a great way to 'brighten' their holidays and they always look forward to it!

  10. We do hang strings of lights – at Christmas and throughout the year too – pretty white ones for summer parties , and orange for Halloween! 🙂

  11. We hang strings of white lights on the trees out front and coloured lights on the Christmas tree. I love coming home after dark and seeing all the decorations lit up in the neighbourhood.

  12. Yes Lights!! Lights on the tree, lights in the garland, sometimes lights around the ceiling area of a room. Love to go see house lights displays as,we do not use lights outside

  13. I love the narwhal and friends set! We do hang strings of lights but it's usually a battle to get them up! My hubby hates doing it…. but I love coming home to a festive lit house!

  14. We put lights on the tree and on our mantel, but not outside. We have a big picture window in the front of our house and put the Christmas tree right in the middle of it. It's beautiful inside and outside from the street. Christmas lights on the outside of the house would actually detract from the beautiful tree, so we don't put them outside.

  15. So adorable those die sets!! Love that you can make more than one critter out of the Norwal set. And perfect that the string of lights have more than one size! Love hanging lights for Christmas! But I liked the old ones better as these days you can only get the led and the "shine" is too stark for me. I prefer the warmer glow 🙂 … but we don't have old ones, so led it is.

  16. Very cute and inspiring projects. Love the string of lights die. Yes we hang strings of lights outside. I use to string lights on the fireplace mantel with my nutcracker collection but we have moved to a new house and no mantel to hang them on this year.

  17. I love all these amazing ideas!! Narwhal is so adorable. 🙂 we hang lots of string lights in our house at the holidays!!! We have all shapes and sizes including doctor who lights as well!!

  18. We've always lived in apartments so stringing lights outside wasn't very practical. But this year we finally live in our own house so I see all kinds of decorating going on this holiday season!

  19. The narwhal and friends are absolutely adorable!! Such super sweet creations!!
Yes, we hang strings of lights on our Christmas tree and outside of our home too!! Very Festive & Fun!!

  20. the little seals are darling. And they can
be used anytime of the year.
Love the strings of lights. There are
so many ways they can be used – and again
they don't have to be kept just for Christmas.
    Fantastic release today.
    thanks for sharing.

  21. WOW – things are getting better by the day!!!
The narwhal & friends are SO CUTE and the lights are MAGICAL!!!
We have lights on our Christmas tree but not around the house any more … ladders are a bit challenging, the weather is too, so we gave all our outdoor lighting collection to the family next door, their kids adore them 🙂

  22. These are all so super cute! We have always loved putting up lights for Christmas. I'm so blessed to have a husband who (though isn't as into Christmas as I am) knows how much I love the season and works tirelessly to get the outside decorated. So sweet and a great example of selflessness.

  23. I absolutely love this light die! Such beautiful cards using it in this post. Can't wait to get my hands on that one. Of course I hang lights for the holidays. Granted it isn't as much as I used to in my younger days, but I love how bright and beautiful the lights cheer up a room.

  24. Oh I love how versatile that Narwal and friends die set is! SO CUTE! I love making seals because my Mom's name is 'Ceil' which is pronounced 'seal'. I hang these FUN Crayola lights on my little 4' tree – I LOVE them – 10 different colors, including a true bright yellow and a bright red – a lot of light strings have pink & orange but no red & yellow, a travesty! LOL! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  25. So many adorable projects! I love those little critters! We hang lights on our tree, and I used to hang icicle lights on our roof line, but I haven't done that since I sold my house. Renting has me focusing on interior decor more. 🙂 TFS all this inspiration with us! Big hugs, Kristina

  26. The Christmas lights die set is definitely my favorite! So versitile and festive. I can't wait to get started with my Christmas cards. We hang Christmas lights every year one day after Thanksgiving and take them down one day after New Year's Eve.

  27. So many adorable projects! I love those little critters! We hang lights on our tree, and I used to hang icicle lights on our roof line, but I haven't done that since I sold my house. Renting has me focusing on interior decor more. 🙂 TFS all this inspiration with us! Big hugs, Kristina

  28. We always hang lights, I love lights! We have white posts by our steps and we turn them into candy canes. We also put lights around the door and hang a lighted wreath above the steps. Love both of these sets and can't wait to try them.

  29. The Narwhal and the String of Lights are just so perfect for the holiday cards! They are so cute. We used to string lights outside the house, but the older I get, the less I like climbing the ladder, so now we just have them on the Christmas tree.

  30. I love your projects! <3 And ofc we are hanging strings of light for the holidays 🙂 A few in the garden, also in the living room (and in the christmas tree)!

  31. I love decorating for the holidays! I don't usually hang any lights except what's on our tree but some years I make an exception and put some lights up outside! (Depends on motivated I am!) Love the Narwhal and the string of lights!

  32. The narwhal die set is to die for! Love it! And the string of lights are super cute! I hang lights when we will be in town for the holidays. Otherwise, we just don't have time during the busy season, and we won't be around to see them 🙁 I still put up wreaths and banners and such… just not the electrics.

  33. Both of these sets are so adorable! Love the light set so much! We used to string lots of lights on the outside of our house when the kids lived with us. They would love to decorate the house. Now that they are gown and married we don;t hang as many outside lights. But we do hang lights to decorate the inside. I especially love colored lights. Great projects, DT!

  34. The Narwhal is too cute! Yes we do hang loads of lights but usually only around the house not outside. But the streets are decorated anyway every Christmas season!

  35. Another set of cute creations!
A few years ago, I gave my niece a stuffed narwhal (found it on etsy) for her bday, and it was a hit!
Besides stringing lights on our xmas tree, we do have a few sets we use to decorate our stair banisters and fireplace. Just t makes nighttime more festive and magical for the holidays! <3

  36. Yes, we string lights on our porch railing, on our giant wreath on the garage, and on our lamppost (along with small wreaths adorned with simple red bows hanging in each window). I love the way our house looks from the street!

  37. The dies remind me of the old fashioned lights before all the LED lights came about. I always enjoyed them. We definitely hang lights. The lights throughout the neighborhood take away from the winter gloom.

  38. Yes, but usually only inside. We don't really have very many accessible plugs outdoors for lights, so we stick with putting them inside: on the tree, in windows, and around our banister.

  39. I'm sure this string of lights is easier to deal with than the ones we try to hang every year. We broke down, and got a set of lights wrapped in the garland from the warehouse store. It looks nice, but putting it up, and taking it down is a very scratch affair. :/

  40. Yes we hang a ton of strings of lights at Christmas time, both inside and out, I think the more lights the better, especially on the Christmas tree! Both of these sets are fantastic, the Narwal is so versatile and I love the string of lights so much, really adorable!

  41. Love the lights!
Yes, we put outdoor strings up each year. And I bought a pre-lit tree last year after Christmas but otherwise I was also hanging the string lights on the tree each year too!

  42. We don't hang lights outside on the house, but I do decorate our beautiful banister with lights. I'm loving the garland idea! I think Im going to have to break down and grab these bulb dies.

  43. Such cute examples!! Yup, we string up Christmas lights every year. And they are probably the straightest lights on the block, lol. My husband (an engineer) is quite the perfectionist (tape measure and all) when it comes to the outdoor Christmas lights 😊

  44. SQUEAL! LOVING the New Die and the AMAZING Inspiration!! =) I do hand Lights EVERY Year and I LOVE the feeling they bring to the season!!TANK for sharing and for the chance to WIN!! Have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)

  45. I live in Kenya and not all families here place an emphasis on Christmas decorations, I can count the number of times we had our home decorated over the holidays growing up on one hand. My daughter though has grown up watching American shows on TV so she has grown to think that decorations are the norm. I might just make an effort to decorate for them this year and every year.

  46. I leave my outdoor lights up all year and change the bulbs for each season! My favorite is actually red, white & blue for July 4th. With so many holidays they are barley up for a week and it is time to change them. Right now I have fall colors – red, orange, gold and green. Next up Halloween – orange, gold & purple.

  47. I leave my outdoor lights up all year and change the bulbs for each holiday. My favorite is red, white and blue for July 4th. With so many holidays sometimes they are barely up for a week! Right now they are red, orange, gold & green for fall. Next I'll take out the green & red and add purple for Halloween.

  48. I'm loving all of the stand-alone dies this season! We hang strings of lights on our apartment porch balcony, and on TWO Christmas Trees! Our place gets PRETTY crowded during the holidays! 🙂

  49. Oh wow! When the release came out, I passed over the string of lights die because I wasn't sure of how to use it.
Now that I've signed the different inspirational projects and that video… I think it's a must-have now! 🙂

  50. Yep I send my hubby out there to do it so we don't look like the grinch's of the neighborhood! But I rarely decorate inside if we are going to be gone during the holidays! LOL

  51. We don't do a lot of lights at Christmas but hubby always strings them across the eaves in the front of the house. We save most of the decorating for inside the house but we love our little strings of light.

  52. I love lights but my tree comes pre-lit so I don't really hang lights but I love the look of the tree all lit up with the presents under the tree with the window all frosted up. Love the new stand alone dies. The projects that your design team creates makes me want it all. I really need an App to keep track of what I have, what I have ordered and what is still on my Wish List. Thanks for the chance to win. Good luck everyone.

  53. Oh my goodness, these are so cute! We love to decorate the outside of our house with lights and Christmas decorations.

  54. Those Narwhal dies are just too cute, and I absolutely love String of Lights! I hang Christmas lights on our tree, and my son loves them so much he wants us to leave them up all year round.

  55. We hang strings of lights everywhere….on our trees inside the house , around our porch railings and trees outside as well as all along our roof line. The kids even hang lights around their windows in their rooms. We love lights!!

  56. We always hang lights on our tree, but the days of climbing ladders to hang them on the house are long gone! 🙂 Love these string of lights dies! perfect with the glossy accents, and the yummy colors!

  57. I LOVE Christmas lights. I really only put them on the tree but I do hang stands of icicle lights across the ceiling in my classroom in December. It's so pretty and makes the room feel cozy!

  58. These projects are so much fun. I love the Strings of lights! We used to hang strings of lights at our Christmas tree, when I was a child, but now, our Christmas tree is in country style and I make our own ornaments, so the lights don't match it anymore.

  59. Growing up in Kenya we did not place an emphasis on decorations and lights over the holiday season but my daughter has grown up watching American tv shows so she thinks that decorations are the norm. I will make a point to decorate this year.

  60. Stop it, already! I want everything from this release. Gosh! I really like the String of Lights dies with all of the various sizes. Great idea. As for stringing lights, let's just say that my house is… understated on the outside. On the inside, however, there are lights everywhere.

  61. The String of Lights set is amazing! I love holiday lights and I think they make the greatest border or accent on holiday cards and greetings!! This set is so much fun. Thanks for making the different light sizes, the glow portion, and the two different light toppers!!! What a thoughtful design 🙂 Yes!! We do hang lights. We put lights outside our house and we also decorate and hang lights outside at my parents. So, we get to do this twice every holiday!

  62. Oh, yes! I do hang strings Of lights. Both inside and outside. And I love it. Actually, I have a very hard time talking them down comes The beginning of january. Sadness overload. But I do enjoy them tremendously all through december.

  63. That narwhal and friends die is absolutely adorable and I love the big lights too! We do lights on the tree of course, but don't string them on the house, although we have some over the mantel with a swag.

  64. OK I am a sucker for Christmas lights. I am going to have to get the dies. All of the samples are amazing! I always hang strings of lights for Christmas and Halloween. Different ones of course.

  65. Narwhal and Friends too cute, thank you for sharing your creative and inspiring ideas. I'm a newbie and would love to win this super amazing giveaway with stamps and die sets from Lawn Fawn to start my paper crafting supplies. We string lights on our tree, around our windows and outside. Love the lights!

  66. Oh my goodness! The string of lights is such a great addition…I can already picture making bulbs out of vellum of different colors and adding a light source behind it.

  67. Oh my goodness! The string of lights is such a great addition…I can already picture making bulbs out of vellum of different colors and adding a light source behind it.

  68. I have always loved the lights of Christmas! They make me so happy and bring to mind so many wonderful memories! And these light dies LF is launching are truly de-LIGHT-ful!!!

  69. As a little girl, I remember arriving with my parents at my grandparents home, they always had those big colorful bulbs all around the trim of their house. To this day those lights just make me smile, I love hanging lights all over the place!!!! Both sets are of course super cute, but those bulbs just bring happy memories to my smile! Thank you!

  70. Ooh I love strings of light – I fill up my fresh Christmas tree with lights every year and just leave it for a few days without ornaments! LOL, the lights are the best bits. And of course all the magical creatures who live amongst them. 😉
