Ivy’s Lunar New Year Card and Gift Envelope

We hope you will join us tomorrow for another Lots of Heart Week! We will have sweet samples from the Design Team, and daily giveaways! See you then!

Today we have a fun treat for you! Ivy created a card and gift envelope to celebrate Lunar New Year!

Ivy explains the meaning behind the things she used to create her card and envelope set. “Oranges are a typical symbol of good luck, red and gold colors are considered lucky and prosperous, the red envelope contains “lucky money” that is usually given to kids.” And of course, she added the cute bunnies from Simply Celebrate Critters because this is the year of the rabbit!

For the card, Ivy filled the Fruit Basket with oranges using Zesty Lemon. She added a couple of the cute bunnies along with some pretty citrus flowers and leaves. She stamped the greeting on the label from Small Stitched Envelope with a Merry Messages sentiment. Then she added “lunar new year” in Claire’s ABCs and small sprigs from Giant Thank You Messages in shiny gold embossing!

To create the envelope, Ivy began with a Small Stitched Envelope, adding Henry’s 123s on the flap. Then she created another label this time including the row of bunnies from Simply Celebrate Critters.

Thank you so much for sharing this super cute project with us, Ivy!

  1. Very fun! I’d love for you to do more Asian-inspired stamps/dies. Mama Elephant has some cute Chinese/Japanese stuff, but, of course, all the Lawn Fawn stuff coordinates with other products so scale, line width, etc. are all the same. 🙂
