Design Team Inspiration
The design team has made the most amazing samples! Remember to click on the person’s name to see all of the details and then leave these wonderful DT girls some comment love!
Mindy‘s Build-A-Christmas Tree holiday card is so much fun! And pairing it with Window Frame is such a great idea to create a cozy holiday scene. But then she added the adorable Cheesy Christmas mice to take this card right over the top!
Elena‘s stenciled design is so clever! She stenciled the candy canes in bright pink and white on a white background, adding white gel pen highlights and details. Once the background was ready, Elena assembled the Large Wreath, popping the cute snowman from Frosty Family inside. I love how the snowman is holding the candy cane from Thanks a Latte; it’s so cute!
The Peppermint Stripes Stencils create such a pretty background on Elise‘s beautiful card. I love how she used red and green inks to create a festive holiday look. She added a greeting with Scripty Merry and the new Scripty Merry Outline Add-On. And then to finish her simple design, she arranged holly and berries from Cute Candy Canes and a sentiment from Henry’s Build-A-Sentiment: Winter.
Audrey also used the Peppermint Stripes Stencils, but in a much different way! Her diagonal pattern using just the large stripe looks so perfect as the backdrop for Build-A-Christmas Tree! I love the two-tone green colors of the tree with red and gold decorations! So classy!
Oh, my goodness, Megan‘s Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder design makes me smile! I love that she added the Christmas tree to a red to-go cup, it’s such a fun combination! She also used a tea bag tag and spoon from Stitched Teapot and Stitched Teacup. And how cute is the cup lid with the greetings from Winter Big Scripty Words and Simply Celebrate Winter.
Tammy‘s Christmas card is so sweet! She filled Outside In Stitched Mug with a Gingerbread Friend, Cute Candy Canes and whipped cream! She created the perfect backdrop with Candy Cane Background Stencils on pretty pink!
Grace‘s gift tags/bookmarks are so beautiful! She created Build-A-Christmas Trees with graduated colors of teal and aqua with pink, gold and white ornaments and garland. Then she used Candy Cane Lane paper to cut Stitched Bookmarks.
Grace assembled the trees with all the baubles on the bookmark before tying the tag from Hearts and Stars Skinny Tag with Turquoise Hemp Twine. She cut the tag from vellum and white embossed a greeting from Henry’s Build-A-Sentiment: Winter. How amazing would these tags be on your holiday packages with colors to complement your favorite palette!
Halloween is a candy focused day so why not colorful candy canes? Marine used lots of holiday sets to create an amazing Halloween card. She used Halloween colors with black for the Candy Cane stenciled background. She also used rainbow colored Candy Cane Lane paper and Christmas Garland in black with Halloween vellum ghosts, candy corn, pumpkin and bat! So clever!
Latisha‘s classic holiday card features a pink and red Candy Cane stenciled background, so subtle and pretty. Then she added the greeting with Giant Holiday Messages and the coordinating Lawn Cuts die. I love how she stamped on red cardstock with touches of color.
Elise used pretty Candy Cane Lane paper for the Build-A-Christmas Tree, with gold metallic decorations! Then she layered the tree on more coordinating Candy Cane Lane paper to create her lovely holiday card!
I love the cute mice of Cheesy Christmas with Build-A-Christmas Tree! This pairing is so much fun!

I actually don’t put up a Christmas tree. A few years ago, my husband created a ornament tree made from wood on which I hang my hand painted ornaments. Every year I paint a an ornament that I give to friends and family. I usually make between 20-25 ornaments each year. Of course, I’m one of the recipients and so one of them ends up on my ornament tree.
Every year my kids pick an ornament for the tree. It’s fun every year to decorate the tree and find all the ornaments that were picked from previous years.
I decorate the Christmas tree after hubby puts it up. Start by decorating the bottom with crocheted ornaments that have jingle bells on them. This is so when our 2 fur girls get near the tree wirh their swishing tails I know and nothing on bottom is breakable.
My favorite way to decorate our Christmas tree is with mostly handmade ornaments. Our tree topper is a yellow paper star that is wonky. My girls made it the year our angel tree topper broke and we’ve put it on every Christmas since. We don’t have a fancy tree but for me it’s perfect.

Our tree just gets lights, these days. I used to add all sorts of ornaments, peppermint sticks, and all sorts of hidden gifts on the tree. Beautiful cards!

I love to decorate with pastels! I’m going to try to decorate with pink and mint green this year! I change the color theme every year!

Some of the ornaments are handmade by me, my husband, and the children (both when we were all kids and newly made); some are from our travels; and we try to make or get at least one new ornament each year. Then we have a Christmas tree for our cats, which is decorated with picture ornaments of them with Santa though the years along with other cat ornaments.
All kinds of ornaments really, but they must stay within my my colors for the three. Kind of burgundy -red and not too bright green. More like a “dirty green” I should call it? I used to decorate every year with homemade ornaments when my kids were little. Now that they are out of the house, I have an artificial tree that is decorated with red bows and white lights. It takes me 5 minutes to put it up and take it down. For additional decorations, I give gift cards and make some Lawn Fawn gift card holders and tags to hang on the tree.

I have 2 cats that get into everything. So I make a tree on my living room wall as the Christmas cards roll in. Yes they still try to swat it down, but it’s a lot easier than picking up a real tree and decorations!
Our family has lots of nostalgic ornaments with special meaning. So it’s really fun to get them all on the tree and relive special memories. We also keep a little fence around the tree to prevent our dachshund from opening the presents.

My grandmother started this, but we tie red ribbon bows to the ends of some of the branches. The tree looks so cute and reminds me of my grandmother.
Being an origamist, I built our Christmas tree a few years ago. Then some friends stopped by, and asked to take it home. We obliged. I built a second one, and I never take it down: I just move it from the top of the bookcase, to the more centrally located coffee table. Glass ornaments are hung throughout the house on ribbons. Should another friend come by, and need a tree, I will just have to fold another. 😁
I do like my Hallmark ornaments. I also at one time collected Enesco mice ornaments, and sometimes I put those on.
I love classic Christmas colors with pops of gold
We do a traditional tree, with ornaments made by our kids or collected on our travels over the years.

I also LOVE putting out a slew of mercury glass light-up ornaments (large) on timers. I set them to come on as dusk settles and some stay on up to 6 hrs. I LOVE these! Even if I get home kinda late and it’s dark outside, the house inside looks homey.
The cards you showed are brilliant and amazing. I love the snowman in the wreath with all the candy canes in the back. Elise’s striped card with “Merry” and the holly is also a dazzler. They’re ALL beautiful, honestly!
