Today is our showcase of Highland Cows and Highland Cows Add-On! Have you herd? This might just be your new favorite critter! Design Team Inspiration

Audrey‘s birthday card is so bright and happy featuring the fluffy Highland Cows! And they are right at home in the Grassy Pasture Backdrop: Landscape. She included the cute little mailbox from Highland Cows Add-On and birthday balloons from All the Smiles!

Yainea got really creative with her greeting on this charming birthday card! She used the new Scripty Smile Outline Add-On to cut a window in the Grassy Pasture Backdrop: Landscape, allowing the Giddy for Gingham paper to show through! Those fluffy cows wearing their party hats are just so adorable!

Mindy cut the Grassy Pasture Backdrop with a Stitched Oval which she then layered on a Stitched Scalloped Oval. It defines the mini scene with the Highland Cows and a tree from Tree Before ‘n Afters. And the Giddy for Gingham Ambrosia Salad 12 x 12 paper looks so pretty in the background.

Elise paired this wooly sheep from Critters on the Farm with Grassy Pasture Backdrop: Landscape to send a happy hello! She created the custom greeting combining Scripty Hello, Scripty Hello Outline Add-On and Quinn’s ABCs stamps and coordinating dies.

Latisha grouped the Highland Cows on a Postage Rectangle Stackables panel. The pink Giddy for Gingham paper gives a homespun look that is so sweet and the flower crowns add a charming detail.

Megan used Peekaboo Backdrop to tell a sweet story with our new Highland Cows! She paired Mist cardstock with Rainbow Ever After in the background creating sunny little scenes. Then she combined the fluffy cows with images from A Mole Lot of Love, Eggstraordinary Easter (little chicks), and clouds from Yay Kites!

Grace‘s shaker card is so clever using Giant Hooray as the shaker window! I love how she arranged the hat-wearing Highland Cows around the large greeting with party balloons from All the Smiles. She filled the shaker with our new Tiny Treasures Rainbow Star Clay Pieces, also adding a few as embellishments!

These adorably, fluffy Highland Cows are so perfect for sending cards for any occasion including birthday cards! Tammy arranged her cute critters on a Grassy Pasture Backdrop: Portrait so they can frolic while sending happy wishes to moo!

    With regards to a new critter, I’m having trouble thinking of critters you haven’t done yet. Isn’t that silly? With all the critters in the world. Anyway, one thing I would really like is an alpaca set. I know you had the winter alpaca, which is now retired, but I’m thinking of an alpaca without the scarf. An alpaca will all it’s fleece still on. An alpaca that has been sheared for the summer, etc. We went to an alpaca farm and I would love to be able to scrapbook that page with alpacas!

Also, I can never get enough foxes since they are my favorite animal. Especially the cute little fennec fox from the Critters in the Desert set. He needs some more family to play with.

  243. Highland Cows are such a great cow to feature! Having a Taurus in my life, I’ve always looked for a cow that’s got good energy, which I think highland cows exude. Ha ha!

    Building on the LF brand with other animals…first and foremost that come to mind are the Chinese horoscope animals, namely a rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and boar. Hmmm. I think LF has already done them, (albeit diff sizes, diff motivations). Yes, the highland cow makes for a great Ox substitute! Ha ha! Next year is the Year of the (Fire) Ram. And I’m already ready: my sheep are knitting up a storm! (Baa, Humbug?)
