SPCC #34

Hi! Welcome to another SPCC challenge! These week’s colors are super fun!
Make sure you check out the SPCC site to see this week’s prize, inspiration from the other design team members, and Mr. Linky so you can input your card!
I was inspired by Studio Calico‘s art piece in their booth that I saw at CHA (here is a pic), Moxie Fab’s Tuesday Trigger and CPS’s sketch when I made this card. I definitely took some liberties with the sketch, but the inspiration was there! 🙂

I punched out hearts of different sizes and patterned papers and lined them up on my card. I didn’t even apply adhesive, I just ran it through the sewing machine and it worked!
I tied a bow at the end with my thread and rounded all but one of the corners. I also rolled the edges of my hearts up some for dimension. I have to say that sewing is fun, especially when it not being straight makes the card look cooler! haha! 🙂

Card stock: Neenah Paper Classic Crest (solar white)
Patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket (nutmeg, earth love), Basic Grey (wisteria)
Stamps: Hero Arts (all occasion messages)

Ink: Color Box fluid chalk (warm violet)

Etc: EK Success heart punches, Fiskars corner rounder, Sewing machine and thread

two cool things for you!

Hello everyone!!

I have two opportunities for you!

1. We have added something to the EbtKS challenge! For our challenges on the 15, our around the house challenge, the winner will not only get the prize offered, but the winner will also have the opportunity to serve as a guest design team member for the next month! How cool is that?! Go here to participate!

2. A friend of mine is looking for some Chinese New Year cards. I don’t have time at the moment to make them, so I thought I would pass along the opportunity to you guys. Email her at judyltang@gmail.com . If you don’t know about Chinese New Year, don’t worry, I am sure Judy can help you out with what she wants!

And because a blog post is always better with a card, here is a simple little birthday card!

Practicing Creativity Designs: You’re Dandy

Hello! Welcome to “You’re Dandy” from Practicing Creativity Designs! I made this card using this brand new set from Courtney Baker. This set is so cute and full of posibilities!
Those rays were actually made with her set. It includes the thick and thin rays. It also has a little positioner stamp to help you align the rays! It is super fun to use! Here I used some chalk inks from My Mind’s Eye to create to soft look of the rays. I added more ink to certain parks of the stamp to get that “sun ray” look.
The kite is also from You’re Dandy. I stamped it on the card and then separately to color in and cut out each piece for dimension. The “grass” I made is actually pleated patterned paper. I just held it down with glue dots. Super fun! And also, don’t you love that Cosmo Cricket chipboard? Torendi sells it, and I am super in love with those letters!

So make sure you check out Courtney’s blog today to see cards from other designers. Her big set reveal will be tomorrow! You guys are going to love it!
