Lily Pad Cards Blog Hop

Welcome to stop 3 in the Lily Pad Cards blog hop! If you arrived from the wonderful Tiffany Ervin’s blog, you are hopping right along! If not, I hope you join the hop now! 🙂 This blog hop started on March 28th and will feature seven blogs per day when it culminates on Friday, April 1, with the grand opening of Lily Pad Cards.  Lily Pad Cards is a new challenge blog that will feature interviews, articles, videos, challenges, great prizes, and more!

Although Lily Pad doesn’t officially bloom until April 1, 2011, you’ll be able to see a new sneak peek every day until then. And you’ll definitely want to drop by because there are three prize packages with a total retail value of over $800 – including a $100 gift certificate to a very popular online store and some Lawn Fawn stamps! 🙂 Go here for specific prize details and contest rules.

The hop’s theme is Welcome, and here is Lawn Fawn’s “welcome to the neigborhood” card for Lily Pad Cards!

Lawn Fawn critters are welcoming Lily Pad Cards! I colored critters with Copics from all the the Lawn Fawn critters sets: Critters in the ‘Burbs, Critters in the Sea, Critters in the Snow & Critters in the Forest. I also had to include some Fly Free birds, too! 🙂 I spelled out a custom sentiment with Thickers and Harold’s ABCS, and added some white on white clouds that I cut out myself. I also popped up my white panel on a white card base. I am loving doing that lately :).

Thanks you so much for hopping on by! The next stop on the hop is the fabulous Joy Taylor’s blog. If you hit a bad link, you can always go to Lily Pad Cards and click on the next link in the hop. Please report any bad links to webmaster@inlinkz.com.

We hope you have fun on the hop! 🙂

Have an amazing day,

layout + card + video

DSC_0200

Today, I have a layout, a card made from what was left on my desk after the layout and a super speed video of that card! Phew!

I had so much fun making this layout with my Into The Wood Studio Calico kit. Almost everything was made with the kit! I painted the chipboard stars with Claudine Hellmuth paint and Distress Ink. I used Say Cheese to make a journaling area. I already had that photo printed, so I thought that would be a perfect place to journal! I used Say Cheese, Too on a Studio Calico sticker to create a custom element for the page.

My journaling reads: “Mike and Putter are my two favorite guys. They just make me smile and laugh. They are always there for me and stick by me through thick and thin. They are my perfect little family. <3 2009”

Now here is a video of the card I made with the stuff left on my desk. It is fast motion! I hope you guys like it!
Watch it here or at YouTube!

Here is my post-layout card. I added the stars from Teeny Tiny Backdrops with Malted Milk ink on the card base. It is super subtle and just a nice texture on the card. The Say Cheese polaroids are all paper pieced, and I used a nestability to create the 2.5″ square for the center. Add some washi tape and some Thickers, and it’s done! 🙂

Thanks so much for watching! Big hugs to you all! 🙂

Have an amazing day,

there’s a bun in the oven :)

Hello! I have a fun Plus One card today!

DSC_0159

I just did some simple Copic coloring, cut out the image and added it to the yellow panel along with a sentiment. Super fun and easy! These would be great to announce a pregnancy or congratulate someone on one! To get the “stainless steel” look in the back, I used the chisel end of my Copic marker and colored in uneven strokes. I always have fun using my Copics and pencils to try and get the look of a certain material or fur, etc. Such a blast!
