Here is this week’s fabulous sketch by the wonderful Laura:Great sketch, right?! 🙂

I decided to do a little video tutorial on how to make the “ombre” or tie-dyed umbrellas using the Position-It.
Check it out here or at You Tube:

Here is a close-up of the Partly Cloudy umbrella I did in blue with the Position-It.
I used my new beloved Martha butterfly punch, covered the entire card stock piece in pigment ink and clear heat embossed it for the shiny and 3D look.

A final look at the card. Thank you so much to 2s4y and the Position It! Make sure to head on over to the 2 sketches 4 you blog and play along for a chance to win!

Lawn Fawn Sneak Peek: “Critters in the Sea”

Hello and welcome to the first sneak peek of Lawn Fawn’s June release! I can’t tell you how excited I am about this release! We have three stamps sets and they will be for sale on June 3rd at 12:01 am EDT and until then we will have sneak peeks and giveaways and lots of fun and happy!
Our first set is a “sequel” to a Lawn Fawn favorite named “Critters in the Sea”. Now your ‘Burbs critters can have some ocean loving buddies! This set is fun and perfect for boy cards, and, well, any kind of card! 🙂
I can’t wait to show you the design team samples. I know I always say this, but they have blown me away again! I get giddy when another card pops up in my inbox because they are just so awesome! So let’s get to it! Remember to click on the person’s name or card to see all of the details and leave these wonderful chicas some comment love! 🙂
Tiff has totally rocked it with this card! She used the cutie pie crab from the set and our wave stamp to create this amazing and fun scene! I LOVE how she tore the paper. That is just so cool!

Jessica‘s card is just the cutest! Her cool color scheme is perfect! I love the dimension she added to the fish from the set and that twine is the perfect nautical touch!

Mariana has used one of my favorite sea critters, the dolphin! How brilliant is the hoop that the dolphin is jumping through? It is nautical and fun and just wonderful! She also used one of our “punny” sentiments from the set!

Lynnette‘s card has a pink whale on it! Ooooh! I love pink whales! 🙂 She created a fun scene using the seaweed and shells from the set. This card is so fun and bright. Lynnette has shown us that sea critters can have crazy colors and be super fun!

Ashley has flawlessly combined “Just My Type, Too” and “Critters in the Sea”! This invite is the cutest! She created the coolest background with the bubbles from the set. That would actually make a really cool background on a non-critter card too!
Latisha‘s card is so cute! Her blue whale is awesome. I love her shading! She took the sentiment from the set and curved it to get that cool look. I love that about clear stamps! Also, the whale’s water spout is separate so you can add it or not or use it in a different color. SO fun!

Sarah made an amazing 4 card set! I absolutely love the paper pieced critters! I think these sea critters are perfect for paper piecing! The acetate is genius! I love the way Sarah used the waves! If you look behind the dolphin card you can see some sneaks at other critters that are in this set!

Make sure you click on each of the design team’s names or pictures to go to their blogs and see the details of how they made their cards. You will walk away inspired for sure!

I hope you have enjoyed this sneak peek of “Critters in the Sea”. I can’t wait to show you the full set on the 3rd! But for right now, we need to give one of these away! These critters want a happy home! Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite sea critter is by June 1st at 11:59pm PDT, and we will randomly pick one winner!

Make sure to head back tomorrow, Tuesday June 1st, at 12:01am EDT for our second sneak peek!

Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge #16

Hello and welcome to the next Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge! It is my turn to host, and it is my favorite kind of challenge: the around the house challenge!
This time I chose:
Nail polish! It is so fun! So get out those crazy colors you bought but never wear, that glitter nail polish from the ’90s you still have (guilty as charged), and that top coat you never have the time to apply and get crafty! We cannot wait to see what you do!
Our prize this week is a $30 gift certificate from the oh-so-fabulus Denami Design!

I decided to apply nail polish to some Maya Road chipboard. It was so fun that I am definitely going to do it again! The top coat over the nail polish is definitely a cool look, and my nineties era glitter polish is the right amount of shimmer on the swirly piece!
I had a lot of fun putting this card together, and I hope you guys have a lot of fun with your nail polish too! Head on over to the Everything but the Kitchen Sink blog and enter your card into Mr. Linky. You have until June 9 at midnight CST.

Also, don’t forget that tomorrow is the first sneak peek of the Lawn Fawn June release! The DT is WOWing me again, so make sure to check in and have a change to win some stamps too! 🙂

Card stock: American Crafts
Patterned paper: Crate Paper (very berry), 7gypsies (ecriture)
Etc: Maya road chipboard, Basic Grey chip sticker alphabet, Prima calcutta leaves oatmeal and dynasty flower center, My Mind’s Eye Lush gems, NAIL POLISH!

Thank you so much for visiting!
