Samantha has a fun beachy birthday card to inspire us today! Her clever design uses seashells as balloons with a bit of stamp modifying! You can watch the video below or click HERE to watch at our YouTube channel.

It’s time to “shell-ebrate” with Samantha’s colorful birthday card! She created a simple beach scene by blending with Distress Oxide inks, then adding some white acrylic paint as “ocean spray”.
With the stage set, next Samantha modified the How You Bean Seashell Add-On shells to be balloons! She selectively inked then stamped the tied balloon ends from Really High Five to the shell images. She colored the seashells along with the crabs and sandcastle from Life is Good with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers before using the coordinating dies to cut out everything.
Finally, she white embossed the sentiment on Black Licorice cardstock and popped it up on foam tape.

Oh gosh! I absolutely loved the “Let’s shellebrate” card design! Loved the clever use for the shell add on( think I need that set now!) and I loved the technique used to create the waves crashing on the beach!
This is so gorgeous, Samantha M!!! I think it is just perfect exactly as it is, to answer your question. I would say that this is one of the top five or six cards I have seen in six months…and I watch a LOT of cardmaking videos and visit a LOT of cardmakers’ sites on hops, etc. This is a 15 out of 10!!! The crabs are adorable. The white “foam” of the ocean is totally inspired. The shell balloons is BE.YOND.
