Lawn Fawn Video {10.25.25} Samantha’s Give It a Whirl Christmas Card

Samantha created the most amazing and stunning interactive Christmas card, but it wasn’t without a few struggles along the way! She shares the whole process, including a misstep, to create a Give It a Whirl design in today’s video tutorial. You can watch the video below or click HERE to watch at our YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for watching!

Samantha’s idea for this Christmas card is so creative! I love the rainbow-colored Snowflakes Stencil background she created. She added an extra measure shine by keeping the stencil in place and pressing an embossing ink pad on the snowflakes. Then she removed the stencil and sprinkled on clear embossing powder before heating it to a clear shine, protecting the color underneath. This allowed her to add the dramatic blue inking over the top and the final look is so amazing.

As she always does, Samantha gave the cute Caroling Mice a watercolor look using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then she set about assembling the Give It a Whirl mechanism where one small misstep caused some anxious moments before she realized her error. No harm done, her card turned out amazing. Make sure to watch the video as she shares her creative process, mistakes and all.

And you can also watch the original Intro to Give It a Whirl video for easy step by step directions to successfully assemble this super fun interactive set.

The first scene is simple before giving it a whirl, revealing a second scene and more Caroling Mice!

Thank you so much for sharing the making of this incredibly beautiful card, Samantha!

Karin’s Give It a Whirl Children’s Birthday Card

Karin used Give It a Whirl to create a special birthday card for a child, even spelling out the milestone year!

Karin’s birthday card features Elephant Parade and Elephant Parade Add-On critters in a Give It a Whirl interactive element. She stamped, colored and masked the elephants before adding the pretty stenciled sky and grass on both pieces of the Give It a Whirl. (Be sure to check out the Intro to Give It a Whirl video for detailed assembly instructions.)

For the background, Karin used Distress ink to blend beautiful color before adding little butterflies and Henry’s ABCs. Then she attached this panel to a Fancy Scalloped Rectangle, finally adding the Give It a Whirl element.

I love this sweet sentiment with the peanut topped cupcake! Such a special card to celebrate a little “peanut” who’s five!

Thank you for sharing this fun birthday card, Karin! It’s so adorable!

Catherine found some mice with culinary skill to create this spaghetti themed Give It a Whirl card!

She created the background using Radiant Heart Backdrop with a panel of Fruit Salad 6×6 paper to create a charming Italian restaurant vibe. And she used the Give It a Whirl circle to make the cooking pot. The handles are made using the Build-A-Drink Mason Jar Add-On.

The mice are from A Creature Was Stirring, Dandy Day and Scripty Bubble Sentiments. And the spaghetti is made with the wires from Screen Time. The mice are making the sauce using tomatoes from our recent gift with purchase set Simply Celebrate Veggies. But you could use the little tomato from Veggie Happy Add-On as well. The mushrooms are from Let’s BBQ and the green herbs are from Build-A-Drink.

As you give it a whirl, the sauce ingredients simmer to become a rich, red pasta sauce! Yum!

Catherine used Stitched Simple Wavy Borders to create a stencil to add pattern and movement to the pasta sauce. As a final addition, she stamped the sentiment from Veggie Happy.

Oh, my goodness, Catherine, your card is so brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us!
