Some News + Design Team Inspiration!

First a bit of news: I wanted to let you guys know that we are not having a January release in preparation for the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Trade Show. Don’t worry, though! We have many sets being made as we speak that I think you guys will love, and we will have lots of inspiration going on throughout January! I also hope to take you guys along our journey of being at CHA for the first time. This is a big dream come true, and it is ALL because of you guys! I hope you guys will have fun traveling along this wild and crazy CHA path with us!
Speaking of being inspired: the Lawn Fawn Design team *always* inspires me. I mean, seriously, these girls are amazing!! I thought I would share two projects today that feature sets from this month. They are gorgeous!

Mariana‘s card is absolutely gorgeous! The colors are so fantastic and this sentiment from Hello Friend goes perfectly with this sweet bird from Fly Free! Love it!
Teri‘s card is so sweet! I love the banner and the mix of grid lines and polka dots! The way she colored the birds from Fly Free is just perfection! I am definitely smiling! 🙂
Thank you so much for visiting! Big hugs to you all!
Have an amazing day,

Make a Christmas card in 5 minutes with only what is on your desk!

I wasn’t able to make a card yesterday because Mike and I actually decided to have a date night at Disneyland. We have been working so hard that we haven’t had enough time together. It was so nice! So, this morning I thought I would issue a challenge to myself since I didn’t have anything to blog! My challenge: Make a card in 5 minutes with what I have on my desk! Pretty much all of my Lawn Fawn Holiday sets are on my desk, so I grabbed Bows and Holly! I did some super quick Copic coloring and that part was done! The argyle punch is another one of my black Friday purchases that is still not put away. Haha! I had some Hero Arts layering papers on my desk from last week’s blog hop and used a strip to back the argyle pattern. Baker’s twine is usually somewhere laying around on my desk, and the Thickers came in my Studio Calico add on kit is which actually on the floor, but I think that still counts for my self imposed challenge!
I think my explanation was longer than making the card! Haha! You guys should try this, too! It really forced me to not think and just do! I had no plan at all when I made this card which is generally how I do it, anyways! Haha! But usually the lack of plan makes the card making go slower, by imposing the challenge I had to just go for it! Plus, I felt like I was on a game show. That is awesome.

I have a couple of pictures from our Disney visit. It is all decked out for Christmas and so pretty! It started to rain while we were there, but I don’t mind walking in the rain! Here we are a little drenched but smiling!

I, of course, had to bring out my beloved Hipstamatic app on my iPhone to take a photo of my favorite ride: It’s a Small World. I love the ride, the art, the colors! I love it all! The have so many lights on it at Christmastime that it is blinding! I love it!

Two things I learned in the last 24 hours: Date night is good for the soul. Card making as if you are on a game show rocks.

Hugs to you all! 🙂

thank you for being my friend

Hello! I decided to take a little holiday card break and make a general card using Hello Friend. I just love the large scale of the sentiments! I also love that this one fits perfectly in this awesome EK Success “real estate sign” punch! This set is also so great for showing off pretty patterned paper and embellishments. 🙂 I also love to add some Distress Ink to the sides of my patterned paper and my sentiment shape to give them some definition. I feel like it just makes them look a little more special :).

I based this card after the Card Patterns Sketch! It was so fun to do a challenge. It has been so long since I’ve had the chance! 🙂

Card stock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Sassafras, Studio Calico
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (hello friend)
Ink: Ranger Distress, Jenni Bowlin (brown sugar)

Etc: EK Success round binding edge border punch, EK Success real estate sign punch, Studio Calico Twine, Making Memories butterflies and brad, Crate Paper sticker, Corner Chomper

*I used the Napa Valley Studio Calico kit for this card*
