Remember to shine

Two crafting days in a row!! Wowza!!! I made a layout with Lunar Lights and got distress inky and therefore got happy! Hehe!

I used two Studio Calico kits (Who’s Who & Metropolitan) for my layout and some stuff from my stash. I absolutely adore Studio Calico kits! Such a good mix of stuff, and really great people running the company! Check them out! 🙂

Here is my entire layout. This was the first time I made one about myself. It was nerve wracking! Oh my! I used these really cool House of Three paper that already has embossed areas on it and added Distress Inks. I love the look and there was something so therapeutic about it!

I absolutely love paper piecing the lanterns from Lunar Lights. They are the perfect size for custom embellishments on a layout! After I cut them out I used a paper piercer to pierce a whole through the lantern “loop” and then through the base paper of the layout. I threaded some baker’s twine through to make them look like they are hanging. I just love this look!

Here is my journaling:
“Sometimes I get dragged down by the every day. I let little silly things affect me when I shouldn’t. I need to remember to always let my best self show through. I need to remember to be awesome. I need to remember to shine. 2/24/2011”
I always need the reminder to shine and not get dragged down by the little things. This is a reminder I especially needed today!

Have an amazing day,

You are just the ticket!

I crafted. Woah. I am rusty. It’s amazing how you loose your flow after not crafting for a while. I think it will come back to me after a few more projects! 🙂 Let’s hope! Don’t judge this card too harshly! Haha!

I used Harold’s ABCs to come up with a custom sentiment for these awesome Pink Paislee tickets that I bought. I also thought it would be fun to make a card that was fun and cute with these tickets that are more shabby/distressy. 🙂

I colored my tickets with Distress Inks and my foam ink blending tool. I stitched around the tickets and the whole kraft piece. Oh my I had to fight with my sewing machine. I finally got it working again! Thank goodness! I don’t know who would have eventually won that battle. I am glad we were able to compromise. Hehe :).

Thank you so much for coming by and seeing my back-to-crafting card!

Card stock: Hero Arts, Papertrey Ink
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Harold’s ABCs)

Have an amazing day,

Thanks to PC and CC!

Hello everyone! Oh my has it been busy here at LFHQ getting all of the orders ready for our 70 stores! I can’t tell you how much I miss crafting! I have card ideas in my head, and I hope I can get to them soon! I am itching to get inky!

For now, I thought I would share some other places we’ve been on the web!

Thank you so much for Paper Crafts Connection and Cath for including two of our sets in their “Trends by the Dozen” feature! Lunar Lights and Say Cheese were both featured!  Cameras and lanterns are trending! Wooo! We can’t wait until we start seeing all of your projects with the new sets. You will start seeing them around everywhere soon! 🙂 Thank you so much PC and Cath! You guys rock! 🙂 http://www.papercraftsconnection.com/blog/2011/02/22/trends-by-the-dozen-2/

We also wanted to thank Craft Critique for putting us on their Best of CHA post! We got Best in Stamping and Best Booth Design! Thank you so, much Craft Critique!! You guys ARE the best!

And in the spirit of thankfulness, here are some awesome DT thank you cards!

Chan rocks paper piecing and uber cuteness with Critters in the Sea and Harold’s ABCs. I love how she customized her sentiment and made it curved, too! Oh, and did you see that Chan is a cover girl on Paper Craft’s March/April issue? Congratulations, Chan!!!! You rock!

Lynnette took Teeny Tiny Backdrops and made it masculine by using this awesome color scheme and patterned paper. I just love this! It would be perfect for the musical man in your life!

Teri‘s card is just way too cool! Using repeating sentiments in different fonts to create the butterfly design is genius! As many of you know, we send a little thank you stamp with each order. That is where Teri got all of her thank you stamps! This is such a cool way to use them!

Thanks for coming to the blog and hanging out for a little in Lawn Fawn land! Sending big hugs to you all!

Have an amazing day,
