Lawn Fawn Intro: Blue Skies

Hello and welcome to the first post of Lawn Fawn’s Summer release and inspiration week! We are just so excited about this week! We have seven new stamp sets and eight new Lawn Cuts die sets, and they will be revealed and available for purchase on May 9th at 12:01 am EDT and until then we will have fun posts and giveaways and lots of inspiration!

Today is our showcase of the “Blue Skies“. This 4″ x 6” set has gorgeous hot air balloons and is so much fun to use.  It also has a coordinating Lawn Cuts die set! The design team has made the most amazing samples!  We also have a little video on the bottom showcasing some fun ways of using the set including a card from start to finish!

Elena‘s card is a vintage beauty! I love how she stamped Interlocking Backdrops over the balloon and her sweet pink clouds. Bannerific is a great addition here, too!

Chari‘s coloring is gorgeous! I love how she added the hearts and stars to the balloons and banners. So sweet! The curved sentiment is a great idea. I love that you can do that with clear stamps!

Yainea‘s sunset scene is beautiful! I love the balloons floating up the card, the gorgeous gold embossing, and the fun way she showcased her sentiment!

Tiffany‘s layout is amazing. She made it for the mom of this returning soldier. Isn’t that wonderful? I love her camouflage balloons and the way she tied the Lemon Lawn Trimmings around them. Quinn’s ABCs is perfect for her title!

Lynnette‘s cards are gorgeous. I love the way she colored the balloons, and a tall card with this set is genius! I also love how she stacked both sentiments. They look so great that way!

Melissa S.’s layout is stunning! I love how she paper pieced the balloons with white embossing on some Daphne’s Closet papers. It is so fun to make custom scrapbook embellishments with stamps! She also used our new Scalloped Circle Stackables dies, too!

I love how Latisha decorated the hot air balloon with the hearts from the set. They fit perfectly! This color scheme is totally gorgeous, and I love all of the floating hearts!

Melissa M.‘s Pink Lemonade layout is so much fun! I love the way she created custom embellishments with the hot air balloons. The coloring is so fun! She also created those fun circles using our new Circle Stackables dies!

Yainea used the Blue Skies dies to create some fun negative space for the clouds. I love that many of the dies in this set work with the stamps and without them! Misting makes a great sky, and I love the sentiment stamped on vellum!

  2. Great job design team! I feel so inspired…and want to take a balloon ride. 🙂 The whimsical feel of the balloons make me excited for summer. I love sitting around a fire pit enjoying good company, food, and drink during the beautiful summer nights.

  4. My favorite summer time activity is to go garage sale-ing with my mother. We usually get a slurpee and shop for great deals just having fun in our neighborhood and make a day of it without going too far or spending too much. All of the cards and layouts are adorable!

  5. I love having BBQ's with family and friends and photo sessions near the water/ beach in flipflops and sunglasses are always fun. 🙂

  154. My favorite summertime activity is working on card designs. I watched the video and posted this on it: Great video! I especially seeing how to use the distress inks. Cool how you can color and then use the die cuts to cut out the pieces. I learned a lot thank you!

At first, I didn't want to watch them because of the time, but your step-by-step instructions and comments like why you used the unstamped clouds are helpful. Plus I can hear how happy you are creating and that makes the videos all the more enjoyable. I am definitely going to ask my LSS to order this stamp/die set.

  157. My favorite summertime activity is probably just reading! I am a teacher and never get to read for pleasure so I love going to the beach or a park and reading. Sounds silly and boring, I know but it makes me happy. 🙂

  158. My favorite summertime activity is walking the beach early in the morning, when it isn't crowded or too hot and I can just enjoy the feel of the water between my toes and the sound of the surf crashing on the shore. Nothing brings me peace like this!

I have a lot of summer activities that I like to do, but I guess the funnest is anything to do with the beach (which I don't get to do enough of!) and training for triathlons. I spend a lot of time running and biking, and pool and open water swimming. When I'm not doing those things, I try to squeeze in time to make paper creations with Lawn Fawn stamps, paper, dies & embellishments! I LOVE Lawn Fawn! – Chris E. 🙂

Thanks for having scrapbooking layouts using the stamps (a personal goal for this year – use stamps on layouts! :D) In the summer hubby and I enjoy hanging out on the front porch after the sun goes down with cocktails, enjoying the cooling evenings and listening to the quieting neighborhood.

  317. Those balloons look so cute! I love that they can be colored in, paper pieced, or covered in patterns. They're a great match with Bannerific; Elena had a great idea to pair the two.

    My favorite activity for the summer is a good Nerf Gun or Super Soaker fight. I had them often as a kid, playing with my sister and cousins in the backyard. I recently picked it back up again when I found out that others my age still play with them. In fact, the SF Bay Area is filled with adults who have regular Nerf Gun battles throughout the summer, so I live in the perfect place for this sort of thing. It's great exercise, too!

    In the summer, my favorite thing to do is to cycle. I love mountain biking and spectating the gorgeous nature in my country, and I love city cycling too, with feelings of freedom, warm breeze in my hair, with my summer jeans skirt and flip-flops. And then to sit on some terrace in the evening and to sip lemonade or cold mojito… Summer is just the best!

  345. Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to
    her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it
    pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
