First Saturday with Megan {6.7.25} A Seaside Pull ‘n Slide Surprise Scene

Woohoo! Summer Release Week is coming soon! Join us for the Big Giveaway on Tuesday, June 10! We are so excited to introduce our cute and summery new stamps, dies, stencils and more. There will be Design Team inspiration, intro videos and daily giveaways through June 19 when the new goodies will be released. We can’t wait!

It’s the first Saturday in June; this year is flying by so fast! Megan‘s beautiful interactive Pull ‘n Slide Surprise card is perfect for Father’s Day with a Smooth Sailing ocean theme!

Megan chose a lovely color palette for inking and stenciling a seaside scene! She used Ocean Wave Stencils with Distress Oxide Ink in Salvaged Patina and Faded Jeans for the water, and Saltwater Taffy and Squeezed Lemonade for the sky. Then she cut a Stitched Hillside Border and inked it with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks. And then Megan added a Smooth Sailing sentiment on a Simple Wavy Banner to add to the sandy hill.

Next, she stamped and colored images from Smooth Sailing. She also used a mouse from Whoosh Kites, rocks for the lighthouse from Kanga-rrific Add-On and extra clouds from Fly High. On top of the interactive slider, Megan added “hugs” from Long Distance Hugs.

Thank you so much, Megan! I love this beautiful and inspiring card!

Lawn Fawn Video {2.10.24} Jessica’s Interactive Light-up Lighthouse Card

Today Jessica shares a special interactive card design! She shows us how to create a light-up card using a magnet activated circuit with Chibitronics products. You can watch the video below or click HERE to watch at our YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for watching, I hope the video inspired you to try something new!

Jessica created her stormy scene using images from Smooth Sailing, Cloudy Stencil and Ocean Wave Borders. She used Distress Oxide Inks to add color to the scene and colored the stamped images with Copic markers.

All the fun interactive magic happens “behind the scenes” on this card. In the video, Jessica shows how to use conductive fabric tape, a reed switch and an animating blink LED light to create the circuit. She used magnets to attach the sailboat to the right side of the card. Then when you move the sailboat to left side, the magnet activates the reed switch under the waves to light up the lighthouse.

This clever light-up lighthouse theme goes so well with the sentiments from Smooth Sailing!

Thank you so much for this clever inspiration, Jessica! Your card is so clever and fun!
