Design Team Inspiration

The design team has made the most amazing samples! Remember to click on the person’s name to see all of the details and then leave these wonderful DT girls some comment love!

Elena created a super festive card to ring in a new year! She used Foiled Sentiments: Happy New Year on an acetate panel with gold foil! Then she attached the acetate panel to a Snow Flurries Backdrop to create a spectacular shaker card!

Yainea‘s cake topper will elevate any holiday celebration! She foiled the Happy New Year greeting on a black Outside In Stitched Star then sandwiched a skewer and an acetate strip with another star.

Then Yainea added 2025 in glittery gold Louie’s 123s and more gold stars on the acetate before tying a bow with Denim Blue Hemp Cord and gold sparkle cord.

Audrey‘s birthday card could not be more colorful and fun! She inked a stitched rectangle panel in rainbow colors before adding Bokeh Circles Hot Foil. She added the Giant Happy Birthday and strip of rainbow washi to finish this cheery design!

Mindy created an elegant Happy New Year shaker card foiling the sentiment on acetate and framing it with a gold sparkle Let’s Celebrate Backdrop! I love the colorful sequins she used to fill the shaker!

Marine also foiled the new year sentiment on acetate, but she used Outside In Stitched Balloons to create a shaker element! I love how she used Candy Cane Lane paper with coordinating cardstock in pretty pastels. She also used holographic cardstock for the Henry’s 123s 2025!

Latisha‘s festive card is full of shiny things! She foiled the Happy New Year sentiment in pretty blue foil on a rose gold metallic Cross-Stitched Circle! Then she layered it on a Fancy Scalloped Circle before adding it to a Let it Shine Starry Skies panel with lots of shiny gold stars!

Grace created a festive shaker card using a Reverse Stitched Scalloped Rectangle as the frame. She filled the shaker with colorful bits before closing the window with vellum. Then she combined a Happy New Year hot foiled star with the Tiny Gift Box penguin holding balloons to send a cheery greeting!

Mindy used the Bokeh Circle Hot Foil Plates to send some joy this holiday season. She inked the background in icy cool colors to match the shiny foils she chose. Then she added a border of snowflakes with Snow Flurries Backdrop and a simple greeting with Cole’s ABCs.

  1. Wonderful samples!
I have not used hot foils yet, but I do have a laminator!
Many years ago I used foils with a glue application that were really popular at the time!

  2. No I can’t make hot foil yet, but really wish to own a machine where I can do that. But for now just looking at these great examples.

  3. I don’t have a tool for foil, my mom and I were just talking about it. She and I share craft supplies, it would be nice to add a foiling machine to our repertoire

  4. I have not used hot foil plates but I really like the fireworks using multicolored foil. I may give this a try. Thanks for all the great inspirations with this reveal.

  5. I don’t dare to start with hot foil; it´ll be an expensive road to enter when one suffers from the want-it-all-syndrome 🤣🤣🤣 But it looks SO GOOD!!

  6. I started out using toner foil products and added hot foiling to the mix when those products came out. I need to use it all more as I love the extra little something that foiling gives a card. Thank you for another amazing release week.

  7. I have a Glimmer machine, but rarely use it. I like the Bokeh effect being shown, so maybe I need to use my machine more.

  8. I sometimes use foil but I use a laminator and our laser printer to do it. I also have an embossing powder that foils.

  9. I use transfer foil with a laminator or hot foil with my Silhouette machine but I don’t have any hot foil plates or a machine to use them.

  10. Hot foiling is not a technique I’ve tried yet. The results on these cards are gorgeous, the bokeh effect are my faves.

  11. I have only tried hot foil a couple of times, and it hasn’t worked well. I love to see others do it, though. I HOPE AND PRAY that 2025 will be the start of good times…

  12. I love using foil on my cards. It adds such a fun pop of shine. Can’t wait to see what products Lawn Fawn brings us next for foiling!

  13. I am loving my foiling. I just got a glimmer and I use my old Minc now more than ever. The new colored foils and foil plates are so gorgeous.

  14. I have done some hot foiling using the Big Scripty Words, Winter Big Scripty Words and Merry Christmas hot foil plates. I’m still kind of new to it, but slowly getting better.

  15. My husband bought me a thermal laminator at the 2nd hand store. I know it’s not an official foiling machine, but I’m eager to try it!

  16. I do not have a hot foil machine and there’s no room in the inn for it either. I do love the look of the hot foil though.

  17. I have a hot foiling machine, love the look on the cards but sadly enough I don’t use it often enough. I’m a procrastinator so I usually wait till the last minute to do my cards. So, I am always rushed and don’t have the time to fuss with it. I do have a lot of products though.

  18. I have both the Glimmer hot foiling machine and the Fuze but I definitely don’t use foil enough on my cards. I have found that using the Fuze with poly-glaze sheets gets the best result. I often have lots of over-foiling with the hot foil plates and that drives me crazy.

  19. I have a great need for the Happy New Year dies. My son’s birthday is New Year’s Day. Finding ideas for his birthday cards is always challenging. Your New Year’s release would solve my dilemma.

  20. I love the look of hot foil on cards but have not purchased a hoyle foil plate system so no, I haven’t hot foiled yet.

  21. Love the look of foil on cards but I have never done hot foiling. My Cricut machine has a foiling tool that I use when I want to add some sparkle to my cards!

  22. No, I haven’t used a hot foil plate. I’m not sure if I want to invest in the cost of one. I think foiled cards are gorgeous.

  23. I don’t have a glimmer, but I have purchased a plate in the past to use at my friend’s house 🙂 Can’t wait to see “new products” tomorrow, yay, so excited 🙂

  24. I have not hot foiled. I have completely resisted. It looks fabulous but the added expense and lack of storage are impediments.

  25. Yes! I bought the Lawn Fawn stars hot foil plate and used it on some birthday cards I made. So super easy and such a great effect!

  26. No. I don’t have the hot foil machine yet… it’s on my Christmas Wish List. The Hot foil sure looks pretty on cards.

  27. The cards created by the design team are so cute. I have not used hot foil on my cards. Perhaps I will try at sometime in the future.

  28. I haven’t used hot foil as I still didn’t get the machine for it, but looking at all the awesome cards here, it just might be a birthday gift from me, to me! 😍

  29. I do use my Glimmer Hot Foil machine for my cards! I especially love foiled sentiments, with dies that cut them out!

  30. Despite loving how it looks, I have not used hot foil on projects, it’s hard to justify such a specialized product when I already don’t craft enough LOL

  31. No I have not used any hot foil products yet. Maybe when I turn 50 I could treat myself with something like that…. Love all the projects shown.

  32. These are beautiful! I have never used foil but would sure like to now! Your videos are always so helpful for learning new techniques. Thank you!

  33. I do not own a hot foil machine…I tried hot foil on a card I made at my local stamping studio try it day, it was so much fun

  34. I have used it a little, and even have the foil fireworks- need to make some New years cards! Thank you for the inspiration!!

  35. Yes, I have used Foil plates in my craft room. At first I was intimidates, my hot foil machine sat for a while unused. I decided after watching a few videos to try it. I’ve only tried it on a simple plate. The best video was yours! I loved the result and will have to get more into it. I still have questions.

  36. I have the machine but it’s not in use yet. I thought I would have time this past summer to teach myself and rewatch videos… but I was forced to switch buildings and had to pack up all my stuff for the 2nd time in three years. It has just about undone me, if I ‘m honest. One more move and I will probably resign or retire.
The images are GORGEOUS. LOVE the bokeh!!! Thx for the video!!

  37. I’ve not used hot foiling yet. It’s funny you ask this question, because just last night, I took out the Glimmer machine that I bought for myself LAST Christmas *blush*
It’s on my to-do list this weekend to look up videos to remind myself how to use it! I love the shiny effects foiling gives projects, and I’m determined to make some pretty things with it before the year is out.

  38. I just bought a hot foil machine but I gave to my husband to wrap up as a Christmas present, is I cannot play with it yet!!!!

  39. I own a hot foil machine and use it but not as often as I should. I love how it looks on the card but it’s tricky and doesn’t always work. Buying a hot foil plate is also another expense, sometimes its hard to justify buying them as quite expensive.

  40. I haven’t hot foiled! It looks amazing! I am trying to work with what I have for now, which does not include hot foil plate, etc.

  41. I recently just purchased my Glimmer machine and it’s very new to me. But I love these foiled sentiments and can’t wait for me. They are going to be fun to use with my machine.

  42. The Bokeh Circle Hot Foil Plates is so pretty. It will look on so many projects This was an awesome release this month.

  43. I have not tried hot foiling, but I would love to. I have so much stuff that I have used my grit to not purchase the foil products! I love the look and how many options there is but I am behaving!
