Fawny Holiday Video

Joy continues the Fawny Holiday Week fun with cheery, watercolor scene featuring Frosty Family and Treat Cart! You can watch her video tutorial below or click HERE to watch at our YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for watching! We are so happy to share fun videos all week!

Joy gave her images rich, beautiful color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. They create a pretty watercolor look with shading and highlights. Her Christmas scene features cute snowmen and holiday sweets with Frosty Family, Treat Cart and Treat Cart Add-On: Coffee. She also included the Christmas Dreams tree with colorful garlands.

Joy created sparkling, snowy detail by stenciling Snow Flurries Background with Fairy Dust Stencil Paste!

More Design Team Inspiration

Audrey‘s red and white card is so eye-catching! The rich, red color in the background contrasts with the delicate snowflakes from Snow Flurries Backdrop. The Frosty Family snowman coordinates with red details, while the Scripty Merry greeting continues the color combo as well.

Oh, my goodness, Mayra combined lots of sets to create a super cute holiday shaker card! She layered a pink Stitched Snowflake Backdrop and snowy hills as a base for the scene!

Then Mayra filled the scene with a pair of Treat Carts! She filled the carts and Just Add Glitter table with goodies from Treat Cart Add-On: Coffee, Tea-rrific Day and A Creature Was Stirring! And she featured the girl from Bicycle Built for You with a cute elf from Holiday Helpers.

Catherine‘s Platform Pop-Up is an amazing wind-up music box! She will have all the step-by-step instructions for this special Build-A-Christmas Tree holiday decoration HERE.

Her clever design used the Carrot Treat Box as the base covered with four decorated trees. It also conceals the music box mechanism that turns the tree and plays Christmas music. She used Candy Cane Lane paper for the Platform Pop-Up, decorating the base with Peppermint Border!

The Cheesy Christmas mice rock around the Christmas tree, while a Christmas Before ‘n Afters couple smooch behind the tree! Check out the video below to see Catherine’s brilliant project in action. This would make a very special keepsake gift for Christmas!

  1. It’s always special to get Lawn Fawn gift cards. 😁
One year we went skiing instead of giving gifts. It was a lot of fun and full of memories.

  2. I wanted the Harry Potter first trilogy so badly and someone got it for me early (before the hype) and it was such a surprise that someone knew I would want it and had secured it in advance!

  3. A special holiday gift I have given was to my nieces and nephews a scrapbook for each of them of a collection of all the hand drawn sketches and paintings their grandmother did over her lifetime.

  4. I will often give mini scrapbooks of time spent with friends during the year. They will often use Lawn Fawn die cut images or stamped images to decorate the pages.

  5. *** Catherine’s Pop-Up card link is not working. It doesn’t show her card. πŸ™ I scrolled down to her October cards looking for it.
When my children and grandchildren were born, I gave them a Hallmark β€œBaby Ornament.” Every year after that they have received a daughter, son, granddaughter and grandson ornament. My original thought was when they left home to start their own, they would have 18+ special ornaments for their tree. πŸ₯°β™₯️πŸ₯°

    1. Anything that obviously isn’t a quick buy but is thought out to mean something to the receiver is the best gift

  6. I received a hand painted ceramic trivet of santa to sit holiday baking dishes/trays on. It brightens up the buffet before it gets filled with goodies. πŸ™‚

  7. The past few years my mom has made me a handmade calendar. We exchange our handmade calendars on Christmas Day as the last present from under the tree.

  8. Catherine’s music box is absolute genius!
A favourite gift…handmade ornaments from my Grandma’s. They decorate the tree every year and are treasured keepsakes.

  9. I collected a set of second-hand art books to give to my husband this year for the holidays. He wanted to buy them many years ago when they came out, but we were young and didn’t have the money to spare. Money is not such a problem now, and I hope he will be surprised to get them.

  10. Years ago, I made about 12 clocks from old CD’s using papers, charms, etc. to give as gifts. Well, on Christmas Day, my husband surprised me with one that he had made for me!! While I was at work, he would go into my craft room and look at the ones I made and went from there – even going to the craft store to buy things for it (Tweety bird stickers, lavender paper roses, etc). I was so moved by the gesture that I cried! lol

  11. I gave my mom an album that preserved some antique Christmas paper ornaments that belonged to my dad. She cried when she got it.

  12. The best gift I have ever given is the gift I gave my husband who has everything LOL. It was the gift of time. I pre planned things to do each month and put them in 12 envelopes that we would open at the beginning of each month then we would do those. Some things were free such as a picnic and some things I pre paid for such as a movie date. He loved it.

  13. I try to give my mom a gift she needs but never expects to get every Christmas (or her birthday if I cannot find it). My goal in life is to get my best friend a gift that he loves. He doesn’t like giving or getting presents so it is very difficult.

  14. Mayra’s card is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave my identical twin sister a calendar with pictures of us growing up for each month!

  15. Most of the special gifts I’ve given or received are those hand-made ones. Always a special touch and thought and care go into those

  16. So many amazing inspiration projects today! That music box is fantastic-so creative and pretty! One thing we love to do each year is give gifts to our neighbors. We make homemade goodies and cards and deliver them on Christmas Eve. Our neighbors also give us gifts. It isn’t so much about what we give and get from each other every year (although I still use an adorable coffee mug I received one year as my daily coffee cup), but we are just so grateful to have wonderful neighbors, and like to show our appreciation for each other.

  17. I love sharing my passion for crafting with others especially through teaching children. I recently made some cards with about 25 children and their parents who had never used it even heard of a die cutting machine and it was so rewarding to bring them all joy and allow them to be creative. They really loved embossing folders and being able to use the die cutting machine themselves lπŸ₯°

  18. My husband made me a wood stamp storage unit that he managed to keep from me while he was building it. It was such an amazing Christams gift!

  19. OMG!! I can’t wait to see how Catherine created that amazing music box project! πŸ‘πŸ‘ My all time favorite Christmas gift is when my husband proposed on Christmas Eve, many years ago.

  20. I gave our grandson what I call a popcorn popper (stick a toddler pushes, and balls pop pop pop as he walks). The face he made (we got a photo–my favorite photo!) was the biggest surprise ever!!! And he loved going on “popcorn walks” with me, just like our son did at his age….

  21. Two years ago, we surprised my daughter with VIP tickets to the Eras Tour in Vegas. She knew that we were going to the concert when we bought the tickets during the fiasco when Ticketmaster crashed, however, neither one of us realized at the time that the tickets we bought were actually VIP tickets. So we kept that part a secret until Christmas and surprised her! It was her very first concert. What a way to set the bar high for future concert experiences! LOL

  22. A special holiday gift I’m giving this year is concert tickets for my husband to see his favorite band. I can’t wait to see his surprise!

  23. My mom is making me a quilt for Christmas this year and I am so excited to see the finished blanket! It has been an absolute labor of love for the last few months and she has asked my opinions along the way to make sure I love it. ❀️

  24. A special gift was one we have the boys, an XBox. They had wanted one so badly. I had waited in line for 3 hours to be one of the first to get one. Their faces and surprise was unforgettable!

  25. Adorable cards! Loving the snowmen and the treat carts!
I made some fabric-covered photo albums one year to give as gifts. I remember working really hard on them, and chose fabrics that I thought each person would like. During the time I was making them I had a thumb injury (not due to my crafting!) that made it hard to finish them, but I was able to get them done on time!

  26. I have given and received so many special gifts over the years that it’s difficult to choose just one! Think the gifts my husband gives me are the most special though! And the gift of time spent with our family throughout the year is truly the gift that keeps on giving!

  27. I gave my grandson’s each a full scrapbook of the first 5 years of their lives when they were about 10 years old and they still love looking at those scrapbooks and they are in their early 20’s.

  28. I gave a complete Cardmaking Kit in plastic bins for my mom, who also wanted to get into cardmaking but is very short on funds and space. She loved it!

  29. Every year, I fill a shoebox with toys and items for a child in another child for Operation Christmas Child. It’s the most special gift I give every year, even though I never get to see the child it goes to. But putting it together is what brings the magic of Christmas to my heart every year.

  30. I make calendars for special people using my lawn fawn dies and cuts. They are so fun to create and the recipients love them.

  31. One year, my husband have me a statue of Christ. It’s one of my most prized posessions. My home doesn’t feel right if it’s not in its place.

  32. I do not give gifts these days, but I do send cards each year. Often Lawn Fawn cards are the fun ones that I create. A favorite Christmas gift is a picture that I selected with a house scene that looks gold when the light hits it just right. It is still on our wall over 30 years later.

  33. I made my niece a desk calendar with many Lawn Fawn critters glued onto the pages. I almost want to make one for myself too.

  34. I have received so many wonderful handmade gifts from family and friends…hard to choose just one! My husband and I enjoy giving Christmas cookie trays to friends and relatives. They don’t bake so they always act like we have given them gold!! HA HA!! Today’s cards are darling and I loved that Joy showed her technique for coloring images…going to try that soon!!

  35. I would mail my kids packages when they were away at college with homemade cookies and other goodies. One year my youngest sent me a packages of cookies he made. That was my favorite gift.

  36. A couple of years ago I received a series of ‘duck’ related gifts after going through a tough few months of duck rescue and rehab. It was very sweet.

  37. My son and his wife took me and my husband out to dinner for our Christmas gift. I loved that we got to spend the time with them.

  38. Last Year, I adopted a Highland Cow in England for my mom, it came with monthly e-newsletters about her cow, pictures, and a stuffed animal made to look like her Cow. Adoption costs supported the historical farm that promotes the rejuvenation of the highland cow and the environment. She was so thrilled. Now she takes her stuffed cow with her to sew and watches craft videos with it. That really filled my heart with so much joy.

  39. Amazing projects. I made Christmas ornaments for grandparent with a baby photo of their grandson. I put the photo in a bubble and fill it with fake snow. This was their first grandchild. They put it on the tree every year. This year I will make it with a photo of their granddaughter. It is simple, but it means a lot to them.

  40. I received a gift of Copic Alcohol markers. It made my year! It’s a gift I can use everyday, It was extra special because it was a friend who inspires me to craft, so that makes it extra special.

  48. Growing up with three sisters, every Christmas eve we got a pair of pajamas made by my mom. She sewed, knitted and crocheted. I still have some mittens she knit and they always remind me of my mom.

  49. I love the treat cart card. Since my card making hobby began 3 years ago I have been making calendars for my 2 daughters, 3 granddaughters and 3 friends.

  50. A few years ago, I had a necklace made for my mom. It was her own mother’s handwriting & said “Love, Mom”.

  51. I received, from my daughter, a framed , handmade art piece which listed all my grandchildren and the date they were born. I will treasure this always.

  52. My handmade Christmas cards are what friends and family look forward to receiving every year. Many have a box full from over the years which is special to me that they keep them and some eve display them every year!

    Best gift! πŸ’—πŸπŸ’πŸπŸ’—

  60. I adore handmade gifts. As a child I didn’t appreciate them. As an adult, I cherish them because someone took the time to make something special for me.

  61. About 15 years ago, my sons made me a jar that said “Why we love you” and they wrote out about 50 reasons why on separate strips of paper. I love that little jar and keep it on my craft desk. In fact, I just opened not too long ago and read them again- so sweet and funny!

  62. One year, a friend made me homemade peppermint bark because she knows how much I enjoy it. It was so sweet of her to do that!

  65. That is some adorable inspiration!! I love making scrapbooks or mini albums for people! They always feel so special to gift.

  68. I got my new husband – who is better w/ computers than I – to photoshop a fake magazine cover for my dad. We used a Forbes or a Money magazine cover and put my dad’s face on the front. He had joined an investing club and was always studying “the Market.” He laughed the hardest I have EVER heard him laugh when he opened it. It’s my favorite gift of all time.
The cards you’ve shared are FANTASTIC! I love Joy’s video, too!

  69. My parents gave me a piccolo. It was very special because I know the cost of it meant they made some sacrifices to be able to get it for me.
