Hello and welcome to the Operation Write Home Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop! We are proud and thrilled to be supporting Operation Write Home. It is such a wonderful organization and even more dear to our hearts as our design team members Tiffany and Latisha have husbands in the Army and Navy. Operation Write Home is an organization that sends blank handmade cards to deployed service members so they can write home to their families.  How amazing is that?!
Today we are hopping along to provide some inspiration to you all to help create cards for this wonderful organization! We have a giveaway at the bottom of this post, too!

Nancy created this beautiful card for us today using sketch 43. Operation Write Home is very important to Nancy as her son is a Marine Corps veteran. Sending a big thanks to Nancy, her son, Ben, and her whole family!

  2. Such a great card for operation write home. I am not sure but this is one of the few sets I don't own. I am rethinking buying it after seeing how versatile it is beginning to really love this set. Please thank Ben for his service Nancy I know he will love the card.

  5. Thanks to everyone who serves now or who has served in the past. My dad was in WWII, but not combat and he always felt he wasn't doing much for the country. I disagreed with him; he did what he was assigned to do to the best of his abilities. As they say "all gave some; some gave all." Nice card too!

    1. I should have mentioned how much I like the way you have used so many different Lawn Fawn stamps in the card. It's always nice to see how to get more mileage out of the stamps we already own.

  10. I, too, have been making cards for OWH for about six months now and thoroughly enjoy it. It gives me such a sense of satisfaction to know that my hobby/passion is bringing pleasure to our heroes and their families!

  34. I love the Lawn Fawn USA die cut and the addition of the stars & stripes was a great idea. The colors & embossing are a nice touch.

  35. This is my favorite card in the entire hop! I love anything lawn fawn, and I'm so excited to see they released dies for the critters down under stamp set. Would love to have this set as well, as well as the scripty word dies, and the new chit chat set is swesome fun!!

  38. Gheesh, my very favorite Lawn Fawn hookin' up once again with my favorite OWH blog hop. And Nancy's card is really inspiring. I love how she used so much texture, the really cool stamping, and I've loved that LF set since it was recently released….I've been wanting it since the sneak peeks happened on it months ago! Thanks for being Lawn Fawn—you guys make me smile when I look at your projects and inspire me to (buy!) create more things with LF. LOVE it!

  79. Love the design of the map of the USA contiguous states with a flied of blue stars and red stripes. So creative. Wonderful set of stamps with a globe and the sentiment "You mean to world to me."

  92. Thank you for supporting OWH! The card is wonderful and I really love the way velum was used for the sentiment. "Wish you were here" resonates with me as the mom of a deployed US Sailor–and yet that sentiment is so relevant for many different situations.

  131. Wow! What a fabulous way to use these products!! Operation write home is a great program. We do something similar where our work and we adopt a platoon and send them cards and other goodies.

  155. As someone who grew up in a military family, I can understand how important communication with those back home is. Operation Write Home is a wonderful program! And this is a beautiful card to express appreciation for all those in the service.

  159. Love this card! It's perfectly patriotic! I'm continually praying for the soldiers and their families. My brother is getting ready to go back to Afghanistan soon.

I just realized it today but every man in my family since the early 1900's has served in the military including my husband and brothers-in-law. WOW Proud of each and every one of them!     Nancy took the time to double stamp the die cut America in a great way…that stitched border die really flows with the feel of the card…the embossed banner, the cut strings…not surprisingly for Lawn Fawn, it is a great sample!

  187. There are so manydetails I just love about your any hero card: the stars and stripes stamped across the USA map, the inking around the mat for the map, the woodgrain background and the stack of stars with the sentiment banner all make this an absolutely fabulous card!
