Mimi’s Interactive Classroom Pull-tab Message Card

Woohoo! Summer Release Week is coming soon! Join us for the Big Giveaway on Tuesday, June 10! We are so excited to introduce our cute and summery new stamps, dies, stencils and more. There will be Design Team inspiration, intro videos and daily giveaways through June 19 when the new goodies will be released. We can’t wait!

School’s out, woohoo! Mimi is with us today to share a clever interactive pull-tab card with a dual message! She used Let’s Toast Pull-Tab Add-On to change the message for year end, to one for a new school year!

I love how Mimi created the adorable classroom. The background is a fun petite paper from Into the Woods Remix and the “floor” is the woodgrain Knock on Wood Coffee Table paper. She created the alphabet banner using Rainbow Ever After Thumbelina paper and Smitty’s ABCs!

Then she used the coordinating coloring stencils and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink to color the Simply Celebrate Graduation chalkboard. She cut out the center of the chalkboard to create a window. Then she added color to the bookcase from Simply Celebrate Hangouts with coloring stencils as well!

The cute Simply Celebrate More Critters students are sitting at desks that Mimi pieced together using a planter box from Garden Before ‘n Afters and legs from You’re Claw-some!

Using the pull-tab to pull the panel behind the chalkboard down, the “school’s out” message changes to “welcome back”!

Mimi’s instructions for making the changing chalkboard:

– I die cut Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables from Coffee Table and Into the Woods pattern papers, and two more from white cardstock.
– I trimmed the pattern papers and adhered them to one of the white stitched rectangles. I also added a strip of white cardstock to divide the floor and wall.
– I die cut the open slot for the pull tab to the bottom of the card and also trimmed out an opening where the chalkboard would be placed with an x-acto knife.
– To make the interactive chalkboard – on a separate panel of white cardstock, I ink blended with Rustic Wilderness distress oxide ink, then stamped and white heat embossed the words and images from Henry Jr.’s ABCs, Just Add Glitter, Pool Party and Beam Me Up.
– I assembled the pull tab die, trimmed the interactive chalkboard, adhering it to the pull tab and positioned it with the chalkboard opening.
– Then I backed it with the second white stitched rectangle frame with foam strips.
– I adhered all my images and finished with the alphabet banner. I also stamped the apple from the chalkboard, fussy cut and added it to the chalkboard.

Thank you so much for sharing this clever interactive pull-tab card, Mimi!

Catherine’s Ice Cream Themed Pull ‘n Slide Surprise!

Catherine‘s interactive thank you card is the perfect design to kick off summer fun! She created a clever ice cream parlor with some adorable mice!

Catherine used Pull ‘n Slide Surprise with Giant Thank You to make this memorable card! The ice cream carton is from Treat Yourself and the cute mice are from You Autumn Know, Virtual Friends Add-On and You’re Just My Type. She added color and texture to the card using Corner Rainbow Stencils and Brick Stencil.

Under the slider, Catherine filled the “freezer case” with colorful ice cream choices! She used Let’s Bokeh stamps and coordinating dies to make the cartons. The spoons and the freezer handle are from Magic Picture Changer Oven Add-On. And at the top of the slider is a “cool” sentiment from Treat Cart!

Such a brilliant card, Catherine! Thank you so much for inspiring us!
