Silly Goose Inspiration

Elena‘s clever card idea uses Brick Stencil with Riverside Backdrop: Portrait to create a “yellow brick road”! It’s perfect with the Mother Goose Story Time theme and the punny golden sentiment! I love how she added cute decorative clusters with small images from both Silly Goose and Spring Basket Add-On: Fall.

“Honk if it’s your birthday!” Tammy combined Silly Goose with Cake It Easy, Cake It Easy Add-On and Really High Five to create a charming birthday card! She framed all the fun with a Reverse Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Window in the new Favorite Flannel Fall paper!

Marine‘s amazing Silly Goose scene card is so “goose-tastic”! She built this fun scene with the Simply Celebrate Hangouts fence and a rock from I Heart Pandas Add-On for the goose to sit on!

Megan‘s Silly Goose card is so sweet! She arranged the cute scene on a Stitched Square Stackable with a Stitched Simple Hillside Border. Then she white embossed part of the greeting on a vellum circle, finishing it with Henry’s ABCs!

Yainea‘s simple design has a big impact! She used Favorite Flannel Fall petite paper for the background. Then she arranged the cute geese on a Let it Shine Starry Skies Stitched Circle. She finished by combining a die-cut Big Scripty Words phrase with the cute sentiment from Silly Goose!

Mindy‘s welcome baby card starts with a stenciled background using Cloudy Stencil and Nighttime Sky Stencil in pretty pastels. Then she stacked up colorful Silly Goose books for an extended Mother Goose story time!

Lynnette used Simple Stripes: Landscape to create a bold backdrop for her Silly Goose birthday card! I love the pink and orange color combo for the Cake It Easy birthday cake!

Audrey‘s Silly Goose birthday card is so much fun! She created the frame using a Reverse Stitched Scalloped Circle Window cut from a Sunburst Backdrop. Then she layered it over a panel of Bitsy Blooms petite paper with a Bitsy Blooms Grassy Border. It’s so cute how she “tied” the Yappy Birthday balloons to the goose!

Elise combined a Stitched Scalloped Circle Frame with Favorite Flannel Fall paper to create a delightful Silly Goose birthday card!

The little gosling is imagining Cinderella’s fairy godmother in Grace‘s story book scene and it’s so magical. She created the scene with the help of Riverside Backdrop: Landscape, Outside In Thought Bubble Stackables and a cute new mouse from Halloween Mice!

Woodgrain Stencil Inspiration

Melissa sends a cheery Fall greeting with our new Woodgrain Stencil and Scripty Fall. The woodgrain design is so pretty layered with Tree Branches Backdrop: Portrait. The colorful leaves, some from the new Fall Leaves Border, and birds from Build-A-Bird Feeder add to the whimsy of this beautiful card!

Latisha‘s charming card features a cute Silly Goose scene on a Giant Easter Messages Lawn Cuts lacy oval. She layered it on a panel of Favorite Flannel Fall paper and a Woodgrain Stenciled background. That big bow is so sweet!

Lynnette‘s card is so adorable with Pick of the Patch squirrels and the new Pick of the Patch Add-On pumpkins. Woodgrain Stencil pairs with Favorite Flannel Fall to create a simple backdrop for the cute vignette.

Mindy‘s beautiful card is so perfect for celebrating Fall! She started with a Woodgrain Stenciled background and a Rectangle Frame. Then she combined mice from You Autumn Know, a Stitched Pumpkin and Stitched Leaves in a pretty arrangement. The new Scripty Fall greeting looks so pretty in glittery paper from Sparkle Autumn pack.

  1. Cinderella is probably a favorite. I also like The Wizard of Oz. Can’t wait to see those fairy tale mice.

  2. “Madeline” by Ludwig Bemelmans. I was 5-6 years old, spent three days in hospital due to bad stomach-aches and there it was this book written about ME! (which it was in my then 5-6 year old brain 🤭). My grandmother lent the book over and over again from the library… Got older, forgot about it. Til’ I one day suddenly remembered the book and mentioned it to my daugter; the memory it was written about me. (Being a silly goose 😂) Turned 60 that year and my daughter gifted me the book – oh dear, I never cried so much over a birthday present! I still love the book, the illustrations, the story… and guess what? I actually think it is written about me… 😉

  3. These geese remind me of the Golden Books we read as children, such fond memories. I’ve always enjoyed reading. One of my favorite stories was the Ugly Duckling, the trials and tribulations within the story still resonates today. Super cute new set and wonderful inspiration from the DT!

  4. The stories that my granddaughter makes up! She has quite the story telling capabilities at 3! Otherwise I like the Princesses stories!

  5. I always liked the message of the Ugly Duckling. Love this new set. Amazing projects from the design team.

  6. I love reading and libraries so I don’t really have one favorite although I do remember having lots of the Golden Books as a very young child. The Silly Goose set is so adorable and a great addition to the Little Free Library. National Library Week is every April. This set along with the Little Free Library set would be super cute to make cards or a treat box for the librarians at your local library or for the media staff at k-12 schools.

  7. My favourite book as a child was Miss Mopp’s Lucky Day. I read it to my kids and still have it to read their kids when the day comes.

  8. I like any once upon story that is totally made up on the spot!! Oh and I love these cards!!! So fun

  9. Can’t say I have a favorite. So many good ones but, of course, Ugle Duckling is perfect for this release.

  10. My favorite book to read to my two daughters was The Golden Book- Brown Puppy and the Falling star: I’ll run fast, and I’ll run far to catch the falling star.

  11. Oh my gosh, these geese are too cute! I love fantasy and fairy tales, so it’s rather hard to choose. I’ll go with Into the Woods, which is a clever retelling of classic tales interwoven together and is my favorite musical.

  12. I loved reading to my son when he was young , and fairy tales were some of our favorites….they are all great , and the artwork throughout the pages just added to the magic

  13. Love a good fairy tale, however I have been enjoying all the new ones that have been coming out with twists.

  14. When I was a child, I was so intrigued by the Princess and the Pea. It’s still a favorite. These little geese are adorable! 💚💙

  15. My favorite once-upon-a-time stories are the ones my kids and I would make up before bedtime when they were little!

  16. My Mother wrote a book for me while she was taking a early childhood class in college. “Once upon a time there was a little girl . . .” The class books were printed and bound. I still have that copy.

  17. Snow white, Cinderella, beauty and the beast, peter rabbit….. so many good ones, especially when critters are involved!

  18. I love this addition to our Lawn Fawn critters! The geese are adorable. My favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast! It’s the first Disney movie I remember seeing in the theatre as a little girl!

  19. I loved reading Ella Enchanted. I think I read it so many times that my book was in bad shape when I finally retired that version. I love the geese stamp set as they would make perfect baby cards.

  20. I had a big Brothers Grimm book I loved to read with lots of fairy tales. For classic fairy tales, I do like Cinderella.

  21. I think Disney cornered the market on “Once Upon a Time” stories, so I’ll say my favorite is probably The Little Mermaid. 😀

  22. Not sure if it is a “once upon a time” story but love Peter Rabbit! (and now we can do a Peter Rabbit card with Jemima Puddle-Duck as well!).

  23. Definitely The Princess and the Bowling Ball from Jon Scieszka’s The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales.

  24. My fave fairytale I’m illustrating in origami, is of a white foxes’ wedding. Although there is virtually no story arc, it also means everyone lived “happily ever after,” thereby making it the perfect wedding card.

  25. My favorite fairytale from childhood was always Cinderella. I loved seeing Cinderella at Disneyland. 💖
Today’s Silly Goose releases are perfect for fairy tales! 💖💖💖

  26. As a kid I really liked Goldilocks the best. Love the woodgrain stencil! Now I change anything into woodgrain in any color! The geese are adorable!

  27. My favorite story is Beauty and the Beast. I watch and read any story that is a take on Beauty and the Beast.

  28. I love most of the fairytales, there are just a few I really don’t. But “The Nutcracker” is one of my favorites. Most of the others are german and I have no idea if they even exist somewhere else, like Allerleihrau.

  29. I have to say my favourite story has to be Rapunzel. The silly goose reading books has got to be one of my favourite stamps so far!

  30. So many stories, so little time. I am a big fan of modern retellings or fresh fairy tale visions like Shrek and The Sisters Grimm. I believe Fairy Tale characters are living in our world undercover. I wouldn’t be surprised if lots of Lawn Fawnatics were real-life fairy-tale characters.

  31. The collections of stories and the danger in the frame narrative in Thousand and One Nights always fascinated me, as well as its history.

  32. My teenage daughter just started referring to herself as a silly goose and even proclaimed, “Silly goose on the loose!” recently. Any conversation with that particular teenager that results in laughter all around and doesn’t involve an eye roll is my favorite happily ever after.

  33. I’m loving the new geese set! Offhand, I don’t have a favorite story that starts with “once upon a time”.

  34. My favorite childhood storybooks were from Richard Scary (with Pierre Bear, city mouse and country mouse, fox and the crow and front and friends) and Golden Little Books

  35. Not sure if it counts as a “once upon a time” story but my all time favorite in any form is King Arthur and the knights of the round table.

  36. My favorite is The Three Bears. I used to tell it to each of my three kiddos every night – my 14 year old even asked for it a few months back when he had a bad day. Never too old for a bedtime story from your momma.

  37. My favorite is The Princess Bride: “Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess…”
The fairy tale part is fun, and the parts where the grandson and grandpa interact are pretty cool too.

  38. I have to go with the Little Mermaid, has always been a favorite, the happy disney one and the darker original fairy tale.

  39. So many good ones! I loved James Thurber’s Many Moons as a child. It had gorgeous dreamy watercolor illustrations.

  40. I love Beatrix Potter’s The Tales of Peter Rabbit, The Golden books Disney Classics
    & Thumbelina! 💗

  41. Being a musical theatre person – my favorite is Into the Woods! That combines several fairy tales. Love the adorable geese.

  42. Wow, that is a hard question. I love so many…. the Berenstain Bears, all the Curious George books, the Dr Seuss books… I had a ton of Golden Books…Probably my Snow White and Cinderella Disney books from around 1970. They had the most gorgeous illustrations and I still have them. It’s VERY hard to choose, but probably those two picture books. I also love North-South books, particularly the ones w/ Lizbeth Zwerger illustrations.
All that you have shown today is EGGceptional. I adore every card you showed!!!!!!!!!!

  43. My favorite is “once upon a time I had a 27 inch waist” It was way back in High School but I remember it like it was yesterday 🙂
I didn’t really grow up on fairytales and don’t have any children that I read them to, so this is really all I have 🙂 LOL

  44. These geese are just precious! I love reading any “once upon a time” story especially to my granddaughters.

  45. I think Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is my favorite and now that it’s a new release with “real people” as my granddaughter says, it’s even better. Silly goose will be on my wish list!

  46. I cannot think which Once Upon a Time story is my favorites. I guess everyone loves Cinderella, and I go there overall. I love these stories that hold a deeper meaning, of love, of virtue and hope. I especially love the Silly Good set and can’t wait to get my hands on it.

  47. My favorite once upon a time stories are the ones I tell my granddaughters now 6 1/2 and 3. Usually about my childhood or their daddy’s!

  48. My sons favourite childhood story (not once upon a time though) was ‘It could have been worse!’ He thought it was hilarious when the mouse prickled his bottom! (But of course it could have been worse). And I loved watching him laugh.

  49. My favorite has always been beauty and the beast my daughter loves Cinderella l. Love these sweet geese

  50. My favorite is Beauty & the Beast. I watche. Td this with my daughter almost everyday when she was growing up and we still watch it. Now we watch it with my granddaughter. The geese will make a great addition to my collection, it is so cute.

  51. These geese are so much fun and that woodgrain stencil is a must have for me! I love any princess story, but my favorite would be either Disney’s Brave or Mulan.

  52. I love Beauty and the Beast because it teaches us. Lesson of kindness no matter who you are. My grandsons love the 3 Little Pigs.
I think the woodgrain stencil is awesome.

  53. The Silly Goose stamp set is adorable. My favorite Once upon a time story would have to be The Frog Prince.

  54. So my wonderful one upon a time stories to choose from. I think the story of Cinderella might be my favorite though.

  55. As a preschool teacher, I love reading, The Three Bears with my class. I also love Cinderella and Snow White.

  56. Not sure if I have a favorite, but Lady and the Tramp. I always love anything that evolves the doggos! As long as there is a happy ending!!! 🐶

  57. I’m not really into fairy tails so I guess my favorite “once upon a time” story would be. Runaway Marie Louise by Natalie Savage Carlson. So it could go like this, “Once upon a time there was a little mongoose…”

  58. My favorite “once upon a time” stories are the ones I made up for my youngest when she was little. Not so much for the story itself (I didn’t think they were very good) but because she always asked to hear another one. ❤️

  59. My namesake story Heidi. Once upon a time a girl is sent to live with her reclusive grandfather in the Swiss Alps…

  60. Once upon a time there lived a princess in a castle … I love all stories with a princess and a prince charming.

  61. As a child I had a boo k of Andersens fairytales. I really loved them though I never became the promised swan 😀
I find it interesting how languages are different. In Germany silly goose is an insult and I could never give a card with that sentiment to a friend. But the geese are really cute.

  62. Is it weird that the first story that popped in my head was the story from “The Princess Bride”? I love that whole book.

  63. Cinderella for sure, when I was 7 I would pretend to be Cinderella and dance about the house cleaning and singing.

  64. My brother used to read me from these somewhat scary books that I think were Grimm brothers fairy tales. But my brother was such a hero to me that I didn’t care that the stories were creepy!

  65. Love this set . . . especially the “flappy geese”. Thy are so cute. Favorite fairy tale is a tough one, but Beauty and the Beast edges out the others.

  66. Little Golden Books immediately came to mind..there were so many good ones..Snow White, The Poky Little Puppy, The Shy Kitten..

  67. Fairy tale stories are all so much fun! As an adult, ive been reading the villainous series. Back stories for all the disney villains! Love!

  68. Oh my goodness! These goose are so cute! Such an amazing addition to the Lawn Fawn critter lineup!!! One of my favourite books is Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.
