Happy 31st Anniversary, Mom & Dad + a video!

Hello everyone! Today I have a card I made using the Embellish challenge and Bake Me A Cake for my parent’s 31st anniversary! Yay! I also have a video at the end of the post too (I even pressed record this time! hehe!)

Here is the awesome Embellish Challenge! You know what’s funny? I own these same hair pins!
Here is a close up of the paper pieced cake. I wanted to make a card that would fit both my Mom and Dad. I feel like the brown card stock, text paper and khaki ribbon add a masculine touch, with the yellow and coral adding the feminine. Their flowers at their wedding were yellow roses, too, so it’s perfect! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! I love you!

Now on to a video! You can watch it here or over at You Tube.

Thank you so much for watching!

Have an amazing day,

Torendi bakes a cake!

Hello! Today I have a Torendi + Lawn Fawn card! I used Torendi’s new kit “Paris in Bloom” and Lawn Fawn’s new set “Bake Me A Cake”. The new Torendi kit is Sassafrastastic and so awesome!

I also decided to participate in Waltzing Mouse’s first sketch challenge! So fun!

I paper pieced the cake plate and three different tiers of the cake with Sassafras paper. The star topper is paper pieced too! A tip for paper piecing “Bake Me A Cake”: make sure to cut the edges of the tiers a little longer that way lining it up is easy. I actually made a video of this, and guess who didn’t press record? Blaargh to me! I will do another one soon! 🙂

I absolutely love the stickers that come in the Torendi kit. They are so fun! Also, I created my frame by using my Spellbinders labels 9 die to cut out the window and then popping that part up on some foam adhesive. I like doing this and always forget to! I just might have to more often!

Here is a pic of the full Torendi “Paris in Bloom” kit. It is an awesome kit! Make sure to check it out!

So does this every happen to you? You’ve been creating, but the stuff just doesn’t feel right; it doesn’t feel like “you”. Well that’s been happening to me for a while until the last two days, and I feel so much better! I think I just needed to create for creating’s sake and not for a publication or a contest or what I think other people might like. It makes it so much more fun! I’m rambling, but I am just glad to have my “mojo” back, as people say, and thought some of my crafty buds out there might understand. 🙂

Have an amazing day,

2 sketches 4 you 54: Life, love and glittery butterflies

Hello and welcome to 2 Sketches 4 You day! Woooo! 🙂 Our sponsor this week is The Stamping Boutique and our sketch is by the lovely Kazan!
Awesome sketch, right?! I love it!

I had a blast Copic coloring this stamp from The Stamping Boutique. It is just so pretty and whimsical. I also added some Stickles to the edges of the butterfly and the swirls and dots. So fun!
The sticker sentiment is from the Dear Lizzy American Crafts line and reads “the way to know life is to love many things”. This sentiment inspired the card. I love so many things: glitter, bright colors, flowers, girly, pretty, fun, critters, text, orange, pink, blue, turquoise, etc. So I thought: why not put them ALL on one card! It was so much fun to not try to make things “match” (not that I do that all that often anyways, hehe)!

Okay, enough rambling from me! Haha! Make sure to make your card and head on over to the 2S4Y blog to find Mr. Linky!

Happy Monday!
