Sending Hugs and Smiles with Grace and Elephant Parade

Hello friends! Today we have a special project by Grace that I’m sure will inspire you! She used Shadow Box Card to create two modified box cards to decorate with our adorable Elephant Parade critters!

Grace’s unique design also uses the arched panel from Secret Garden Window in the background. She added hot foil shine with Cloud Background Hot Foil Plate. Then she inked the panels with pretty pastel ink colors. Check out the supply list for all the colors she chose.

To create the modified pop-up box, Grace started with Shadow Box Card. She cut the main box piece only once for each box and cut them in half lengthwise. *Tip: Grace cut them from 110 lb. white cardstock for stability, before covering the pieces with patterned paper and assembling the box as usual.* She also used the grassy insert from Shadow Box Card Park Add-On, inking the pieces with Celery Stick and Clover ink.

For the first card, she inked the arched piece with Sugar Cookie, Peach Fuzz, Ballet Slippers and Fresh Lavender. Then she colored the Elephant Parade and Elephant Parade Add-On images in soft tones. She heat embossed the sentiment from Offset Sayings: Everyday in gold on a pearlescent vellum Simple Wavy Banner.

For the second card, Grace swapped the Fresh Lavender ink for Wild Rose! She added images from Bubbles of Joy, coloring the bubbles in an amazing “translucent” rainbow! She also used the Big Scripty Words Hot Foil Plates to add “love ya” to the sentiment! And she used clear acetate to make the bubbles look like they are floating on the breeze.

Thank you for sharing this amazing design with us, Grace! I love these adorable cards so much!
