What man (or woman, for that matter) doesn’t love a recliner?!

Hello everyone! Life is still at the insane level. I leave tomorrow morning for Vegas for my brother’s film premiere. I am so excited! Keep your fingers crossed that someone sees this film and decides to distribute it! That would be so amazing!! It really does deserve to be in theatres all around the country!
I have actually never been to Vegas even though I have lived in SoCal for 11 years. I have super bad asthma and have never gone because of all the smoking. Well, Mike and I found a hotel that has an entire non smoking floor and a non smoking part of the casino. I am definitely not a gambler, but I want to be able to walk around and people watch! We are also going to go see the Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soleil show as an anniversary gift from my Mom! A lot of family and friends will be there to support my brother too, so it should be quite the reunion! I will let you guys know all about it when I get back! 🙂 Any Vegas “must do” tips out there in blogland? 🙂
Back to the cards, here is another Father’s Day card. I was thinking that a lot of Father’s Day cards have camping or golf or tools, etc. Well, what about the Dad that doesn’t like any of those things? So I came up with this card!

Recliners! I’ve never met a man that doesn’t love a good recliner! 🙂 I recently figured out that the Fresh Alphabet from PTI fits in a 3/4 inch punch. I think the letter look so cute that way!
I created this plaid recliner by stamping the recliner and then creating lines across it and up and down with copic markers. I didn’t worry about going outside the lines because I knew I could cut it out. I am excited about trying this technique with other patterns! It could be really fun!
I used woodgrain and that Color Bok paper because it seems manly. jaja! I also used my beloved pop dots/dimensionals/foam adhesive on the recliners. Note to self: Seriously, buy some stock in glue dots and pop dots :).

[Supplies]
Paper: Neenah Paper Environment (desert storm), Neenah Paper Classic Crest (solar white), Color Bok (forest friendly scrap pack)
Ink: Stampin’ Up (close to cocoa), Ranger Adirondack (espresso), Papertrey Ink (ripe avocado)
Stamps: A Muse (recliner), Cornish Heritage Farms (woodgrain backgrounder), Papertrey Ink (fresh alphabet)
Etc: 3/4 inch circle punch, Copics (YG95,B95)
Thank you so much for visiting!
Have an amazing day,

I was a May gallery challenge winner for the PaperCrafts Connection blog. I cannot believe it! I am just so excited!
I was chosen for this card that I made for my Mom, and here is the entry on their blog.
Thank you so much to Dana for letting me know (check out her blog, she was the most wonderful cards!) It has seriously made my week. And thank you to you all for indulging me. 🙂

another family birthday!

Hello!! Life has been INSANE! I have no idea how to keep up, but I sure am trying. I leave on Friday for Vegas for my brother’s film festival so that is putting pressure on me to get all of these things done. My Mom’s birthday is actually the day after we all leave Vegas, so we will celebrate there! My Mom absolutely loves shoes. She even puts them all in labeled tupperware bins. She has the most amazing shoes too! I am glad we are the same size (even though I trump her 7 inches in height!) so we can wear the same shoes! 🙂
Here is her card!

I have decided that raspberry fizz, black, ripe avocado and white is my new favorite color combo. I am seriously loving it! I created the background by putting all these different shoe stamps on one block as if it were a background stamp and stamped it in versamark. I used American Crafts Zing! embossing powder for the first time, and, wow! Zing! Kablam! Pow! This stuff is awesome! I punched the bottom with one of those border punches that I just love and covered the seem with ribbon.
I stamped my favorite shoe of the bunch on a nestie square and copic colored it and added some spica glitter pen on the flower. I used my new favorite birthday sentiment from bird watching and lined the edges of the square with a copic, trying to emulate the sketch style of the shoes.

I think my Mom is going to love this card. She has been begging me to get some shoe stamps for a while. When I found this awesome set by Hero Arts, I knew I had to get it for her! Alright, time to unwind with some rock band at a friend’s house, because, seriously, I need some unwinding!
