Thinking Inking Embellishments

I know I can’t stop talking about Jennifer McGuire’s Thinking Inking class, but I just really love it! Two Peas is so amazing for offering this class for free! This past week was all about alcohol inks, and they are really fun to work with. It is fun to do something so different!

This butterfly was stamped on a transparency swiped with alcohol inks. I then backed it with white card stock.
This butterfly was stamped on a transparency covered in alcohol ink. After being stamped the stamp ink was quickly wiped away to leave the white butterfly border. I need to practice this technique more, but it is really cool!
This is a charm fragment by Tim Holtz. 48 come in a package, and they are so fun! I really piled on the ink on this one and added some pearl to it. I inked the back, then backed it with white card stock. Then I stamped the bird on the front. This could be cute on a card, or even on a necklace!
Here is another view of the charm. I love the marble look! It is cool that you can get a swiped look like on the first butterfly, coverage like on the second, or a marble look like on this charm. I also love that my fingers get all inky! It makes me feel like an artist :).

Hero Arts website challenge & Thinking Inking Week 5

Happy Monday! This card has techniques from the alcohol week of Thinking Inking and is part of the website challenge for Hero Arts. This card was my inspiration for the Hero Arts challenge.

I love using alcohol inks. I picked up some more this weekend! I used a transparency and swiped three colors across it to create a scene at dusk. I backed the transparency with an alcohol ink covered glossy paper to make it look more like night time.
Thanks to a 50% off Michael’s coupon I just bought this EK Success border punch. I absolutely love it!
