Today is our showcase of Smooth Sailing and its coordinating dies, Stitched Simple Wavy Borders and Slide on Over Waves! Crafting will be smooth sailing with this cute stamp set! This sailboat-themed set is great for thank you cards, encouragement, birthdays, or for anyone who loves to sail the ocean! These simple waves are great for making an ocean card, or a simple decorative border. These two slider waves can be used on their own, or they coordinate with Stitched Simple Wavy Borders.

The design team has made the most amazing samples! We also have two videos at the end showcasing some creative ways of using these fun new sets!

Audrey gave her adorable card so many fun nautical elements! I love the view of the cute sailboat through the Porthole Frames and the colorful Stitched Simple Wavy Borders! The sails are paper-pieced using Gotta Have Gingham 6×6 paper for an added bit of sweetness!

Elise‘s clever tall slimline card is so adorable! I love all the layers of Stitched Simple Wavy Borders and the way she added pattern to the sails!

I love how Latisha used pink, orange and yellow banners to anchor her nautical design! How cute are those stamped waves under the sentiment?!

Megan added double interactive elements to this amazing card! She used Slide on Over Waves so the boat can sail on the waves and she used Chibitronics to light up the lighthouse!

Kay‘s clean and simple design is gorgeous! I love how she paper-pieced the sails using Really Rainbow paper for a pop of bright color!

Elena‘s card is so adorable! I love all the boats with the cute critter sailors! She created lots of dimension by combining our new Stitched Simple Wavy Borders with the Stitched Wave Borders!

Yainea‘s Smooth Sailing design has a dreamy look with all the clouds and the beautifully water-colored and splattered sky! I love how she colored the borders of the die cut images to match the background!

  5. Although I haven’t been sailing on a sailboat, I have enjoyed being on large riverboats cruising on the lake or a short trip on the Mississippi River. Adorable set!!! Love the little critters sailing on the boats! I also like the lighthouses and the interactive slider cards! So many sweet ideas!

  91. I’ve only been sailing maybe twice in my life when I was younger. I do remember that I enjoyed it a lot. Since then I’ve just been on regular boats on the lake. Still fun but there is something about a sail boat…

  92. I do not like to sail. I, too, get seasick. But your stamp set is adorable for those who do like sailing.

  95. We hired a catamaran and skippered it ourselves in the Whitsunday islands in Australia. It was tricky and it was quite nauseous. I think I like to stay on land. Having said that the sailing allowd us to experience some amazing snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.

  214. I used to like to sail, the wind whipping in your face and the ocean spray; but now I get seasick or have trouble not looking green if I am on a boat or ferry. I have heard that if you concentrate on the horizon, it helps and it did the last time I was on a boat in Australia. The excitement of being down under made the nausea not as bad I think!   251. Great set. Sailing isn’t my thing much to the chagrin of my husband. But the ocean scares me if it’s too deep for me to stand in. (Jaws wasn’t my favorite movie ;D) but I like the beach and finding crabs and splashing in the tide.

  254. I need to search my Lawn Fawn collection for an owl and a pussy cat to fit in the sailboat for love theme cards. I’d love to see more literary themes in the stamp sets!

    1. I do love to go sailing when invited, but as a waterski enthusiast I have a ski boat. I’m sure there are lots of power boaters who would love a cute little Lawn Fawn ski boat!

  262. I have not been sailing but I am sure I would love it. I am usually in boats designed for scuba diving. I just love to be on the water or in the water!
    This set is adorable – love the boats, the lighthouse, and the critters. The waves and slider waves are perfect! Can’t wait til Thursday!

  263. Unfortunately i feel sick even swinging on a swing, so sailing would be horrible for me. I was on a boat once and it didn’t end well. i liked the ocean, the view and scent of the ocean though, so crafting sailing cards would be very cute and cards don’t shake (unless they’re shakercards ha ha 😀 )

  272. I love this cards!! So cute!! We are not sailors, we are powerboaters. We own a 22’ powerboat and spent a lot of time around the Golden Isles here in Georgia. It is so beautiful here. I love to take pictures of the porpoises and the birds, especially the pelicans. They are so funny!!

  283. Went on a sailboat dolphin cruise ONCE – did not see one dolphin and almost lost my lunch – so I never really gave it another chance! I actually don’t like being in any water if my feet do not touch the bottom so going on the boat in the first place was extremely out of the ordinary for me, but it was our 25th anniversary and I was being daring. We also went parasailing – that was amazing, but I did not like the process of getting out there. (Banana boat to a speed boat that also made me very sick). But hey – we saw dolphins while we were parasailing – lol!!

  292. I’ve been on a catamaran once, as a shore excursion while my husband and I were on a cruise.
    It was very nice, but then again, I got motion-sick while on the cruise so had to take medication while on the excursion. ;-p

  311. I can’t say that sailing is something I do… I’ve been in smaller boats (without sails) and big boats (without sails), but water travel is not necessarily a favorite of mine! But I do love seeing these adorable animals holding onto anchors, sailing on calm and rough water! Such cute sets.

  313. I have to say no. The light reflecting off the water doesn’t agree w the photo sensitivity from my meds. But I still love the stamps!

  331. I’ve only been sailing once with my family. We could only convince my dad to go out for an hour because he wasn’t sure if he would like it. We only paid to go out for an hour, and we all loved it and wished it was longer. I love the nautical cards.

  340. I can’t say I like it or dislike it. I live in the middle of a desert so I am not near enough to a body of water for the topic to come up. However, when I do travel, I have no issue (motion sickness, fear, etc) with taking ferries or boats to and from a destination. I have never ‘sailed’ for the sake of just riding around in a boat, only been on them to get from A to B. So I guess, neutral?

  372. I don’t like to sail. I actually hate to be on a boat out on the water. I have a major fear of the water. However, I think this set is super cute and would work great for a Father’s Day card!!

  394. While I love looking at the ocean, I do NOT enjoy being on it. I’ve been on small boats up to cruise ships, and I do not like being out on open water. If something goes wrong, you have nowhere to go. I love how these little critters are enjoying sailing, though!

  427. I always take some Dramamine first–just in case–but I do enjoy boat rides. These are the perfect summer sets–I’m so ready for the beach now–and lighthouses are a favorite for me.

  429. so, so cute today! Never sailed but I did see an elephant water skiing at Cedar Point back in the 70s and that’s my exciting water story 🙂
